IO sets for /SR

Hi All,

I'm currently levelling a couple of SR scrappers and I'm really stuck on what IO sets to go for. Usually I know exactly what the set needs for increased performance but this time I'm really not sure.
On the basis that defence can be capped outside of IO's theres no point going for +def
Rechage is always handy for a primary (attacks) but not a major requirement for SR - I'll probably skip Elude - cant see the point unless some one can tell me otherwise
+Damage and End Recovey I uslually count as secondary effects to sets.
That really leaves Regen which is currently favourite in my mind and should be good on a secondary without a self heal.
What levels of regen can I get and is it worth going for?
Thoughts please.

How do you cap defence outside of IOs? Cause I have used my IOs to cap it (without Elude) I guess with Katana and BA you could with parry and DA

I got 326% regen on my Inv through sets aiming for regen but without taking away from the build I wanted, but the lack of dull pain would probably lose you a lot of the benefit I get. I'd only go with regen if you also did +hp

I haven't done the maths on it; I recently read on the US forums that you could hit the cap with the addition of Weave. Maneuvers and the unique +3 def, is that not the case?

Let's see with all the SR toggles and passives plus maneuvers and weave slotted with 3xdef and combat jumping slotted with 2xdef you reach as per Mid's 39.8% which is 5% short of the defence cap, but close enough.

My DM/SRs have a 330% regen rate and I'd say it is deffo worth going for it, but as I said, mine are DM hence Siphon Life is more than sufficient self heal with that regen rate.

Here you are my build so you can see which sets I've used, just switch the primary and tweak on Mid's. I was mainly looking for defense and regeneration, got some recovery, dmg and acc as a collateral effect:

I'm working on my DM/SR Scrapper, and I'm really bad designing builds, I always need someone else's help. I love the build you made Nighmarer, but I've adapted it to my scrapper. I'm trying to build a Speedster. Of course your build has more sense and it's more effective than mine, but I had to sacrifice some things to get a Speedster build and enjoy playing that role. I'd never take Flurry or Whirlwind otherwise. Even so, I'm not sure if my (mostly yours) build is ok for an speedster. I want to have cap run, recharge would be second, third would be defense and End enough for not living with tongue out all the time. Here's the build, any suggestion is more than welcomed.

6 slotted flurry?

You could loose 3-5% def for mele &amp; aoe without noticing in almost all situations, including against AV's.

For my DM/SR I've just copied werner's build for av soloing, it makes a nicish team build but you have to pick your targets etc as having no mele cone or aoe's your pure single target. How ever you can dance around most AV's, GM etc without taking a scratch.
Oh and 1 sec off perma-hasten. But it's not exactly cheep, (I need 2 lotg's and the hetacomb proc to complete.

I'm respec'ing my 2nd build into a softcapped more natural build tonight, if it works I'll post it up.

Hey Fosca,

Sorry I couldn't reply earlier, but just renewed my sub, spent a few months in US servers and in WoW. That build I posted is not active anymore, this is the one I'm using now, which is both soloing and teaming friendly. Regarding your build, I'd change the slotting in Siphon Life since after the changes made ot it in I13, it's a pity not to slot some dmg on it. Hasten on SR scrappers is a pet hate of mine, not saying it is not useful, but the priority for leaving in auto is Practiced Brawler so I'd forget clicking Hasten most of the times, making it a useless choice FOR ME on a SR scrapper. Flurry is as good as any other power for using as a set mule, I personally prefer Air Superiority, but hey, Flurry is the right choice if you want Super Speed as travel power, nothing wrong in that. As per soloing AV's, can't get much better than Werner's builds that you can check in US servers, the man is a genius, but for my taste, his builds are too oriented to just AV vanquishing solo and spending 10-15 min against an AV clicking same 3 powers over and over is frankly not my thing tbh.

Anyway, this is the build I'm using now for Nightmarer if you want to take a look at it. This build proves of course that I am a genius, so I'll take a look at what can I do for my other DM/SR since Focused Accuracy is a wasted power after last nerf and will post it here when I get something I like, in the meantime:

Edit: Oh, just noticed, if you are going to keep Hasten, please remove Flurry and use Midnight Grasp instead, you can allocate the Touch of Death set in Midnight Grasp and you'll gain more dmg (FAR FAR more dmg), you can get Boxing at lvl 12, Whirlwhind (or Maneuvers) at 24 and Midnight Grasp at 32.

With whirlwind you can create a fun concept, just saw a char named Ipkiss on Freedom whose cossie was like "The Mask" and he used to change costume when using whirlwind, was fun

I take some powers like Hasten, Flurry and Whirlwind only for speedster role sake. But I need help for completing and set-slotting a speedster build, I'm not good designing builds...

I can understand the concept and Hasten is great power to have, just uncomfortable on a SR but nothing serious. The only thing I'd change in your build is Flurry and get Midnight Grasp instead, I know you want to do a speedster, but from all the Speed Pool, Flurry is probably the one that fits the speedster concept less, plus bear in mind that you already have Shadow Maul and Sands of Mu.

This is how I'd make a speedster concept, it is of course your choice to go for Flurry or Midnight Grasp, but bear in mind you already have both Shadow Maul and Sands of Mu, the only difference here is that you'd take Flurry (if you prefer it over Midnight Grasp) at level 32, but you can keep it at your original lvl 12 and get Combat Jumping at 32. Note that the 2xrunspeed in Quickness and Swift will make your scrapper faster everywhere and Combat Jumping, besides giving you vertical movement, will also make your scrapper very agile which also fits the speedster concept.

With Dark Consumption and the Accolades, this scrapper should keep hitting for longer than the Duracell bunny, on the downside, we've lost Tactics, I have tried to compensate it with the Kismet Unique. Maneuvers loss is not that important since your scrapper is still softcapped. Also note that Siphon Life is now a high damage attack for Dark Meleers so I've slotted it with damage and heal for the +regen and +HP bonuses:

you could bind hasten to a key often used if you dont mind the missfiring sound? For example the W key.......... I'd hate it, but it gets past the 1 auto power rule
