Day jobs not turned on previously?

I could have sworn someone said that the day jobs were turned on about a month ago so we could earn towards the badges.

I am a bit hacked off as I have been religiously parking my alts up and obviously they werent earning.


Zhaan, Chakyra, Fiorina 161, Aeryn, Polly Nation, Dee Pression, Shazanne, Night Jester and too many more to mention.

Depends on where you've been sticking them, I guess. My Psi blaster just got the Day Trader badge after leaving her in WW (by mistake) for a while, so the timers were deffo on before the issue went live. :S

i remember that someone had said that timers were turned on

I left one of mine at mercy island starting fort place, then moved him to the black line helicopter after 30 days

and now he has half on Pilot job and a tiny bit on Patrol one

Weird, maybe some are bugged then, the Uni doesnt seem to have.

annoyingly they worked just fine on test, characters that dont have the badges on live got them straight away on test, across all builds of I13

same issue i had on a char.. 30 days in university.. then teleport into D.. only progress was for D *shrug*

Same issue with all my chars. I had one char sitting in Atlas City Hall, for longer than thirty days, and then moved the char to another location, and only the newest location counts.

I think double XP for 2009, plus the instant release of Issues 14, 15 and 16 is the very least we can expect as compensation for an outrage on this scale.

I think that may be the issue, the count seems to have reset each time the toon is parked. At least that seems to be the case with mine.

Yes, I believe the Dr. is right... the counter doesn't seem to have a memory for previous locations up until I13 is released... Needless to say, I'm not amused.

It was quickly apparent that only the last place to logout was counting. Not quite what the devs said, but hey: it's a freebie - they didn't need to award any retrospective time.

Hurrm. I just got patroller and the wentworth one on login. So I'm not certain that's right.

That's because the time for Patroller is counted no matter where you log out, i.e. you're always seen as on patrol no matter where you log out.

@Judgement_Dave: it wasn't apparent at all or at least not to me... what gets me is that I had already earned Caregiver/Pain Specialist and Patroller/Criminal on my mains and I foolishly moved them to another location to work on another badge based on the information that all time was being tracked. I'm not asking for anything; I'm more angry at myself for being greedy; what I do want to know is if this is WAI or not...

@Archy: why don't you go PvP something, eh? You can get p-off at the changes in PvP and [censored] and moan all about it but perish the thought if anyone else feels something is amiss with badges and chooses to vent their concerns on the forums... different strokes for different folks? I don't like PvP (or PvPers for that matter), you apparently don't like badges (or Badge Collectors). Fine, if you have nothing good to say about it, better you say nothing.

As I've said in another thread, how it works is that it takes the time since your last logout before I13 (so if you logged out just before, you wont have much progress) and applies that to the location you logged out at. If a character hasn't been in-game *at all* for 21 days or more (before the patch) and logged out at a day job location it's pretty much instant badge upon login after I13. Anything less, and you'll still have to clock some offline time.

It didn't take me that long on training room (after checking characters that had been logged out for various amounts of time) to figure out that this is how it would work. Hence my characters went on "vacation" at suitable locations since I didn't have much I needed to do before I13. Many of them have been offline for 19 days now, and some lesser played villains for 100+.
