I earned, slotted then sold about 200 of them once io's made more sense.
I dont think anyones is too concerned about you having or using them.
If the devs want them gone they would have done it already, but tbh i had loads of them but sold most as IOS were better, some HO are still handy but with new IOs coming all the time hamis will die of in the end.

Sure, for regular level 50 HOs. But what about the level 52 ones? Where do they come from? I was under the impression that they are no longer awarded on Hamidon Raids, so either the same old ones are re-sold again and again, or there's a new source for them?

Good point, Seeing as though the Auction House is global I guess they must be coming from the U.S.
I find them rather tasty to be honest and prefer to augment my sets slotting in lv 52+ and lv53 Hami's (Dual 38.3% bonuses) as opposed to finishing the slotting of a set with additional meagre set bonuses that I may not need and could be made better use of.
They are certainly in demand still, last Double-XP event a Level 53 Dam/Mez Peroxisome had 92 bids and went for upwards of 92 Million.
If you want to feel the effect of a level 51 or 52 HO/SHO you can combine them in the same way as normal SOs. So no it's not an exploit.
Warnings;
Combining a 50 HO with either another 50 HO/SHO is 100% gonna work, but watch out when you wanna then combine your 50+ (ie 51) HO with another. The times I've done it it has worked but there is that moment when 95% chance of success makes yer bum twitch.
Also if you do combine HOs or any enhancements they can then not be traded in WWs.

True, but last I heard, at least you now get the correct double Hami inf-rate if you leave it outside of a respec.

Never thought the inf offered for HOs was much 'cop' - and I'd feel dirty trading one in to be 'lost' for all time. Poor little HammiO, there there it's ok....

They came from a bug, you could never get a lvl 52 HO from hami himself but what you could do was once you finish a statesman/recluse tf/sf you could leave your reward screen up and pop along to warburg, the system would then award you with a lvl 52 HO once you clicked it.
The lvl 52 ones that are still about have come from players taking them from builds in respecs they will carry on going around the markets for sometime to come i would say.
As for a new way to get them if there is i dont know about it and tbh i dont think there will be the devs closed that hole sometime ago now

I've never seen a level 51 Hami personally, they are usually 50, 52 or 53.
I have seen lvl 51s on the market but never any for sell i have even seen lvl 30s but i would guess any that are not 50,52 are all system bugs

You can also combine them with Hydra Os, I don't know if Yin Os work so may be cheaper that way - higher risk of failure though

They were around pre I7 - I heard of someone getting one following a petition - I think he had lost a combined one due to a bug and it was the replacement.

The COH wiki claims that the bug about Hamidon-Origin enhancements (HOs / HamiOs) dropping with a level higher than 50 has been fixed with issue #9.
So the supply of those things should have all but dried up by now. Nevertheless the consignment house still lists some recent sales for them!
Do people really pass them back and forth without ever actually slotting them (or using respecs to un-slot them), or is there still a source that continues to produce them?
And what's the final word on level 52 HamiOs? Since the developers apparently never intended them to exist, are they even "legit"? Is their use being frowned upon? Are they an exploit and basically could be erased from a character at any time the developers feel like it?
