I dunno, it seems that these days people are just suggesting anything that comes into thier heads, regardless of wether it is really wanted/needed.

Yes, there is an element of that, I admit. 
Even so, adding a "post your suggestions here" thread to the Suggestions forum itself is probably a bit redundant.

What I would like to see:
More high quality suggestions, thoroughly researched, using the search function, completly developed, all implications weighed up, amount of workload estimated, and trade off value calculated (i.e. what would you be prepared to not have while the developers are working on your suggestion).

That sounds like way to much work to be honest. People are suggesting what they think would be fun / good ingame, not applying for a business loan.
Why suck all the fun out of someones idea? As for working out implications, if people worked all that out beforehand what would we have to argue about in the thread?
Fair points, Praf and Carnifex both. What I would like to see less of is one-line (or one-word *) dismissive responses to suggestions.
Not everyone comes from a project management and/or software development background - sometimes a flight of fantasy can make great reading, or at least be a laugh. Inspiration can leap from the daftest of places.
That said, whilst I have anyone's attention at all, I would ask them to have a look at the sticky in this forum. If nothing else it's interesting reading.

Yeah, but JDBarker is new around here so we should probably cut him a little slack - it's not like he's one of the usual suspects who scattergun this forum with poorly thought out ideas that have either been suggested a thousand times before, or would never work.

I agree with you 100% here though. Tbh this forum category is getting so hard to keep up with that I can barely be bothered anymore - I'm on the verge of excising it from the handful of categories I bother to read and post in anymore.

I'd be very suprised if there hasn't been a post like this before but an updated one wouldn't hurt so here it goes, what power set do you think is missing or should be altered. I gotta say there isnt much that they havent included thats in the realms of feasability eg clones/multiplication (Jamie Madrox from xmen) or maybe a sponge/copycat (Peter Petrelli,Sylar or Monica Dawson from heroes) Or maybe an animal shapeshifter. What do you guys think we are missing out on?
