Quote:So far all it's achieved is to show that Union roleplayers can be exceptionally petty and hold grudges for ridiculous reasons. I'm quite frankly embarrassed by this thread and wish I'd never posted in it. I'm interested in building bridges with other roleplayers on the Union server whereas others seem to be more interested in burning them down. If anyone likes the idea of bringing people together, I'm all ears.
I suggest taking further discussions to a separate thread called 'Union RP Issues' so that others can get back to discussing the original topic. But not for me.
I'll be somewhere else, having fun rather than continuing some OOC grudge match.
Merry Christmas, right?
If there's one thing that Union really needs, it's a consolidation of RPers, not this rift that seems to have been around for as long as I've known.
It's never gonna happen though, 'cause there's too many big... heads? who refuse to budge, and too many grudges that are held when they should be going along with the water under the bridge like Pooh sticks.
I did want to post stuff about GG being cliquey (which it is, and there is -some- negative connotations there, but not all) and stuff... but I reckon you all have enough to argue about anyway.
New Year's Resolution for Union I think though: Let bygones be bygones. Get over it. And numerous other phrases that mean the same thing. -
Just have to chime in and say this thread has been immensely entertaining, but for all the wrong reasons!
You all need to take a step back and breath already. It's Christmas (close enough, there's snow and ****)
As for Incarnates... hell, I ain't got a clue if I'm even going to bother! I don't really play anymore. I'm only here to say you all gave me a good laugh reading through this! -

Then again we've had heroes from the PPD, Hero Corp, Freedom Corp and the Midnighters and no one got hung out to dry for doing that. I don't really see it being a big problem, providing the group isn't claiming to be the A-List Dawn Patrol members. We've made a bunch of stuff up IC, from different wings of the PPD, to the entire Press and Media wing of Hero Corps and I don't think anyone ever really complained about those. So go for it!

This is what I was thinking.
I mean jeez, Aisha's an African-American Female officer in the Awakened division of the PPD. A division notorious for consisting entirely of deathly-white males who are bald. All of them.
A small branch of The Dawn Patrol being stationed in Paragon, perhaps some "reserve" members who are eager to prove the UK's heroes are just as good, and get training in the true "City Of Heroes" and terror hotspot of the world?
I like the idea. -

And if he doesn't, I can't say I blame him.
The idea might not be original or work quite as planned (though personally, I can't really see why not), and it might be basing a little too much on game lore that can't really be fudged like that, but damn...
That was a hell of a welcome guys. -

If someone makes a post with conclusive evidence that is representative of what is likely to happen if farming continues, if those consequences were found to be bad, and someone could prove BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT that farming is bad, of course i will be converted.
[/ QUOTE ]
Farming is bad because the devs say it's bad.
Farming is an exploit because the devs say it's an exploit.
If farming continues, the devs will ban people. Which they don't want to do, as it loses them money (which is bad to them, not us). So instead, they have to remove the farming.
You won't win. You won't argue your point any better. You're shouting at a wall. -

That said I do agree that it would help the games survivability considerably if they upgrade the graphics somehow. I have seen nothing to indicate that this is not in their plans already.
[/ QUOTE ]
It wasn't so long ago that it was confirmed the Paragon team are looking at possible graphical improvements.
[/ QUOTE ]
I like this little snippet/tease/wink wink, nudge nudge/hint.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've heard so many of them over the years I've learnt to filter them out as irrelevant to what may or may not actually happen in the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Most things hinted have appeared. Eventually.
And by hinted, I mean hinted. Not things wished for, or wanted, or on player lists.
Personally, I don't mind. I'm still loving CoX. The MA isn't my favourite addition ever, but as a roleplayer, it's a brilliant one that I'll probably get involved with quite a lot over time.
People's general apathy towards Issue 14 isn't towards Issue 14 at all, it just points out the problem. It's the game as a whole. And really, it should just point them in the right direction, which is likely away from the game for a while.
I'll stick to my general chirpy optimism and say Issue 15 will be one to bring many wanted additions, and hopefully some of these graphical updates, no matter how minor. But until then, I'll stay away from the forums full of moaning and whining from the people who should take the hint already. -

Aisha reached a hand out to Flash to stop her moving any further while pressing the thumb of her other hand to her throat mic, sewn into the neck of her costume.
Speaking in a hushed whisper, she quickly scanned the room ahead.
"We've got a small group of Freaks in here. They haven't seen us yet... but some backup would be nice, just in case. We can check out that warehouse in a second..." -
I'd be up for it, but it'd depend on the occasion.
I don't think any of my characters are really in that crowd, or would go without an invite -
Aisha stepped forward in the gloom, quickly tightening her sash enough to keep her focused.
She span slowly on her heels and addressed the group with her eyes. Eyes filled with determination and confidence. The Chief's words had somehow helped.
Nodding once at the Chief and the Kid, she smiled softly. "Go to that one then. If you find anything, at all, report back before doing anything. If we do it, we do it as a team."
Looking over to Flash, she smiled. Hoping the Chief could keep Kid in check, she spoke quietly. "You and me will take the middle one... 523."
Angling her head once more so she was adressing the entire group, she raised her voice and authorative tone.
"If we don't find anything, we meet up outside the last one. And we go in as a team. We keep in contact and if anyone finds anything, they report back over any radio channel they can. Understood?" -
Aisha's fingers gingerly closed around the radio. Her grip was weak.
Looking up slowly, it was clear she was holding back some tears. Tears for the people lost. People lost because of her and these heroes.
Fighting to compose herself, she cleared her throat and nodded, the grip around the radio tightening in steely determination not to let this happen again.
"Yes Sir."
Turning back to the assembled squad of 'vigilantes', she spoke softly.
"We go to the Chasm. We'll need to split up and sweep these warehouses fast, but that doesn't mean recklessly."
Stammering a little, she continued.
"People have died here. Because of us. This isn't going to happen again." -
Aisha rubbed the back of her neck as she slowly drew a pained look over her face.
The carnage was incredible. They were supposed to be heroes.
Stammering a little and looking shocked as the realisation hit her, she looked around the other, then at the surgeon.
"Someone needs to stay here... and watch him. And then explain to the police just what happened..."
Sighing softly, she covered her eyes and squeezed tightly to try and slow down the rapidly approaching headache.
"Go. They'll listen more to me. I'll do my best..." -
Aisha, seeing that the Chief had the Doctor under something resembling control, moved across the room towards Flash and her victim.
Holding out her arms, she tried to grab Flash's leg and stop her barrage of blows.
"Stop. We need him." -

