All Blaster Team?
8 man anything could work well/better if they're built to play together.
I wouldn't join an 8 man blaster team for uberness, just for comedy value...
The Precision Rangers on Union, a all blaster SG, have had some pretty good teams with high level blastery. It's quite amusing when it gets too AV's.... who's tanking again?

just imagine 8x Defiance Nova
would be fairly easy to achieve too: 7x grant invis and then all fall from a big height then Nova - STF final mission done in 5 seconds

[/ QUOTE ]Even if you were going to use inferno (Which is more powerful than nova), I still doubt you'd get anywhere near killing an AV with 8 nukes.

Pre AV regen boost, 5 of us took out Battle Maiden. A mix of holds, immobs and pets did the trick.
The Reservoir Dolls, an all AR/Dev theme Sg on Union, has been going for a while. As a team they're pretty effective in pve. Granted we haven't faced an AV yet but it's only a matter of time.

I'm pretty sure that team would destroy an AV.
Each /Dev'er can get down about 9 Trip mines is it?........then a lil pull........pop goes the weasel.
But indeed, all-Blaster teams are pretty intense, although post-32, it's pretty much
"ooooo look, a mob.....ooooo look, someone Nuked it..........ooooo look, we need a new mob"
......over, and over and over
So whenever the Rangers roll out with our 50's we've made it a policy to ban Nukes (unless comedy value is needed).
But you wouldn't really need all 8 Blasters to run Maneuovers, just get one kindly */Nrg Blaster to have Power Boost and Vengeance..........if someone bites it....instant 50-75% Def.....and that's possible from level 20 onwards....

Multiple Caltrops and ignites should be enough to take an AV down pretty quick. You can use 8 Smoke Grenades to get a decent to hit debuff too, despite only being a 3.25% base.

Each person lays down 5 trip mines, thats 40 trip mines in 8 man team, snipe the AV so he runs into em, surely that would blow his 24,000hp damage off.
Each person can get down ALOT more than 5 trip mines. Something in the teens I thought.
If 8 people layed down 5 trip mines each to kill an AV with 24,000 each one would need to do 600 dmg...
can they do that?

I wouldnt think so, even against an AV with no s/l or fire resist.. Could be wrong though, but remember they also have an acc check so not all going to hit.
The main problem with this tactic that I can see would be when you come up against AVs with huge s/l resistance like Marauder. Id like to see it done though

My /Dev alone can lay 15/16 tripmines and a timebomb and then pull. My tripmine is 1 acc 3 dam 2 rechg and i hasten it. I made people wait for me to lay them before AVs just to see how much damage I can do and how much fight duration i can lower the fight by, and only the village idiots prevent anything from reaching them. I don't have much doubt in my mind that an all /dev team can instantly drop an AV. 3 min setting up and a pull to the mines and it should be over. You would of probably been fighting for longer than 3 mins. Pull when the arrows are down too. 8 people could be 120 trips (120*superior damage + 8 timebombs of extreme damage). You may not need the time bombs but timing a foe to a time bomb isn't too hard neither and the trip mines can be turned into time bombs.
Id love to be there when ya do one btw and I have always said it can be done. I am New Dawn Ar/Dev lvl 50 on Union and would happily like to join the SG an all.

Id feel alot safer just making a very laggy boom for a second than waiting for some streakbreaker.

7 blasters will fulcrum shift and Sb
For that matter, 6 Blasters, an Ill/Kin troller and Sonic/Sonic defender!
6 Blasters doing around double Fulcrum Shift's normal damage due to sonic's mob -resistance, all with tanker level damage resistances and full mez protection (Clarity and ID). A potent heal with mob -Regen in Transfusion, Speed Boost for +Recharge and Transference to keep the blue bars topped up.
And if that wasn't enough you've got Phantom Army and Sonic Cage to take care of an AV's Alpha Strikes.
Now that's a team I'd like to see in action!

Not quite, but you can easily put down 15 on your own. A third of their damage (if they don't crit) is Fire.

The point of the Ill/Kin was to add soft control, with a little bit of tankage and a serious buff in damage to other players me thinks. Not solo.

Illusion was mentioned by Maelwys for PA. Try tanking AVs with imps . And if you have 7 blasters with Fulcrum no one would notice the imps' damage anyway

Just an idea....
If you had 8 blasters all with manuvers the def you would get when it is slotted about be about 48% which is pretty intense, if they had aid self also this could seriously own...
