Random Crashes / Freeze problem.
I did a full ITF last night without any crash. And that is a system heavy TF. So the one crash I got maybe incidental.
The PhysX is greyed out still even though I have the PhysX engine.. but I am now running on NVIDIA drivers without problems.
Still I am afraid that it is not completly gone. NVIDIA may have fixed some of the memory/power access problems with the new (now beta) drivers. And I have hardware that is tested ok. So this is a acceptable situation for me.
If it escalates I will go back to the Omega drivers.

I'll mention this again, because I'm getting REALLY frustrated with people continuing to reference it.
The PhysX option for CoX is currently only for those users who have an Ageia PhysX card to supplement their normal graphics cards. It is for a separate piece of hardware. The PhysX technology built into current graphics cards is NOT the same, and is NOT supported by the PhysX option in CoX. If you do not have an Ageia PhysX card you will NOT be able to enable the PhysX options in CoX, and this is WAI.
The situation may change as CoX's engine is upgraded to account for newer graphics cards, but right now, I'll say it again: If you do not have an Ageia PhysX card supplementing your normal graphics card(s) then in CoX the PhysX option will remain greyed out. This is not a fault. It is Working As Intended.

nah, it hasn't worked, already seen the BSOD again because of this bloody nv4_disp (sigh).

Hmmm, changed RAM voltage to 1.95V and had no crashes today after 5 hours. Managed to stay 5 hours without crashing before, but never in a TF and tonight I did Synapse, hopefully I'm getting there.
How can I change that RAM voltage? That's something I have never tried before.

It's in your BIOS settings. Not every motherboard will let you, and you must be VERY careful with what you change. Look up your RAM online and do not exceed recommended settings.
The only reason they advise adjusting voltages is that, these days, most automatic settings will run your RAM at lower than recommended voltages. This is fine for most things, but some hardware will insist that other hardware is running properly.

I used the overclock utility in the ASUS MB CD since couldn't change it from BIOS
I've used my ASUS cd too, it has an utility called PC Probe II, which is giving me warnings about CPU temperature all the time when I try to use the game, even when I'm just standing, not moving nor fighting, I'd like to know what's a safe threshold for it, it's set at 65º C atm, so: is it right as a threshold, or shall I set it higher or lower? and... could I have an overheating problem? if so, what should I do to solve it?
Thx in advance

I have probe PC too but that's not the one I mean, it is called AI Booster.
Not sure if you have an overheating problem andno idea how to solve it, I don't dare tweaking anything else than the RAM voltage and it will stay as it is, 1.95V because so far it has been three days including two TF's without crashing, never happened before since I have this rig (about 1 yr ago now).

What's your CPU? There are plenty of places online where you can look up the safe operating temperatures for it. If you're at 65c though, you should get a better cooler.

AI Booster? I'll check again but I think I don't have that Utility in my CD... if not, I'll search on the internet where I can dowload it.
And FFM, I'll check my CPU version and I'll post it this afternoon.

Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9300 2.50 GHz, 2 GB RAM. According to PC Probe II:
- Voltage: 1.2 V
- External Clock: 333 MHZ
- Max Speed: 3800 MHZ
I must say that the actual CPU temperature is 51º C, after the whole morning using Emule but nothing else, not typing nor playing at all, I'll be updating with anything abnormal.

51c at idle is pretty warm, you might want to check the airflow to your PC and inside; make sure the cables aren't getting in the way.

Well... I'm actually using both the game (I'm simply standing in Grandville) and Emule, CPU temperature is fluctuating between 58º C and 66º C.
BUT I'm wondering... CPU temperature is related to my nv4_disp blue screen problems in any way? If not, I'm worrying about something trivial. By the way, should I update my Nvidia drivers from 175.19 to 177.whatever are called now?
EDIT: I've been on a Recluse SF, or at least I was on the team that has played it, because I've missed Crimson and most of the Vindicators because of my nv4_disp BSOD... I lost my count at the 8th time, it's a shame from Nvidia, this is NOT the way it's meant to be played. I'll try to update my drivers one more time, and if the next week I keep having problems, as I bought this computer only 3 months ago, I'll carry it to the technician, and I actually don't mind if he can mend it or change it for another one, even if I have to buy an ATI, this is madness.

Ah, I have already given up and going to format my pottie... today. I did every suggestion I've seen in the NVidia and Anandtech forums, plugged the computer directly to the wall, tweaked teh voltage of my RAM and even replaced my RAM for a new one with heat disipators incorporated... nothing worked, I still get kicked out of the game and have to reboot if I want to log in again.
This is back to XP for me until they fix the issue on Vista I'm afraid.
Updating... after installing the beta drivers, I've been able to play a full Cimerora tf without any problem on Saturday night, however last night I've had 3 nv4_disp BOSD during a MoSTF attempt (which concluded successfully YAY!!). I'll check my agenda and I'll look for a proper date to carry my computer to the tech service.

Or not... for some reason it won't allow me to install XP, I start from CD, format the whole HDD and when it restarts to install XP a message appears "Error on loading operative system" so, once formatted re-installed Vista and let's hope a fresh install works. Also realized that, the guy that built my pottie didn't plug the fan at the top of the case, fixed now, plus none of the chassis fans are connected to MB but as I am going to replace fans anyway will fix this soon enough.
I noticed something weird last evening; I checked my drivers version, and saw that nv4_disp wasn't signed by Nvidia (??).
After half an hour looking for information on the internet, I found out a way to update my driver by using the control panel of my OS (XP Professional), and since then my driver version (175.19, btw) is signed, and now, whilst playing, my screen is working intermittently, but no blues screens yet.
I'll update it with any change that could happen.
