As for the "overcome" the damage penalty of granite with rage, please refer to my previous posts. I.E. raged non-granite will do more damage than raged granite.
[/ QUOTE ]
So?

So Granite has penalties.

Oh, and looking like you have elephant poo on your feet - that's a penalty as well surely for nongranites!?

But turning the story around, i can tank 10 times more then a non-granite can.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is a strangely common misconception about granite tankers. What exactly makes people believe that a granite tanker can actually tank that much (or that a non-granite can tank only that little) is beyond me.
Fact is that a granite tanker can survive more punishment than a non-granite tanker without outside assistance (although not even close to 10 times more), but I guess we all know that surviving is not tanking. So, in teams with insufficient support the granite may actually be better at tanking just because the non-granite does not survive as long, but with support appropriate for team size and mission difficulty both will be equally survivable and the non granite will be more efficient (for tanking and dps).

If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.
And there we go again.. what is tanking discussion. Words taking way to serious and be commented the way they see it.
Serious there is no single kitten alive anymore after all the 'what is blapping, what is tanking, taunting, healing sux, theme builds' discussions. Discussions with serious no end at all, but everyone try to show that he is right.
Oh well, as i'm typing anyway:
From urban dictionairy:
The "tank" can survive longer while taking damage than the other characters. Ultimately, the tank needs to be able to occupy the agressor without dying. The method employed, whether avoidance or absorption, does not matter, as long as the tank can mitigate damage in some way.
And that i see as tanking.

Being the last one standing in the reactor room with granite aid self and you name it but with no aggro control capabilities has led to everyone running out of awakens and in hosp but nevermind it still means that the tanker has satisfied the urban dictionaries classification of tanker...but would forever be a planker in my book.
No AT should ever be immortal and therefore have an incentive to keep the team upstanding.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

Also, as long as you can take damage from 17 foes, any extra survivability is pretty meaningless.

Well, with fast 'aggro juggling' and using tricks like Ice Patch you can even manage some more without much fear of retaliation for the rest of the team, but that is something granite tankers are not exactly better at than other tankers.
But your emphasis is straight to the point: over-survivability is as useless as overdamage and overhealing, especially if you sacrifice other factors in order to achieve it. And granite is over-survivability in most cases, sacrificing recharge and damage at least.
So, regarding the OP's topic I would definitely not spec for perma-granite.

If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

Which part of this is in contradiction with what we said?
You sound like a broken record.

Your replying to Cognitos reply to Synergy X so this all looking weird from my perspective and scaring me XD .
The -speed aint a prob worth bringing up as most stonetanks either have their pocket kin sidekick (or is it actually..the stonetank is the kins sidekick?
) or tp self. I put concept over efficiency as i see the game as more of a tool for a comic book story that we can create and escape to for ourselves than anything else. How we play not what we play matters most.

I know all granites look the same, but does that also apply to size and shape or does body type/size make a difference?

No, all granites are of same size.
Does tough and weave (fighting pool) work with granite? If it does, is it even worth having?
Yes, they both work. Tough is fairly pointless if you have Stone Skin as you'll already be at the S/L resistance cap. Weave is probably useful to give a little defence against Psi whilst in Granite but considering how strong granite is normally, you probably don't need the extra 7.5% defence when facing much else.
I knew this Invuln Tank who got Invisibility as he said it was his only defence against psi.
True story.
@Rooks
"You should come inside the box... Then you'll know what I mean."
Well, it does give a better defence than Weave - he'd just be a pointless tank whilst using it....

), its only a dangerous affair if you or your having to is a consequence of what you or the team have to or needlessly do to make it so. I wont go into "how" cos the days when things seemed magical, extra challenging and i was saying "omg, omg" were all great and people should have that. If I did a guide on AVs saying so and so does this at 5% so and so does this at 10% so and so does this at 20% and so and so does this at 50% etc then that would be spoilers.
An Ice/Ice against infernal would be a dangerous afair, for instance.

Mostly i dont really see dangerous affairs except those of our own creating. The real thing to fear is the team itself.
