Repusion bomb change
Knockdown... this is going to be a must-have power, it really is. Wow. Better than a smack round the head with a shiny shuvle.

It's a shame that Repulsion Bomb won't benefit from containment, would have made some nice damage if paired with the slightly less offensive controller primarys like Earth or Ice! Still sounds slightly better than what it is at present though
That will be a weird repulsion bomb. Not sure if would like this change if I were a knockback fan.

I've seen plenty. Most likely they pick it for concept, but I find it a fun power myself.
I think this time the Devs are ignoring the concept of the set itself. Force Field should be all about keeping stuff away, deflecting, repeling and knocking stuff back. How in the world should a "repulsion" bomb cause knockdown? They might have to change the name of the power cuz it will no longer make any sense.

It repels you from a vertical position to a prone position. The damage is caused by being flattend into the ground.
If you don't like it you could still have it as a knockback power. It still takes KB enhancements, and enhanced knockdown becomes knockback.

Lovely then. I don't have any FFer and I'm not planning to any time soon. I was just trying to figure why would they break the concept of the set.
And to me "repulsion" still is all about blowing foes away. So either they should change the name or the animation of the power (say the hero punches the ground and the force bolt comes off the ground and hits the foe right beneath his feet).

The concept wouldn't really be broken... the repulsion bomb goes up in the air and drops down flat on the targeted ally, so knockdown is almost more conceptually sound anyway.

Is Repulsion Bomb the targeted ally? I remember seeing the arcing ball flying into a mob once and can't recall an ally in there.
Oh well, moderate damage and knockdown, working with concept, get a tank, brute, scrapper, or hell a blapper in the middle of it all as a target and it's raining gooballs in the near future.

It used to be targeted on an ally but it was changed to target mobs a long time ago.
I don't know what the animation is like, as I said earlier I've never seen anyone use it.

I asked about the ally bit as I think some text is still out of date, but what's new about that?
The animation is the same as Rad Blast's Neutron Bomb; form a large bubble then throw up into the air, it arcs over to them and crashes down with a kinda flattening out explosion.
At least that's what I remember the one time I saw it.

Yup its the same style as Neutron Bomb then the mob scatters backwards and sideways, possibly being disorientated for half a nano second it seems
The text really needs to be updated as that ally part was changed so, so long ago.
Now if they could only add resistance to sleep (if only lol) to Force Bubble and some extra defence (say upto 5%) be great

I still say Sonic Dispersion should have Sleep Res, I mean it's a bubble of music and as I live under a guitarist I can tell you music keeps me from sleeping.

Makes sense. But then you would have to add -Def to the set since music/sound distracts you, making you lower your defences or making it harder for you to focus.
Overall, I think both FF and Sonic Disp sets are well balanced.

Seriously, I do find both sets to be alright. Since you're a PvPer you might have higher standards than I do tho. My xp at PvP is very little so I won't even argue in that field.

Sonic can't possibly be balanced, my Sonic/Sonic dipped her toe in Siren's a while back and a Spines/Regen (with a very high opinion of themselves *SHOCK*) wasn't able to slaughter me. I assume I got petitioned for haxing.

It's balanced then. Or would you prefer to get easily killed? Scrappers are not meant to kill just about anything anyway.

Just thought I would give a heads up based on Castle's posts on the US forums. for FF defenders. Further to Repulsion Bomb being given damage (currently on test) it is also being changed to knockdown, and will be alowed to take damage enhancements. However, it will not benefit from containment (controller version).
