After my latest dabbling with the base editor, I thought I would share some pictures of my labours. Hope you like this little tour of our superhero base. Maybe others would like to post stuff on their own struggles and successes in the base editor

I'm loving the maze idea. <runs off and copies idea> Perhaps put a little hidey hole at the other side of it. If you want to get there you must be worthy! :P

2 parts, actually.
the ground part is indeed in the arcane set.
The ceiling one is a light, though... even if it doesn't give light...

Wooden Posts, and Wooden Hangings, one of which is in Arcane set, yep GG. Took me over 10 hours to build (lag between placing objects mostly.) I recommend you plan the maze out prior to building one yourself.

love the maze that would be a great way to hide an iop or anchor if they ever bring raids back in our lifetime

Only just learned how to do that myself - I came across how to 'float' objects over on the US forums a couple of days ago.

You can place objects on desks, and then drag the desk to another room and delete it (or use it in the room for floating objects there, or drag back again.)

For raising the height even further, you can place... desks on desks.

Basically, you arrange 3 desks in a rectangular formation ( 2 side-by-side with 1 'capping' the other 2 ). Then you can place 2 desks ontop side by side, drag out the lower layer, then build a new lower layer to place the final 'cap' piece on the 2 you've got floating above. Then repeat, building upwards as far as you want (or can manage before it gets too irritating.) A large stone block fits ontop of a rectangular 3 desk layer perfectly.

Raising the floor to maximum height first also helps of course - then you can lower floor, repeat with some floating objects if you wish, then lower again.

You can also float turrets (as you may also notice in our teleporter rooms, with the rune circle placed underneath), and several other things. Experiment - I still am, heh.

I wasn't actually planning on building a maze - although it looks quite fun.
But it'll have to wait till summer next year anyway, when I've saved enough for the next plot size

I love this. Well done on the design - the look and feel makes my base a poor show (which it is).

A couple of questions:

<ul type="square">[*]What plot size have you used? [*]How many TPs have you got (we aim, and now have TPs to all zones, as it seemed the most useful thing)? [*]Are you willing to post a shot of the base layout, so I can see how rooms tie together?[/list]
When I get sometime later I'll try to post pictures of our base, as I'd love to make it look better while still remaining useful.

Again, looks cool. Can I come and play with your group? Our leader smells.

I think it's one of the arcane control providers, maybe the equivalent of a tech super computer.

As it goes looking again its on the cieling so its probably the Arcane version of the Autonomous Expert System.

You have to create it from base salvage, then add it via "add personal items"

The 'pretty lights' are indeed the mystic version of the Autonomous Expert System, the Orrey. Took a lot of our salvage and hefty chunk of prestige for that - 6 million prestige roughly I think, cos needed a big control room to fit it in as well. The tech version has a slightly smaller 'footprint' so can fit in the 3x5 control room, whereas the Orrey needs the 5x5 room at least. I think it was worth it though.

The base is on a 16x16 plot, and we've got 11 teleporters (4 in one chamber, 7 in another) covering all the current Paragon City zones available, plus a Raid teleporter. I'll get an overview pic of our base up here tomorrow.

While reading this i came up wit the idea for an architect comp for base design would love to see how some of the other larger sg's go to town with their base's.

Think ill add a few screenies of the Bachiatari's base to this post as soon as i find out how to add them to my post if any1 cud tell me that wud be great

Hehe I remember when the big supergroups bases tended to be top secret (well most big supergroups were looking at raiding and items of power).

Gotta say, I love the maze idea. As long as your SG new the layout like the back of their hands, you could really do a good job of defending your base if that was an obstacle that invaders had to face. Bravo!

ye if only dark lords had some stalkers to take advantage of it in any way shape or form but just imagine how you would feel sloging round that maze to run into a couple of thug mms landing all thos pets on your head
