This forum is far better suited to a "talk page" than the wiki will ever be. Wiki's are intended to be static resources of information and really can't handle being used as a forum for conversation.

Nobody is suggesting using the Wiki as a forum.
However, the forum already has sticky listings of supergroups and roleplayers looking for other roleplayers, and the criticism has been that it gets old fast, and due to the editing restrictions, can't be updated.
To that extent therefore, the wiki is LESS 'static' than posts in this forum. The point of a forum is to be 'of the moment' and once that moment is past, no post content can be taken at face value without confirming it is still valid.
Rather than repeat the entire thread every month, it makes sense to store the information we get from this discussion at the wiki, where it can be updated at will, by anyone, and kept valid.

Ammon...come on. People are doing it and it's fine. I'll be adding to the Wiki as we go, but at the moment, people are fine with the idea and we're rolling with it. If it's not beind handled the way YOU think it should be handled, start your own thread or your own idea. Banging on about the recordkeeping takes away from the main concept at the moment, which is about people who want to start something more gritty. We'll worry about the fluff-recording later.
And now - fluff recording! The global channel has been created: RP-Roundtable for anyone interested in coming in and kicking around some story ideas and networking. For those who are already full up on global channels, if there is a particular storyline you are interested in, please just go ahead and use tells, emails, or what have you in order to coordinate times you can meet and discuss things at your leisure; the channel isn't mandatory.
Oh, inspiration strikes! I've been trying to think of a reason or some sort of IC way for my character to be able to link all of y'all to one another if anyone needs a hand. While looking over the "Little Hand from Beyond" thread I started, I realised I wanted to have some names in the book Ragefang gave Jean-Luc which contains contacts of one kind or another. Now, in the grand scheme of heroing, Ragefang wasn't one of the big names, but he knew a few people on both sides as it were...if people are willing, I can put the name of interested characters into Jean-luc's "little black book" as a prospective contact. In this guise, Jean-luc can then put everyone in touch for one certain story or another which may need a hand. Some people Jean-Luc may be familiar with, others he may not know at all, some he may look forward to seeking out, others he may rather just punch them in the face than have a conversation - either way, what do you folks think about that? If the idea is a "go" we can explain things that way to make them flow a bit more and move the connections more to ingame reasons why people might interact with one another - as I've had people say they want to try and interact with Jean-Luc but they don't quite know how to rationalise doing it.
Ammon has a good point. This thread serves its function now, but by the nature of the forum mechanics it will get old, it will be outdated and in two month's time the information value will be minimal if no integrity checks are made.
However, until then this thread works well. It showcases certain points, it brings people together. It's a banner to rally under. In two months time this banner will be obsolete but it served its purpose.
By that time, in my opinion, the fluff recording should be done and dusted with. Wiki page and chat channel are for that. I admit to only done cursory reading but I think this may have been Ammon's point - trusting only this thread to float all necessary aspects of this project would backfire in due time.
I'm sorry to say that I have no channel slots for this and I already need to kick Union OOC for a project channel that will be needed since tonight. Unless I rely on badgehunters for mothership raid info, which might work.

Hmm... Novastar is a new arrival to this dimension so he's out for the book idea. Tiger White is a catgirl and unlikely to associate with anyone of a canine persuasion ( 
), but she IS a very well known hero in the city, and one of the most powerful Kheldians in the city. Tiger Dark is less well known and a reformed Nictus; but again unlikely to associate with canines.
You could probably put Tiger White in there as someone Ragefang knew of, but not actually associated with.

Actually this is a good SG concept, sort of the Dirty Dozen with capes or like Marvel's Thunderbolts if you want a superhero reference.
Open's a lot of RP avenues as well as you have a group of heroes who'd be the center of everybody's attention. Public, or the media waiting for them to slip up (Check Synth's Headliner bits in the Supremacy thread). Authorites watching them like a hawk (maybe even having their own superpowered agent on the team as a liason, or even a mole). Traditional heroes being jealous, distrustful, or even encouraging depending on the individual. Villains wanting revenge, trying to recorrupt them, or even wanting to take them down before attention turns their way etc. Lots of possibility there.

Concerning the Supremacy thread which has been mentioned a couple of times... While there is a central story running through the thread the idea is to get others who may not necessarily be specifically involved to post reactionary pieces. The Headliner pieces are one such example of that.
While Supremacy does focus on mutants the reality is it can impact on anyone as shown with Pin Pointer and Trace, two natural heroes.

Anyway the point is, it's not necessarily a closed plot, and even if you're not at the core of it you can still probably be involved.

Minor adjustments... used a little correction fluid.
I have two solid heroes, both Hand of Battle and Sparrowsong, that I run most often. Sparrow has fallen by the wayside for now while trying to hit fifty on HoB.
When I11 is released (unleashed?) I'll be skinning up (*grabs rolling mat*) a villain Roleplay character by name of Cammie Flage, operating under the handle Rumour. She'll be hopefully rejoining The Corporation villain group. And so my altitis will divide my full attention thrice.

Cheers for that, thanks - I've done some updating so people can go and have a look there. We spent time roleplaying in the "red area" of Pocket D and found to our surprise it's nearly completely uninhabited, and spent a fair portion of time roleplaying there tonight as well as getting some storyline going, so worth keeping in mind for RP if people have had entirely too many cases of alt-itis to use Fourth Wall (though I'll be creating a Lookalike alt myself probably).

I suggest using Category:RP Roundtable which makes it far easier for peope to add themselves, profiles, plots, etc as needed without needing to edit the main listing page.))
