Doctor Helios shared a look of acknowledgement with Big Lunk, and fingered the lock on his briefcase. He sat back to hear what the council made of this new information.

Cactus looks suprised as Drade displayed the photos of the gate like device.

Chewing on the cigar he mutters 's just what we need RikTis we can't shoot down'

Jakob rises to his feet. "Ac you know, my team - *ahem* - my team has been looking into the radio anomalies detected since before the invasion. It appears as if the Rikti have a number of forward posts throughout the city from which they are able to weaken our infrastructure, including the war walls and teleportation grid. We have yet to locate any outposts, but we are working on it. The base with the gate Drade found might well be one."

The discussion had begun to revolve around further tactics, next stages of the war, strategy planning and other practicalities. Coile checked the time. He was due out on a HeroCorp assignment rather soon. It was time to deliver his message and take his leave.

He got up. "I see the sense in non-aggressiveness in the actual warzone, but other than that, the treaty is over for us. I didn't like it, I don't like it, and now it's not needed any more. That's the stance of the Silent Tempest. Whatever decisions I make, they're my personal ones."

Bastinado saw his opportunity.

“The Watchmen are out too. History can be the judge of the merits of the treaty, but it’s served its purpose. My team have things to attend to; and certain people having this treaty to hide behind is going to make things messier than they have to be.”

His face was as emotionless as steel. “If the Rikti situation changes, I may reconsider. But that’s my final decision on it at this time.”

Twilight seems to be uncontrollable and visibly excited by the news of the treaty breaking, seen by a large smile gowing across his face. "Bussiness as usual then, I can tell that stupid machine to get off my back..." he said, to noone in particular.

Lunk chuckles to himself "Well, I'm glad to see your support for removing my workers from the streets, gentlemen. And although the treaty is not in effect unless the Rikti strike again, do not consider that those who broke its terms will not be punished retroactively... but lets not dwell on this matter. All those in favour of a counter strike to help destabilise their military elite, and possibly buy us time before their next offensive, say 'Aye'"

A grim smirk rose to Coile's face. "Aye, I'm all for making sure they don't get a foothold again, but don't count on Tempest to be in the treaty automatically. It'll be considered again, if similar circumstances take place."

Lunk looks around at the apparent silence "... in all fairness, i was hoping for a little more enthusiasm. I shall arrange among my people details for an assault, and let those who interested know how they can assist... as for the proposed memorial vigil at the hero corps building... i suppose the hastiness that some of us had to lower the treaty suggests that's a bad idea. I was hoping as we thought together, we may remember our fallen together... now is there anything anyone would like to bring to the table, or shall we call this to an end?"
he looks purposefully at Coile. It was at his suggestion the council reconvened, and Lunk had some hope it was for a reason greater than to publicly announce his return to business as usual.

It was perhaps foolish to do things in this order but it was honest. If there was going to be any co-operation it would have to be on its own merits without any artificial treaties. Coile decided to lay the card on the table.

Although never having worked out the gaming analogy he wondered quietly if anyone might have any neater cards, and what would happen then.

"It's the mothership. One time I was asked to lead a group of metas and scout around the defenses. We managed to knock the shields down and even inflict structural damage with explosives before the Rikti got the shields back up. It seems to me that all the grief is somehow centering around that ship. If we could stage another attack against it, and perhaps do more... Maybe we could have a real effect on what they do."

He glanced around the room hoping that this would yield something concrete. "I'd like to know which fighters from each group are willing to take part in this kind of an assault, and, if their leaders are able to vouch for them. It's going to be a rough ride anyhow. If we get enough names we need to knock together a date and ...well, do it."

Leading his own team was at times hard enough, or with honesty, too hard. Now he was trying to put together a group effort with people who were more or less natural enemies anywhere else than when putting a dent into the Rikti plans. Coile shrugged apologetically. At worst he would have to pull together a team in the warzone.

"Mama!" Kelly babbled, looking up at her mother with her large, brown eyes. Zorielle sssh'ed the toddler and then smiled, looking over to Coile.

"Looks like I've been recommended, I'll offer my services to help out." the older woman said with a nod of her head. "As for the memorial, should it take place on Friday, I'll more than likely attend, if no pressing issues arise."

Twilight laughs. "So now you wanna attack the mothership? Hmm I wonder if anyone else suggested that before and mention it's their base of operations.....hmmm.. I 'm sure someone did.... " he said smiling to Coile. "Count me in, I'l love to nuke the mothership"

"I'm in." Said Rachel.

Drade lowed his head and closed his eyes, before grabbing at his device and pulling back towards him.
"I will.. be unable to attend anything on the friday. There is something else i must do." He looked up at the others in the room, "IF you are still in need of my aid or council, then call me on my communicator, i have left the number on the table."
With that he got up and walked towards the door of the room, glancing at the twins brifly before leaving.

The doctor nodded in Colie's direction.
"Indeed. I believe the mothership to be the key...but not in the way you imagine. I have reviewed Vanguard combat logs, and I have seen how the Rikti rush to it's defense when the shields are breached. If we were to seriously damage the ship, they would repair it in time. However...while they are defending the ship, other, more vital targets may be left vulnerable..."

"Ok, ok, we established the rikti protect it and that we should attack it. The question is when?" Twilight said looking around the room. "The rikti now are now using guerllia tactics only invading certain zones certain days, whic says to me two things. 1, they are short on resources and can't launch full scale invasions, 2, they are harboring they're resources for something bigger.Either way I think we should strike sooner and later."
