As usual, the best pvp primary pool is energy. Ninjutsu is a good secondary. You'll meet a lot of clones, however.
But you won't be able to defeat a granite, without a lot of red inspis (a melee at just can't kill a granite) ^^

Any stalker primary is good, don't get pushed into energy melee like so much people. Your original job is to kill squishies and lethal damage does that just fine, scrapper fights are doable if you are carefull. The thing that makes energy a bit too nice, is the mag 4 stun you can put on someone without getting noticed. But dark melee has an amazing fear, spines/claws both have a good ranged attack and katana/dual blades/martial arts have some hard hitting attacks that could do a good job if you approach them with some skill. If you are new to stalkers and want to pvp, the only thing I don't recommend is dark armor as a secondary. It has some nice tricks, but it seems more for pve. Choose something that suits the character you're thinking about, cause whatever you pick, you're the one who has to watch it for 50 levels.

It's possible to kill a granite though, it takes a long while and the only thing you should use is assassin strike, because of the unresisted damage.

Martial arts has two stuns, and is WAY nicer in PvP than Katana (and everything is nicer in PvP than Dual Blades for stalkers), and therefore shouldn't be said in the same group, especially as you said that the best thing about EM is the stun.

@Rooks

"You should come inside the box... Then you'll know what I mean."

Get a chance for stun IO for something like Golden Dragonfly - does the same thing, it'll drop Acro off a squishy via mez easier than stacking a patron hold twice.

thanks for the input peeps I went with em/da before i read this though got to level 7 so far and its wicked, but after reading /DA is bad for pvp that dont sit well with me :S

also can someone post up a good build for EM/DA please for me to look at so I know im on the right track thanks!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Posted

Meh now I feel bad I said DA could be more for pve. It can be good I think. If you play it smart, you can combine the stuns from EM with the stuns from DA and detoggle that granite friend of yours :P

Welcome to stalkers The best (in my opinion and experience) stalket to pvp is EM/WP. Then its EM/Nin or EM/SR. After EM is Dark melee, works good with /nin /regen and /wp, but has a hard time with /sr, but that works too. After DM is claws, lethal damage and extremely fast. Its gem is focus, a high damage ranged attack. Other primaries are not worth rolling for pvp imo. For PvE everything works.

anyone with that build for em/da? im a little lost with it lol

MY Dark/sr stalkers were allways fairly handy in pvp and pve, though I never tried them in pvp above Sirens call.

I just rolled a new stalker em/nin shame coz it was a waste getting the first stalker to level 18

I think there is very little info about /da for stalkers, most of the info about the individual powers can be taken from mids, guides about /da for scrappers/brutes with a few differences.

Em/da i can see as being very end heavy, and probably not the best in pvp, but I dont see why it wouldnt work, its just a case of making it work. But then for me, /da never made much sense of stalkers anyways.

Essentially what I did was I had no travel power on my leveling up (mayhem temps ftw!). Think I finally respected it in once I hit level 28. I also only had Barrage (unslotted) and Bonesmasher untill level 47 when I took Energy Punch.

I love my Stalkers and this EM/DA combo has me thinking of a possible new alt Seem to recall some US PvP's saying they actually skipped on the two shields and only took the mez protection one in favour of phase shift

I see only have one travel power is that the norm with stalkers coz I went with hasten and I am now leve l2 with the intention to take super jump at some point?

Unless you plan on PvP-ing alot more than doing PvE, I'd never go for two travel powers on any AT. Just personal preferance really - I'm in the camp that thinks a power in the primary/secondary has more value than a second travel power

Yeah. Being able to get to the mission a few seconds earlier does not bring you victory in battle.

I really should do something about this signature.
