Forcefield powerset

Does any1 else feel that the forcefield powerset could be made too look a bit more impressive?? i feel its very dull and boring looking. Also the Force Bubble power is generally a waste of a power, u can't get too use it cause most players complain about knockback, if it was made too be impenetrable with higher defense an no knockback it would be more useful. What u guys reckon?

Just stay out of melee - problem solved.

Kerensky: this has nothing to do with underwear
Zwillinger: I put on my robe and wizard hat...
Synapse: I had to resist starting my last post off with "Yo dawg!"

Oh yeah cause thats fun lol

Then turn it off ^^

You can't expect them to change a great power just so you can use it in melee

[Edit] Just to add, they can't make Force Bubble "impenetrable" because that's what PFF is for. This is a Defender set, not a Tanker one [/Edit]

Knockback powers are fine into the nearest wall (always away from other enemies). As soon as things are taken to a wall people get how useful kb is. Now objects in missions like storage racks need a fix cos when i "box" mobs under the lowest shelf they can end up passing through the rack to the upper shelf which is complete pants.

Use it to keep them in the corner of a room, nice for team mates with aoe builds.

I've just tried all the powers from the FF set, with the noteable exception of Force Bubble (I wasn't high enough lvl). I think they all look excellent, some of the powers are addictive for the animation alone, with great sound effects too. Come on, which other set has such a visually loud/impressive presence?

Ok ok, perhaps there are a few others but FF is great!

The one thing I'd like to see is attacks actually being stopped by the various bubbles; if it's a beam attack, it ricochets off the surface, if it's bullets you get the "dents in surface" effect on the bubble rather than the toon.

As long as you aren't too precious about getting the angles mathematically right it shouldn't be demanding on the client, and IMHO it would look much more super that the current "foe misses wildly, 'Deflected' text appears" system.

Totally agree, Standoff. Many players don't realise how the buff helps. This change would make it more obvious as well as making things so much more fun. Don't need accurate ballistics, just flashy effects plix

I'm very happy with the Force Field Set and I think Force Bubble is absolutly fantastic. I agree they could look better though, I remember when there was a graphics bug that made the bubbles look blue I think round i7, I thought they looked so much better during that time lol.

Something i have always wanted since the first day i played this game!!!

I am finding my bubbles/dark defender amasing.
Very aggressive to play, much like some of my corrupters, and primary buffing powers that you dont have to keep using every few minutes which is great.

Its such a nice change from playing empath, to be able to run around swatting stuff, safe i the knowledge that you dont have to buff your team for a few mins..And that you're not stuck to their [censored] like a poor empath.

The ONLY thing I would like to see different about the FF powerset is a different colour bubble for PFF and Detention Field, so people can tell them apart from the rest.

Well Detention Field has that ring effect around the captured foe but it does tend to get slightly hidden once Dispersion Bubble is over it. Tho its unlikely to happen and look downright silly, I'd love a big arrow and the words "YOU CAN'T DEFEAT THIS ENEMY FOR NOW" under the captured target

I like to stand next to the untouchable enemies doing a funky dance along with a message to the team not to attack this one 'till the lizard stops dancing

You always have been more than a little strange though

They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.

Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"

Great idea. I know I wouldn't mind a bit of clipping or whatever for this effect.

My only complaint with the Force Field powersets is invariably I'm the most damaged one on the team. :P

Totally agree with the fact that force bubbles should be made like they are solid... Th eabove ricocet animation or absorbed bullets would greatly enhance the look and feel of the set in total.

btw.. My defender only uses the ff powers that also buffs himself.. and further relies on the energy blasts and concealment set.. making him hard to kill at times.

Its just that it takes him long to wipe a villain from the map. Still the set is pretty nice.
