Kin/NRG
That Energy will knock your anchors for heal, buffs and everything else around WAY TOO MUCH to work good with Kinetics...
Yep, you'll have your work cut out.
Knockback is a bit of a pain generally and especially for Kins who like tight groups for Healing & fulcrum shift.
Synergy-wise Kin/Rad for the fulcrumed AOEs & -defense or Kin/Elec for sapping works well.
Kin/Dark may suit a magical type too and gives extra protection via the -accuracy debuffs in the blasts.

Same thoughts exactly. I was used to use energy for magic bolts but later discover that radiation blast is more magic like. And -def makes you hit anchors more. I think energy works better with Dark in sense of magic.
But feel free to try, if you like keep the hero if not delete and re-make. Oh and there's a great thing about KB, if you use it with hover it became Knockdown so you won't live so much trouble with anchors.
Knockback is one of the two major annoyances I find when playing my Kinetic.
I would get incredibly annoyed with myself if I had energy secondary.
Rad and Elec both work well and are pretty easy to play. Elec if you want a sapper, Rad just because the defence debuffs compliment a primary that requires you to hit to be effective. Rad also has a completely awesome nuke (so does Psionic). I also think Sonic would combine well too (I've never seen a Kin/Sonic, but on paper it's a good mix) combining damage buffs with resistance debuffs for all round great damage output.
Unfortunately, of all the secondaries, Energy is probably the one that has least to offer with Kinetics primary.
Thanks guys, I'll give Rad a try
I have a Kinetic/Energy defender and I actually quite like the sets and how they work together. I specialised to the single target blasts and using a combination of the first two blasts (Power Bolt and Power Blast) plus Power Push I was able to move the bad guys around to where they were needed most... it took a while but I eventually got quite good at moving mobs to heal blasters that didn't move in when they needed healing.
The problem with Knockback and Kinetics is when that knockback isn't controlled and mobs just go flying about all over the place. But if you are the one doing the knockback, and you think about where you want to knock mobs to it can be an effictive combination IMO.
Un controlled knockback is bad, controlled knockback is good. If you're willing to fiddle around with possition and power use then Kin/En can be an awesome combo. I'm not, so I dont like En. Unfortunately it seems most people aren't bothered with it that do play Kin/En, but it can be done well (Psygon's being a good example, Powernova used his well too)

My kin nrg also has repel and its like playing keepy ups as long as ya aim to kb in one direction and always to a wall its great! I am simply the best person i have seen bounce mobs around with repel. Having seen how people mindlessly use repel about my other toons they didnt persuade me to avoid it but had shown me how not to use it.

I love my Kin/Energy... and my Energy/Kin Corr
But then again, I have a love for KB

Thinking of rolling a Sorceror type guy and thought Kinetics makes a good representative of a non offensive series of spells and NRG is good against CoT right? Whaddya think?
