I13 Broke my Client

After it checked all and then downloaded a 50mb file it tried to apply got a checksum error. When i have started it now it says fixing heroes.exe which maxed out at 8.8mb with full bar and 0.00 on the timer. However it is now onto fixing .Pigg files. Have been sat here since midnight wanting to play anyone had same problems and know how long it will roughly take?

Edit: It just checked a 1.7gb image? now back onto DL file manifest and proceded to fix more .pigg files

2nd Edit: So i finally get on at 1.46 GMT to be greeted with they shutting servers down for client based issues and then my game crashed dont suppose thats why? First time COX has crashed in the whole time ive played it!... Rant Over

I have the same problem. It's a shame because i wouldn't mind logging on today and having more of a play with i13 but there ya go.

Oh and running Vista, NVidia GeForce, had a play around wih the firewall etc to see if that was blocking but to no avail.

I'm guessing, but it looks like your antivirus has picked up a false positive while CoH was updating. If the AV altered a file, even minimally, when it did so then this will have caused the invalid checksum result.

He GR, have a cookie

I switched off the AV for a sec logged in, got asked if it was okay by my AV to run City of... and clicked yes.

Hurrah for problems caused by tiny things I know far too little about!

Thanks again.

I got the same thing, and it's really annoying, even deleted COX, and reinstalled and turned off my anti-virus (nod32) and then i still get the checksum-error in the CityofHeroes.exe file. Tried almost everything for a whole afternoon and night.

However, after then I13 update i did play, and now i can't, very strange

Hi all,

Please see this thread:

http://uk.boards.cityofheroes.com/sh...Number=1279079

If you have been affected, disabling your antivirus / NOD32 will not resolve the issue immediately (or prevent it from recurring, as many firewalls are *not* completely disabled when you disable them), as the program has caused modification to one or more files and these files will need to be re-downloaded by the launcher.

Well sorry GhostRaptor, but that still doesn't work

i followed the instructions to the letter, added the gamefiles to nod's "white"list, and ran it. After that i deleted those files and it still didn't work. I even deleted nod, and it didn't work. And i just payed for another month.....

Also, after i did the whole reinstall, it should have worked, cause it was clean, never played, and only updated, but even then i get the errors and stuff, it wasn't even done with updating

OK, after a lot of nod extra optimicers and stuff being uninstalled, he finally did it, YAY, the game works here. Still ty for the nod-warning GhostReaper

I had the same issue, and sat through the 50 mb download and the fix of just the exe file. But it wasn't because anything had found a false positive as nothing was picked up on AVG my end (or my 2 firewalls)
