NPC's for Bases
Selling people isn't very ethical.
But still...

I absolutely love this idea. Let me add some:
7. Receptionist/Scribe
8. Technician/Artisan
Of course they should be able to conserve with you.
I would suggest however that you don't buy them but pay them a salary. Lets say a 1000 prestige each month.
i'm getting GW guild hall flashbacks....wow
/signed anyway.

I like that better, I'll pretend I suggested that
Thanks
I would say more than 1k per month though, but definately less than 10k
Perhaps a tiered system. Students are free, expert mechanics ( who would repair stuff in a non-existent base-raid ) for 8k per month or something.

Yes, hiring is better than buying - only Villains would have slaves
Also, as the mission creator looks like it allows us to select mobs and palce them on the mission maps, it seemes possible that this feature could be added to base editing too, as the tech seems pretty similar.

Why can't they be the innocents you rescue?
In a movie they would be the (good) guys who somehow discover your secret ID.
I guess it's the donor or magical helper...?

8k each is a lot
Also small bases are free so far and get gradually expensive once you enlarge the base. I would suggest that hiring people would go from free (expenses paid by city hall) to more and more as the base grows and the number of people you can hire increases.
They shouldnt cost to much if all they do is cosmetic though. But for those that actually do more then just standing or sitting around looking busy a higher fee would be appropriate.
Hmm one more to add to the list.
9 nurse/surgeon (posibly giving you +10% heal)
I'll guess some more (these are just guesses and not written in stone so give me a break if they are bad).
Tech/Arcane/Natural/Science
1 : Security Guard/Guardian/Bouncer/Cop
2 : Mechanic/Scholar/Musician/Nerd
3 : Librarian/Librarian/Librarian/Researcher
4 : Janitor/Caretaker/Butler/Laboratory Technician
5 : Student/Acolyte/Agent/Doctor
6 : Professor/Arch-Mage/Mentor/Genius

I was working on the basis that some of the non-interactive base-items are 5k each ( large wall banners for example from memory )
Ok ... so they're not charged per month but that's still a lot.
Anyways, taken under advisment
I would say that there should be at least a minimal charge for anything other than students however. After all, anyone who can't russle up 1k prestige a month obviously isn't that bothered about playing in SG mode after all

I was going on the basis of SG's being either tech or arcane, but more suggestions is always nicer
However, as with everything, the more we over complicated we make something, the less likely it is to happen. If I could perhaps suggest sticking with just tech/arcane variants for the moment with a view to expanding that should the idea actually take fruit

33 months and counting of Paragon heroism (and villany)
Onyx: Frostbane (TNK), Vanguard (SCR), Monolith (WS),
Mindswipe (DEF), Martyr (DEF), Pyre (CON), Pulsar (DEF),
JuJinKai (MM)
It's a nice idea but I recall that the devs said it's a lot of work (but my search fu fails)
I think salaried would be good on a scaleable tier.
maybe the first 5 are free then it increases exponentially as you get more
Thelonious Monk
It's an interesting idea, I like the idea of having idle characters wandering around your base though I kind of prefer the idea that it was offline SG members myself.
Still, very interesting
I don't wanna save my soul now,
I just wanna lose control,
And even if it takes a lifetime, to learn:
I'll learn!
I had a similar idea a while ago, but mine was about sg's characters appearing in the base whilst offline. There's a thread somewhere, but my search-fu is super-weak.
However, these make more sense, as they'd be on all the time, and possibly function.
The only problem I see with this is my supergroup laughing at me when they catch me talking at the staff. D:

edited for self-ridicule.
Just been doing some minor base editing and suddenly thought, "Wouldn't it be great if our library actually had a librarian!"
So, here's the suggestion.
The ability to purchase NPC's to work in your base.
Maximum of 2 npcs per size-level of base.
100,000 prestige each.
You can set them to stationary, wandering or wandering and restricted to a room.
Random war_witch comments from them
Choice of 6 npcs ( tech/arcane )
1 : Security Guard/Guardian
2 : Mechanic/Scholar
3 : Librarian/Librarian
4 : Janitor/Caretaker
5 : Student/Acolyte
6 : Professor/Arch-Mage ( could sell you invention recipies like the invention table ? )
I think these would help fill out a base nicely and give some atmosphere to a room.
Open to suggestions for more than the 6 above.
