Is there a work-around for the tailor bug?

Is this affecting a character with a skirt, by chance?
I think I have seen what Francisca is speaking of, how many of us check our cossie before we even start?
I have found many times a (for example) 50000inf tailoring fee in place before I have started, the process then begins to find what has been changed and revert it back.
It's easy to identify which section has been altered, but not so easy sometimes to locate the actual change, and the reset button doesn't help in this instance. The most common I have noticed, is the addition of sleeves to an item that has been selected as sleeveless, others I have never found just managed to select the correct one by going down the list until the fee registers at nothing again for that section.
I can't help with a solution other than keep an eye out before you start, but I can promise it isn't just you.
Yeah it's a very annoying bug.
Usually it effects characters with Skirts. Specially the mini 2 and 3 (slitter and box hole cut outs) where it tends to revert to a normal mini skirt.
I've also seen it affect Face detail 1 (glasses) and face itself.
I believe this is caused by the reordering of items in the costume menu. I usually find the reset button reverts my costume to the correct piece.
I really should do something about this signature.
I get this with black scorpions laser mace a lot i go into editor and it's there every time, a mace 5800 and i havent even got the power needed that draws the mace so its very annoying.

Sorry for the late response I was gone for the weekend >.<, but as for the question whether it involved a skirt, no. No skirt, and yes usually if I find the right item I can fix it, but this time I couldn't. I put the item in place that originally was there and the tailor still assumed that a change was made. The reset button never worked for me, btw. I had to reset it manually; and even that isn't always a guarantee to work.
What puzzles me is that my character ingame looked fine, but when I put up the SG mode to change sg colours that same change which happened in the tailor is displaying there too.
This bug exists for a long time now and I'm kind of sad it's still in game. I've bugged it before, not sure I should again.
I have lizard character without ears. That annoyin tailor forces ears to my lizard every single time, when I'm modifying my costume.

Too often I get a wrong part in my costume displaying in the SG mode/colour selection screen when I visit the tailor. Sometimes I can get it fixed by just picking the right item and everything resets and then I can continue changing the costume to my liking. However, at times no matter what I try the same wrong part keeps showing up. this part seems to happen random.
Is there a work around for? I hate having to pay the tailor just so I can change back to default, nor should I have to.
