Triage Beacon..? Is it worth the space?
Aye it is better when fully slotted and enhanced properly.
It is a bit or a hit or miss power, I like the power as it does come in handy but more so in later levels then the early ones.
On my Bots/Traps I took it when it was available as I didn't really want the pulse rifle attacks, but on my Thugs/Traps I took it at level 38. I wanted the gun attacks on her for concept, plus handy for slotting sets for recovery bonuses, and from my previous experience of taking it early, as it was handier later on, made it easier to skip till then.
Oh and welcome back from WoW
I would suggest Aid other and Aid Self on both characters for healing and think of poison and traps for everything else. Alkaloid used several times in a row depletes the endurance bar quick. You can each then better manage all pets and yourselves and have greater self sustainability if soloing somit. I'd rather aid other pets than set them up again.
On Poison; I find, I find? Everyone seems to avoid the Poison Trap. The traps version of poison trap is better. Everything else with poison is afaik considered worth having.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.
The Triage got some uses at late levels, when properly juiced up.
In fast moving teams it will be next-to useless, since everyone move away from it. Recharge is bad for such a static power. And it's not going to save anyone that take lots of damage.
It's of use in conjunction with bodyguard and semi-stationary tough targets. Or stationary long fights.

Whats "soloing"?!
Seriously though thanks for the advice so far, think I will bin it if i get a respec handy in the near future.
It's pants on fast moving teams, and it's fairly pants if you've got henchmen that prefer to melee.
Bots/, Thugs/ and Mercs/ get very good use of it when they need to "turtle up" though. The big strength of Triage is it's uninterruptable and it doesn't get destroyed or mezzed. When taking on Bosses, EBs or AVs (or even just big mad groups of foes) my Bot/Traps has found it invaluable. Pop Poison Trap, Pop Acid Mortar, Pop Triage Beacon and let the minions do the rest...
(maybe drop a webnade or a trip mine if you feel like getting your hands dirty)
Take all traps powers except detonator as soon as they become available.Triage Beacon is great for soaking up dots like longbow flame attacks, tsoo caltrops, etc.
I hit 41 earlier today and took Black Scorp's shield, with 3 sets of blood mandate slotted in my 3 pets (6 slots each) and with the shield gen,my shield and maneuvers running I have 40%+ def to all attacks.I can easily solo EB's spawned for 5 man mish (aint got round to an AV yet).
I also have a 50 AR/Traps corruptor and a 41 necro/traps,I have never subscribed to the aid self/aid other argument because seekers can take the alpha 95% of the time leaving u to drop poison trap, etc in safety.
Also BG mode helps loads as well
Enjoy Bots/Traps cos it gets better and better as u lvl
I use it when fighting a Hero with my team. They don't move anywhere as it takes a while to defeat.

Personally, Acid Mortar, Force Field Generator, Poison Trap and Trip Mine should be taken when available. The rest in my mind are easy to skip or delay till later.
Seeker Drones are probably more useful for a /Trap Corrutpor then a MM. Poison Trap and BG mode is enough for me to take alpha's.
My necro/trap at 50 never took and never will take that beacon thing.
Its hardly that i ever stand still that long to a. cast it, b. get my pets in range to use it (they melee mostly), c. get used to the recharge of it. In the same time pets heal themself, i got aid other or just pop a green.
I however do have all remaining /trap powers, even detonator (extract soul ftw).

It's Healing that heals everyone constantly at a slow rate (Unless you correctly slot it)
Anything that helps the team in some aspect is worth while, also the Triage Beacon can really help out your henchmen.
IMO Triage beacon should look similar to the (sky raiders) forcefield generator and follow you around for it's duration.
As it is, I tend to use it by players who are resting as it helps their health boost faster especially if they have to drop rest due to a forced combat situation.

Yep. Only other way to improve it would be to increase recharge dramatically ( IE less downtime between Triages ), but then you would have to limit the number of Triages out, or the regen would be Godly.
It's actually supporting bodyguard nicely. But I don't think that applies for let's say, a Traps Corruptor. Floating Triage would be completely in tune with the blaster turret upgrade. Because the static Triage does not serve man, robot, or other quasi-sentient entities, in a capacity suited for today's fast moving society.

I find it (like Spirit Tree) good in AV fights. If you have 3 or 4 of these running, the maths is.. impressive...
I like it in a way I don't like Spirit Tree. 90% of the time it's a waste of space. But camp myself and all six bots on top of it, and ensure the battlebots and assault bot all have >40% def (I need the IO for 45% and that thing never shows up in the black market).
On the other hand, if I'm soloing and facing something less impressive than a purple Elite Boss (or aggroing four relentless spawns because I'm bored) there's not much point to it. And if I'm facing four purple bosses at once (in my defence I thought the Rikiti in the aura mission would attack his captors, not his rescuer) my bots aren't going to get much use out of the triage beacon as they are trashed too fast.
But the real advantage of Triage Beacon over Spirit Tree is that if I drop a Spirit Tree I only heal a few people. If I drop a triage beacon, I heal a minimum of 7 at L26+ (and if I'm holding the aggro in Bodyguard mode, all the bots are going to be lightly damaged).
After coming back from WoW, my wife and me have embraced the whole Citys thing once again, but with a deeper understanding of the various roles we have rerolled most of our toons. As we always play as a pair, we usually try to compliment each others characters with both looks and more importantly powers. When it came to creating masterminds, we thought it would be cool/nice/*insert appropriate word* to play those together, so when she took Poisons for the healing aspect, I chose traps for the wide array of Debuffs. Somewhere along the way I picked up the Triage beacon, which now a few levels later seems pretty lame. Is it as lame as it seems, or does it come into its own once I start slotting DO and SO? All feedback welcome.
