HAY GUYZ LETS DO A HAMI RAID
[ QUOTE ]
I have to agree, I thought it was fairly well advertised. I knew about it and my highest hero on union is 33....
Give me another 2 months or so and I may be close to coming along and helping out next time. I know that is pretty slow leveling but it is just another alt

Same here, well, maybe less than 2 months, looking forward to join Hami raids in Union

This post only recently resurfaced to the frist page in union heroes, also chatting in the channel is one thing, but perhaps you should actively look for people and ask them to join from utside the channel, as im sure a fair few have left it since we stopped the regular raids.

Man, Union is complicated

Probably would have helped if the raid had been advertised more before the night, after all a lot of people aren't free for 4+ hours on a tuesday evening any old week.
[/ QUOTE ]
How could we have advertised it more? This post has been up for more than a week, and I've been chatting about the raid in the Union Hamidon Raids pretty regularly as well.

It's been in the public eye, there were over 50 poeple in the channel at the time of the Raid itself, and we were talking about the raid quite consistently in global channels, broadcast, request, arena for a few hours before we even went in to the Hive.
Fact is I (personally) think that people have been put off by the repeated fails, which is always a problem when the Devs throw a curveball at the community like the new Hamidon.
And I really don't want to start any Defiant/Union animosity, but I was surprised by how few we pulled together for the Raid in comparison to Defiants, considering that Union currently has a much larger population than Defiant.
As I told to Xanthus in-game, the fact that he was waiting me to re-surface it at the forum and also that he didn't advertise it to MOTD of the channel, probably was the problem. Also the mandatory use of TS scares people away...
Those are just my opinions. They don't have to be the real reasons of the failure.
I saw the talk on Union chat so as soon as we quit the States TF ( we got ganked ) I headed to the Hive to try and help, but everyone had already gone
I miss the old friday night Hami Muffins, yes it was a formulaic raid system, but it was more enjoyable than the new die die die die die die, die some more, get used as a corpse baseball bat, die die die system lol.

OK so Xan's a bit dumb on that count. <_<
We only ask people to listen on teamspeak, infact, it's easier if no-one but raid leaders talk, it just makes things easier to co-ordinate and can really speed things up. The raid, with a full turn out, shouldn't of taken more than about 2.5 hours.

Tbh I was also scared on the 1st post I9 Hami Raid for that, specially not being English my native language, but I have to say it really speeds things up and as has been said, ppl are only required to listen

Tbh, the die die die die is the funniest part of the raid nowadays. The reward is meaningless since now you can get HO's on STF, Eden Trial and of course, you can buy them at Wentworths. The Hami Raid is meaningless reward wise, but is great fun to gather 50 peeps together and tease faceplanters as well as you will be teased on faceplanting plus let's not forget the broadcast hilarious chat
Maybe the devs should change Hami raid reward into TWO HOs of choice.. I havent done new Hami and I dont know if I ever get around to again The change was a sham.
I want a hami burger!!!! And i would of turned up but i was watching Hot fuzz and didnt even know about the raid tbh as i dont often read forums *hides* But ill be there for whenever the next one is just send me tell @Free Spirit or @Free Spirit. as i have the worst memory :P
Agreed, the time it took for the first victorious I9 raid with Lost Samurai was by far a most enjoyable experience, but with the time spent doing it the reward was really small.
I know this was because it was the first Hami raid ever for some and the first I9 raid for some too (including myself).
If the estimated time is 2.5hrs then that makes a big difference, and it probably could be made a more regular event. but 7hr slogs are not gonna be top on ppls Friday night list each week.
Tbh the need for TS is not necessary .. with regular and good leaders for each group, tactics and actions can be coordinated very easily. And as I'm sure i read in an above post, those that cannot understand spoken English well will be at a hindrance.
if it is true about the estimated time tho, i would love it to be a regular event again. I know the days of the URPG Team are gone, but its always fun to just get together and have a laugh

Which is why I'm looking forward to the RWZ, I10 event and the new TF. Plenty of opportunity for some URPG teaming, I miss the good old days myself, little things like seeing
"always relieving to see the PG watching our backs"
on local chat as we'd run past or just the banter on the Guard Channel ( I'm so gonna set that up again btw ) was as much fun as the raid itself. I miss the old days with Lost, Raz, Streekz, PA drop team etc

The PG would help, as my plan method involves at least 5 co-ordianted scrappers, this didnt work well on our first try as several of them were naturally uncordinated and a couple left without saying anything.
also although there were over 50 people in the channel, i reckon a good dozen or so were simply old raiders who haven't bothered to remove it. quite a few of us stay in it for the hope

it would appear so, also since these are your raids xanthus, might i suggest you make your own channel for it, much better way to keep track of those who want to join them, rather than around a hundred who are in since i started leading em back in november

if you read that sentence again with the bit before you uoted, you'll see he's referring to "being in hope of the old style raid coming back" and staying in the channel for just such a day.
Myself included.

Screw it. I can't be bothered to try.
Massive thanks to everyone who turned up. I'll carry on leading raids on Defiant, where the atmosphere is much more pleasant and people are much more inclined to lend a hand.
Oh no... What have you done...
Wait GG to see that...
btw lost, did you get my PM, spoke to Raz last night and he's quite keen! As for raids, I'm not sure I'd be so ready to die repeatedly considering the reply I've seen here to what I consider, just misread sentences.
Bring back the Hami Muffin Raiders I say!

lets go for it, and xanthus, i think people may be more inclined to lend a hand on your defiant raids because there have been so many, considering you had yet to lead a union raid it was unlikely people would jump at the chance to follow you.
announcing it in all caps on arena probably didnt make you look to good either.
Im sort of interested to see what its like but I dont have Hami-lvl toons on Union so itd have to be on Defiant.

Plz don't give up m8, the main reason I'm trying to lvl my main on Union is to be able to do STF and Hami Raids, but I'm same case as Hammerfall, not in lvl yet. In the meantime, I'll be pleased to join any raid you arrange in Defiant.
Wait a sec, why am I being nice to Xanthus? Oh man SHUT UP AND HEAL
