Some advice from you old hats please !
Spines or Broadsword are best for the main PvP zone [sirens] SO QUICK GO MAKE ONE YOUR BE UB3R!!
katanas damage output is great, it doenst have so much of the slowness of broadsword.
Claws really comes into its own when you get focus and shockwave. when i was teamed with a claws/DA it seemed endurance was the real trauma on the build.
@ExtraGonk
sorry i know that didnt really help any
i think the two scrapper primaries play much different, claws strengths are in knocking down the opponent and fast attacks, the use of the build up attack really helps to amp the damage up too.
i've finally succumbed and made myself a katana scrapper, they are only 6 so i cant talk authoritively on them however it was watching the supreme damage from other high level katana scrappers that made me want one

It really isnt that uber mate, ive got 2 lvl 50 Katana/Invul scrappers, the damage is ok, but nothing special.
Hi,
I am afraid I don't have much experience in PvP, but I would go for katana which deals far more dmg than claws. BS delivers even more dmg than katana, but it's longer recharge times for attacks and that may be crucial in PvP.
Regarding the secondary powerset, for PvP I would go for /Inv instead of /DA for endurance reasons. My advice would be you to create a Katana/Inv for PvP in Sirens, but if you want to do /DA then I would recomend you BS/DA. I saw once a BS/DA in action and the guy with Head Splitter and Build Up delivered over 1000 dmg on a single blow to Tyrant in the Rescue Statesman mish, so I guess that kind of damage must be helpful on PvP.
I've found Katana damage to be very middle of the road, certainly not as noteworthy as Broadsword or Martial Arts. It's a nice all round set, some AoE with some solid single target attacks with reasonable end costs, looks swish too
Divine Avalanche is a handy power for boosting your defence but as a result works better with SR and Inv where it can stack with your existing armour. Stick with claws and see what you think, with DA tapping your end out as it does the lower end usage set might work out better...
The pellet with the poisons in the Vessel with the Pessel, the Chalice from the Palace has the brew that is true...
Well Im not a major PvPer but as I said in another thread I think Ive only ever seen one other Kat/Dark in my time so Ill do my best from one of the few times I took my Kat/Dark into the Arena.
Katana is mainly light damage but fast recharge so its better suited for more prolonged fights. When fighting in the Arena, it seemed that the emphasis is on burst damage, attacks that do a lot of damage in one go rather than over time. Plus its lethal damage and most melee toons will have resists in place. Death Shroud will help you get in a little pure Negative damage but probably not enough to help that much.
Dark Armour is all toggle based so I found they could be knocked off with stacked stuns i.e. if fighting an Energy based opponent. And although Ive heard that Cloak of Fear can be useful as Fear is infrequently resisted, its base accuracy is so awful I cant see it being worthwhile. Other people may disagree.
Personally, I find the combo very, very nice in PvE but I got spanked royally in PvP but then Im not that good at it so maybe thats why.
Hope that helps some.

Katana damage ... Middle of the Road?
How on earth did you come to that conclusion?
Katana hits hard and has a relatively quick recharge on the main attacks. The ST damage on the top tier attacks is very, very good and the DPS is comparable with Broadsword.
There was a thread comparing Katana and Broadsword last year. Look it up and have a read.
Middle of the Road? ... Sheesh

In dps terms including multihits its pretty good. Id call it more of an all rounder myself.

To siren's u need a ranged attack because figths are fast and not static so claw or spine are best way. For secondary regen or SR, maybe better SR for +perc and with a small purple insp u got already a minielude on.
If you are convinced of rolling a scrapper for sirens, go Spines/SR, with aid self and tactics
Hi all
I would like your thoughts and comments on a new scrapper build please. I would like the scrapper for PvP (Sirens) & as a good mishes player too if at all possible. Im looking at;
Katana / Dark Armour or Claws / Dark Armour
So far i have done the Claws / DA and got it to lvl 10, but before i go charging into the high lvls i want to make sure ive gone the right way. The thing that is putting me off is that i dont see many claws scrappers in sirens at all and im worried about my damage potential i will be able to do in later lvls. But two friends of mine have said to stick with it as the Katana is pants for damage. The trouble is i cant keep thinking the sword would be better and give me a better plus to my defence and it looks as if it would be fun to play. Please help me out here im sort of stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea.
Thanks for your help in this crazy matter
