Was I wrong (newbie wentworther)
No. No you weren't wrong. In fact, for me this is a test case for permitting PvE hero-on-hero attacks that cause the loser's keyboard to electrocute them.
Had he taken the recipe, built the wings and swanned about in them while thanking you profusely, it'd be a different matter. He was clearly taking advantage of you in order to cash in on your ignorance, seeing as how he didn't mention or even hint at how much the recipe was worth and he paid next to nothing for it.

Totally correct. And very sad, I must say. I guess it's one of the inevitable drawbacks to the invention system...
Thanks for the replies, I know it sounds like a straightforward ripoff but his level and unconcern for what he had done confused me.
I'm just glad I never had any use for those wings. Fairy on a robot? Not in my head

But what if it is a magical robot? Or a pixie robot? Did you ever think of that?

Im sorry to hear about this incident, it reaffirms my belief that if someone wants to purchase something they should work to buy it, or get lucky fast.
i never give influence and i dont care if it makes me look like a tight wad, if you work hard why should someone else take a shortcut just cos they have the balls to look like a no good beggar. i worked for every bit of what i have now and i believe everyone should do the same.
And with the amount of people begging, Heroes auction house is quickly developing the same annoying trait i saw everyday in WoW which is an awful shame.
Before Inf became useful I used to get beggers spamming me in Atlas so I had a bind ready telling them they could have 500k if they could tell me a joke in local that made me laugh. Not hard you would think but ppl just couldn't be bothered even doing that.
Though 1 guy did say:
a Brute walks into a bar
the bar said 'Ouch'
which I thought was quite good
Oh btw I'll give you 20k for the demon wings
I have so far managed to ingore most of wentworths..Though I think I now have all the selling badges, I like to think that my selling stuff for allmost nothing makes some one happy when they get what ever random bit of junk it is they are after for so little.
Personaly I have no value for most the stuff, If I can get it in a drop then why pay for it?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not condemning begging. As an eternal lowbie, I'm never going to *earn* the wings But this goes beyond begging. It's like the guy has walked up to your table in Eddie Rockets, Taken a bite out of your burger and then asked you to hand him your napkin so he can wipe his mouth. He needs kicking.
I don't think I have 30K for the Demon Wings, but if you're willing to loan me it then that's what I'll bid!
I find Atlas and Steel is where i get most bothered. This is why i generally do business in the Talos Island WW as by then your gonna be lvl25+, in which case you can make a good amount of money by doing missions, and selling all salvage/recipes on Auction and also the enhancements at the designated shops.
The only time i am in Steel for long periods is waiting for salvage to be bought for the invention badges. and being lvl48 people automatically think you will have copious amounts of influence to splash about .. when in reality i dont even have enough to get anywhere near the Field Crafter Accolade.

Hehe just a coincidence that the incident happened at the Talos WW
Oh and are you saying the different Wentworth markets are not linked? Or just that fewer people beg in Talos?
This is one of the reasons I stay away from heroes almost completely. Villains are - for some reason - nicer imho!
Anyway.. The cossie recipes will now be in a separate "drop pool" so anyone that wants them will have it easier. That should get the prices down pretty fast so with some luck He'll keep wasting inf by putting it up on AH, getting it back to change price and putting it back up.
All hero markets in EU/US are joined together, and all villain Black markets are joined together, nice touch if it wasn't for the techs being in US on US time!
Btw.. Have to ask: What was the no-good "hero" loosers name?

Sadly that would fall under the forums name and shame policy and would result in this topic being deleted
contact me ingame @limbo if you want though

No as far as i know all the Hero markets are linked including those on the US servers, but NOT Hero/Villain. Would be funny to think we are buying and selling from and to villains!
I would have to agree that people are nicer, tho id call it mature, on Villains. With the exception of the last time i logged on to fight invasion and someone was pestering us all to fight Deathsurge instead of the Rikti constantly throughout the battle. Not really getting the point that it would still be there once we'd sent the Rikti packing.

i do exactly the same my view on the whole IO / ww is not favourable, but thats just my opinion , city of del boy come to mind
Ok sorry if this is in the wrong section (this happened on Union though)
I was with a group on my 41 Defender doing some invasion bomb hunts when I was introduced to wentworths since my recipes were full, looking through I noticed I had the fairy and demon wings recipes and was promptly whispered by one of the lv20's asking to buy it off me for 10k and then later if he could loan 75k that he would pay back
Now I have 4.5mil on this toon and had no use for fairy wings so I agreed only to hear later on team chat that they are worth over 2mil, the person who bought them didnt say anything and I didnt want to cause a fuss
What made me lose it and ignore him was after a quick mission he went back to Talos and asked for 100k.
I then asked what happened to the 75k and turns out he had been trying to sell the wings I gave him to buy a different set and had took it off (wasting his listing fee) to put it at a lower price since they hadnt sold during the 20min mission
I said no, put him on ignore and logged off as he whispered constantly through the 30sec logoff
Now was I wrong to give him the cold shoulder like that? He was apologetic about begging for money but still didnt seem to see anything wrong with what he'd done concerning the wings
