Hami Raid
interesting idea might actuly work as well to helpoffset the downside of it tho i would add dark defenders in to the healing teams for mass res.

its worth mentioning that when he does spawn a new set, they dont actually react for quite a while, if someones keeping an eye on the markers its quite easy for anyone with at travel power to be out of range by the time the mitos are ready to attack
Can someone explain this simply?? gone stright over me head.... or just point me to were i go boom

I may be wrong, but under a "Fun" Hami raid, we would clear the Mito's first, then hold Hamidon and spank him to death!
Under the new system, we clear the Mito's, then when Hamidon himself is at 75% HP, he respawns them, normally causing everyone fighting him to die! then we have to do it all over again, he respawns them at 50% health, and again at 25%.
Essentially making the raid "desk impacting on head rapidly" frustrating.
Lost is suggesting that if someone keeps an eye on Hami's HP, when he gets to those percentages of health, we can finish our attacks and leg it out of range before Hami's Mito's start inflicting mass death!
depending on how that goes, again if someone keeps tabs on Hami's health, we can also try self detonating a team of players at say 76% health. If the self detonates inflict the 1hp of damage and Hami respawns the Mito's, it wouldn't matter as everyone within Hami's range, would have self detonated!

But as you can't be targetted by teammates it makes teleport out impossible...
So most characters are looking at:
* hosp/base, which may be unwise if the zone limit is a factor - who wants to suicide then get locked out of the zone instance?
* wakie followed by instant death for using a wakie in the middle of Hami.
Or am I missing something?

you know what, that is a good point
although I will try something sneaky this afternoon regarding this, will edit or repost later!
UPDATE: When you self destruct in "The Hive" and select respawn at base, your game client is still listing you as on the "Hive" mapserver, and if you use the base portal, NOT the eden teleporter, you exit where you self destructed. Now this could prove a problem for the raid in that people would respawn under a full power Hami, unless we use some shrewd tactics!
The team that self destructs, should leave one member of their team in the zone alive, to message the detonated members of the team when to return, ideally once a few of the Mito's have been cleared by the other teams, giving the returning players chance to get out of Hami, regroup and reinforce the rest and continue the raid.
Either this is going to be terribly complicated and be of no use, or it might be very handy! we wont know as I dont think its ever been tested!

Well dont think we shall know unless it is tried, so i suggest attempting it on the first hammi health drop,if it works we crack on an use it, if not we bin it and go back to the good old fashioned way...

If we have a team, at each of his HP markers self detonate, then a second team does the same at the next marker etc, then hopefully we can minimise debt etc by having everyone in the cytoplasm who COULD be taken down by the mito spawn, be self destructing to take hami's HP past the spawn marker!
[/ QUOTE ]
So I'm still not sure if I'm missing something...
Is the idea that we can leap past the spawn points and so never spawn the mitos? e.g. when Hami's at 75.001% health we have a few people self destruct to take him to 74.998% health, missing out the critical point of 75%.
Is that it?
Assuming it is:
Ok - I've not read up on Hami for a while (no raids, not much point to raids given the EU desire to raid, so consequently no reason to read up) and so I may be rusty... but...
Surely the trigger isn't the first time that Hami is at 75% health but is the first time Hami drops to 75% or less. So you can't leapfrog the spawn point (unless you leap to a dead Hami - don't think you'd get 3 waves of mito spawns if you took Hami from 75.1% health to zero - now that would be a nuke assualt to see ).
So - have I missed something or could the current SD plan have been dreamt up by General Haig?
btw, assuming I'm reading the 'plan' right, if it was a precise point that had to be hit to spawn mitos (e.g. when Hami is at 75% health) then mitos would rarely spawn. 75% health will be a single figure, most movements to Hami's health will be greater than +/-1 so it mito spawn points would already often be leapfrogged if it were possible to do so. Hard enough even assuming integer values for health/heal/damage...

OK so simply hami respawns his mito's @ 75,50 and 25%, what were looking at is when hami gets to (for instance) 75.5% with withdraw all teams an insert the "SD" team allowing them to go boom, this therefore hopefully reducing the ammount of deaths down to maximum of 7 as apposed to all the teams getting wiped out when hami spawn's his friends again @ 75%
Again not 100% sure on this, but hopefully this will stop people over complicting the matter

lol, no the idea was, that at say 76% hp, everyone NOT blowing themselves up legs it to avoid the mito respawn and promise of debt, leaving the SD guys to push him over the health marker, thus getting hami to spawn the mitos anyway, just without killing everyone pretty much automaticially!

I hope this is the right thread, Dr Bunsen (fire/kin Troller) will attend the function, although no date has been specified
if this is the wrong thread for the hami raid sign up I apologise and I would appreciate if info on where is provided
thanks
correct thread chap, we are looking to try this saturday, but im not sure we are logisticially in a place where we can just turn up and get this done, so we'll set a realistic date of the 16th at 8pm.
Looking for team leader volounteers, as well as open discussion on tactics and ideas to make this a success!

That's what I thought... but it still strikes me as being 99.99% likely to be an exercise in futility. Why bother self destructing there... you may as well get people to nuke there or even just brawl there.

Wow, A hami Raid.
I don't know if I'm free on saturday or not, but I'd be interested in comming along, as long as you don't mind a total hami-raid noob filling a space
Is there a minimum level required? I have a low 20's tank and a mid 20's scrapper that would be up for a fight.
Either date should be OK, although during the day, not the evenings.
Why not just pap your pants and jump away when you see the mitoes - thats what everyone will do anyways.
If we all do this then they can't kill all of us.

The zone that Hami is in has a minimum level of 45 (think it's still 45 anyway...) - so sorry but the lowbies can't go.

Just an updated idea, we currently have a new tool at our disposal for anti Hami work, good old self destruct!
If we have a team, at each of his HP markers self detonate, then a second team does the same at the next marker etc, then hopefully we can minimise debt etc by having everyone in the cytoplasm who COULD be taken down by the mito spawn, be self destructing to take hami's HP past the spawn marker!