The hair is now sufferring from not being as good as the body textures, I think. I really like the style, so I may be able to do something about adding new shaders to the hair surfaces, or something and see if I can improve things.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think that probably is it. As your eyes were being drawn to the background before, now mine are drifting towards the hair.
I too do like the style though, so I hope you can figure something out
And I agree with the time consuming thing. I've been messing with the defaults and free things you can get, and even then it has a surprising way of sucking time from you without you noticing!
Looking forward to the updated one/more. -
Well, it's about time I finally did one of these posts...
Love it. Like, really love it
I really love the lighting and the shadows personally. And I'm not even complaining about the background anymore, because when Ni is looking that good, you're not even looking!
The skin in particular looks amazing (and if you have any tutorials/tips/step by step walkthroughs on how to get it that good, I'll be very happy)
I'll do my usual at this point and say I'm not really a fan of the hair! I love how it looks, but the colour seems a bit too vibrant. Not sure why, probably just me! -
Aisha burst into action, charging over to the stumbling doctor. Judging it as best she could, she launched towards him from the side that was least protected after the loss of his two flailing mechanical arms.
Hoping to grab and pin him to the floor, she readied her fist, burning with Kheldian energy in case the doctor had any sudden ideas. -
Aisha froze. The scene of carnage and mutilation occuring in front of her very eyes made her body shudder instinctively, the saw blades causing responses in her brain, making her feel as if they were cutting her own skin.
With a cry of rage, she threw her arms forward, enormous bolts of Kheldian energy spewing from her arms, aimed for the Doctor's buzzsaws.
Even though she was seething, her training was keeping her in line. She was a police officer, and this surgeon deserved justice, not vengeance. -
I'm in two minds about this one after checking last night.
Ni again looks great, though I'm not sure about the glossyness.
I think the background in this one detracts from it though. The idea is great, but the aliasing that is happening because of the contrast (particularly on her thighs/sides) does make it look worse than it should.
Again, I do like it though! -
Aisha paced backwards a little as the surgeon approached, her trained eyes and mind watching his movements as he started his hasty attack.
Narrowly dodging an incoming bolt from a crossbow, she span at the same time the surgeon swung a lumbering arm at her, the hacksaw cutting through the air in search of flesh.
Acting quickly, Aisha grabbed the man's wrist between her forearms, twisting and turning in one swift movement, landing on his back with a knee. Positioning his arm behind his neck, she quickly applied enough pressure to knock out any normal human being before she launched up to her feet, aiming two more bolts of energy towards the remaining surgeons, hoping to clear the path long enough to get the hostages out. -
Aisha leapt to her feet, time seeming to freeze for a second as she scanned the room.
Her brow furrowed in a grimace. The lack of teamwork and coordination displayed in the attack was almost disgraceful, and the shouting of a war cry made her brain shudder.
Realising she had no choice and had to make the best of the situation, she bounded into the room with the grace of a jungle cat, her hands blazing with Kheldian energy before launching two swift bolts at the surgeon nearest the hostages. -
Same here.
Map-server at about 00:39 ish. Can't get back in at all -
Aisha glided through the open entrance and landed with the grace of a ballet dancer just outside the entrance, the sewer water barely making a ripple as she landed softly.
Her training instantly kicked in and she crouched low, hiding in the dim shadows and somehow ignoring the smell that was now much closer to her nose.
A silky, softly spoken whisper escaped her lips as she peered into the room as best she could while staying out of sight.
"If we're going to do this, we have to do it quick. They've got hostages, and it sounds like there are a lot of them..." -
Aisha was about to say she would take the injured officer as he disappeared in a flash of light, along with the kid.
Giving one last pained look at the carnage, she floated softly off the floor, her eyes glowing brighter with Kheldian energy as she flew high above the buildings, twisting and tilting in the air before aiming at Dark Water and pushing her body as hard as possible, the low whine of her energy following her as she headed to catch up the others. -
Releasing the handle delicately so as not to disturb the occupants who might be inside and somehow still asleep, Aisha stepped back down into the alley.
Carefully stepping over strewn rubbish and small puddles, she made her way over to the second car and observed the horror. She covered her mouth to hide the quiet gasp as her eyes adjusted to the dark and got the whole scene, before she suddenly stepped forward.
"This one's alive! Barely, we need medical attention now."
Her index and middle finger touched his neck, timing the pulse and looking over his wounds.
