SCRAPPER CARNAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Each has their plusses and minuses. BS and Katana are pretty much alike, Katana is faster and a bit weaker, BS is slow and heavy. MA looks damn neat. All have their ups and downs, what secondary are you thinking?

SR definitly
Go Broad Sword. Parry is nice to have on a SR and the attacks pack big enough punch to carry in PvP. Also Quickness negates BS's main weakness quite nicely.

aye, i'd say BS as well.. aside from the parrystacking and quickness, with /SR you can get quite a bit of +rech from IOs (presuming you got the money), which in the end will completely negate BS' slow recharges, meaning you'll become one hard hittin scrapper.
Problem is however, that your blue bar will probably hate you
"god, how many devs did hami have to sleep with to get ED?"

[/ QUOTE ]Unless you're slotting everything with End Reducers this is true until you can get Stamina. Even after Stamina you'll be watching that bar like a hawk.
Why not Claws? They're fast, versatile, cost little End and do respectable damage in pve.
hou does claws do in pvp ey?
oh and what would be the best in WP vs SR?
SR for both PvP and PvE and WP for PvE. Claws does great in PvE, huge DPS, great acc and dmg boost with Follow Up, low end consumption and great recharge, no idea about in in PvP.
And heya Steampunk, long time no see ya posting
Hehe. Aside from some nerf herding last month, there's not been much to comment on lately. It seems like the boards are in limbo, awaiting a hint of next issue content.

Claws is a no no in PvP. Among SR and WP, I'd go SR for duels and zones, and WP for team pvp

I see... good luck
But WP's only really strong in a tight packed group. I would give my respect to any scrapper herding in PvP though. Without some serious use of sets I cant see WP being that survivable, unless the point was PvP requires a serious use of sets (probably true)
Mind you SR can be overcome by tohit buffs............. with a serious use of sets though............ the good PvE scrappers seem easy to overcome in PvP, who'd have thought it
"Well, they found my diary today.

They're now putting it all together.

I guess there's a way to overcome every single AT in PvP. Anyway, I don't think I was that wrong pointing that SR is good for both PvE and PvP and WP is more advisable for PvE as general advice. If the question had been more specific such as "please define which set goes better for Arena, Duels, Zone and team PvP" then I could have been more specific or simply had said nothing.
WP is more advisable for PvP imo. SR just don't fit well in PvP: Scrappers and tanks get FA and BU, blasters get aim and BU, and rad trollers and defenders are the ones used 95% of the times for duels (and SR really can't cope in team PvP), besides illu and mind trollers neen't be rad to hit thru elude...
So, a huge majority of the players pvping vs you will hit thru all your defenses without a problem, and without the need of sets... and you have no resistances (but the really tiny, scalable ones that are a complete nuisance) and no self heal...
WP is a really bad combo for PvP too, but it has much better resistance than SR, so it's more suitable, imho.
I was just thinking neither of them were that great personally but at least SR gives +recharge and its last power leaves you hardly ever running out of end (yes Rad can break elude with EMP)
I guess Regen's probably the best scrapper for PvP, which is a shame cause its such a dull set to play in PvE, hence my comment on the good PvE scrappers are bad PvP ones. That said the only two duals I've had were both against MA/Regens and I was DM/SR. One no one died (and it was dully) The other I killed the regen once (and it was dull. Strange when you're just glad the fight is over)
If I ever make an alt for PvP it will probably be a blaster or a defender. Scrapping's just no fun with any of the characters I'd want to play

SR is AMAZING if you put Purples in it, near Perma-Elude.. otherwise, most things can hit through the Defences with ease...
I have had Katana and Spines... I would say not Katana unless you're purely doing 1v1s. Spines can be decent in Zonal, especially against squishies, but Broadsword is the biggest hitter.
Regen is probably the best with relatively low money, I wouldn't reccomend Invuln, WP is good against melee, Dark is iffy at best, SR can be great but again is affected most by enhances.
lol i was wondering hou a DM/SR would do in pvp with the -acc and the +Def fromt the 2 sets? oh and hou does spines do in pvp and whats a good set to put with it TY!
Just on another note I read earlier - claws does ok in PvP..
yes greatly resisted - yes no BU without first hitting the target but focus & Shockwave give much needed range damage that other sets fall down on.
Not the FoTM but alot of people that face my claws/regen are suprised at the damage output it can give.
It's not an easy PvP choice and not the best in numbers at all but it can be used well witha speedy focus strike to boost damage while your tracking down the mvoing opponenets.
Or at least this is my personal view!

DM is one of the crappiest primaries for a scrapper since it has long activation times, but mainly because it lacks a good build up in pvp. SR is the second best seoncdary ATM IMOP, Regen comes out on top with SR FAAAR Behind it. Fire Armor is going to be decent though.
Spines is the best scrapper primary. It doesn't have the highest damage but it has decent damage and above all it has range.
Claws isn't that good. It would be ok if it had a normal build up but it requires you to be able tohit someone with a melee hit and it also requires the attack to hit.
Hey all my sister decieded she wanted to try coh and she got her head set on making a scrapper i was thinking she should take katana, broadsword or Martial arts the char will be pve and bit of pvp until lvl 40 from then on it will be more pvp less pve so if ye guys could just gimme a few pointers on what to take couse i doint know mutch about scrappers im more of a blaster. .
