i just tried teaming with some friends with the new mission and i could not join them as it saying faction only as i was a hero.

Now i though we got the "had to be in the same zone bug" was due to these new Mission for crimerora or am i wrong?

Both heroes and villains can team together for ITF, Marcus Valerius or Senator Decimus Aquila's missions, but Daedalus and Sister Airlia's missions are faction only, so heroes and villains cannot team together for those arcs.

Part of the new feature developed for I13 (god knows why though...) that created faction only missions which are started in Co-Op zones... seeing as the new Cimerora missions involve travelling to Paragon City/Rogue Isles the opposing faction can't be on the team as they wouldn't be able to go to those locations.

You have to wonder what the harm would be of them being on a team in the other sides zones.... surely they wouldn't be targetable by other villians or Heroes...... erm bet thats what the problem is.

Though I was helped in the Rogue Isles but a GM who was a blaster and I couldn't attack him so maybe not.

Whether there would be harm or not, they can't actually, physically get through the doors to enter the zones. WHich is the problem with having them on the team.

I can see loads of reasons for the change;
competitive missions trying to undo each other's work,
a possible move towards opening both Paragon and the Rogue Isles to both sides,
a possible move towards changing sides,
a possible move towards "neutral" toons who can go everywhere.

It's a change in the tech with many options ahead, even though now it's anomalous. This is not the same as the "all have to be in zone" bug which is understood to be a side effect error that will (one day) be fixed.

Yeah, it's like the multiple password choices for the Midnighter Club - it's just the devs adding a bit of new tech that will be used much more in the future.

I thought that was just a little traditional RPG 'multiple choice' thing, since we only get about one choice for everything else.

Yes and no - it's a new bit of tech they came up with that would allow for story arcs to have multiple paths - and they decided to test it in a situation where it was unimportant - giving the wrong answer has no effect at all, but it does show that the tech works.
