Fat and Chubby
Also, Great Grand Uncle Sexy Jay has said it would require new skins for every single costume piece, so it's not going to happen.
@Jay Leon Hart
Kerensky: this has nothing to do with underwear
Zwillinger: I put on my robe and wizard hat...
Synapse: I had to resist starting my last post off with "Yo dawg!"
Which is funny since a costume piece he made actually modified the female body.
So *cough cough* at that.

What one was that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Bet you would love to know that.
Now... How much would you be able to pay me for that information...
Anyways... Bikini 1.(using bikini 1 as a example since there is 2 and 3 aswell and easy to compare)
Bottoms with skin.
Look at it from the side and change between bikini 1 and 2.
See the difference?
It is like that on several bottoms with skin patterns.
Slightly irritating honestly.
And for those lazy people that dont want to try it.
Bikini 1 got more curved legs, Looks a bit more real in my eyes.
*edit* +1 *edit*
Do note I did not change my board name etc because of this thread...
I've just looked at that - there are 2 types of female legs it seems. Those that are "normal" and concise, and those that are "skinny" and concave. The curvature seems the same though, so skins would (appear to) fit on either frame.

Not in CoX, as has been mentioned, it would be far too much work for too little pay-off.
Champions-Online and DC Universe Online looks like your best bet for alternative bodyshapes.

A couple... like the Blob, and then there's this! *giggle*
personally i don't think it's worth the effort to make fat models, considering the amount of work having to get done and i imagine there won't be awhole lot of people who'd make em.

No thanks. If I want to see a man with a paunch, I'll look in a mirror. Additionally, fat heroes + spandex = increased requirement for mind bleach.
Additionally given the current obsession with health and obesity, even if it was something the majority of players wanted, would NC necessarily think it a good idea to promote and / or glamourise it by including it as an addition to a computer game?

And enable females ingame to be so thin they are considered to be anorectic is... ?
Pro-ana is much worser than "promote and / or glamourise" fatness.
Just look at the models these days. They have banned models that are to thin.
so if we go by your statement the devs should remove the ability to make skinny characters.
The characters are never that skinny.
It's also possible to give the illusion of fatness by manipulating the body sliders and using baggy clothes. For some reason it seems to be easier to do this with female models .

Was more of a counterargument against the whole "being fat is unhealthy".
But it really is just an evil circle ingame.
To thin or too fat... I say let people create the characters they want. Some will of course complain whichever option you choose.
And yes. Females actually have a easier time to look fat where the males just look... Bulky. (females do however have a hard time(read as impossible) time getting fat arms and legs... I know there is something called wasp waist but a wasp ankle*snicker*)
I should know. Two Ton Tina got everything but the chest on max.

Dear gods I think I'm in love.
If Two Ton Tina could be half the woman she is I would start playing the game again.
Honestly, Chatarsis, change you avatar! I can't take a damn thing you say seriously with that there. It's hard enough as it is, but that avatar makes it impossible.

I'm not commenting on what is or isn't socially acceptable. Whether you like it or not people that are unhealthily thin don't get the same media attention as people that are unhealthily overweight. Additionally, overly thin characters can be made as part of the existing character models, whereas overly fat people cannot. This would have to be, therefore added as an additional feature, and / or model and be advertised as such. This advertising would almost certainly be jumped on by a health obsessed dogooder as "promoting unhealthy eating and obesity". Not terribly wise in the current climate, that's all I'm saying.

Just kinda lacking argument there.

Same thing can be said for overly thin people. Just change obesity to anorexia. Because I can assure you that they do not eat healthy. (no pun intended)
And sadly people can not and will not see the difference between a game and the real world so I know that this is a lost cause.

You're missing my point entirely. If overweight models in this game were introduced, they would likely be advertised as a new feature, would they not? The bad press this would almost certainly generate would almost certainly make NC think twice before introducing such a feature.
The fact that overly thin characters can already be created is irrelevant because it's something that's part of the existing game, and therefore doesn't need to be advertised. Given also the bad press generated for doing so, it's unlikely ever to be so either!

Did not miss that point.
and as I said It would only cause a problem since some people can't and will not see the difference between a game and the real world. That's the main problem. Not the fact that being obese/anorectic is bad.
And those people often being parents and journalists... Those lovely and impartial journalists...
also if they did create a big scene about "now you can be fat in this game" then they might discover that you can be overly thin and... Say "omg thats hot"... I'll shut up now.
(I did say it was a lost cause.)
They often say that the character creator in this game is the most comprehensive in the MMO industry(which it isn't but thats not the point), and limiting it with only letting people look thin and healthy is just wrong.
But that is ofcourse my opinion.
And Bertha that Scarlet_Shocker linked to. She is a hero but was considered a freak because she is obese... which creates all sorts of twists since she is a super model.
Should she be considered unhealthy because her power is becomig fat? And then also because she is a super model and most likely is on a constant diet?
(and reading through all this... Did I really write all this... nonsense?)

No, you quite obviously have since you're still blathering on about the social stupidity of one form on unhealthy eating being treated worse than another.

Very, very true. However, ignoring this fact and saying that just going ahead and saying "we now allow really fat characters," and just assuming no one will jump on it and say it's promoting obessity is stupid.
I don't think you're that stupid, Chat, or nieve. So live with the fact that this isn't the place to be discussing eating disorders, and computer games should not be used to try to solve them either.

I take all of what you say on board, but the above is the only sticking point for me. Personally, I don't think limiting characters to being slim and healthy is wrong in the context of this game. People associate super-heroes with being the epitamy of human athleticism - I hesitate at the use of the word "perfection" because of the inevitable implications the use of that word would have. Even the excessively thin characters we can make now, still have well defined musculature and are a world away from the rib cage prominent gaunt features that can be seen on pictures of those that are unhealthily thin or anorexic.

you are right in that heroes are usually seen as the "epitamy of human athleticism".
There are ofcourse misfits that does not.
Like that Big Bertha. she goes both ways here. One way is being a cliché stupid anorectic super model and the other way being obese.
And yes. The costume creator might not be able to create a truly anorectic character.
And to make a really quick link.
But if you compare how thin you can make a character to how fat you can make it you see the difference.
Fat ingame is well muscular.
Thin ingame is wasp waist. (which should not allowed muscles)
I wanna see some fat and chubby heroes please.
