Could someone explain what the "Mez" actually does? Do I gain with it defense against something? It might prove to be useful, after all.

Also, is there good sense in putting rech / +tohit / def buffs into aim / build-up, or would I waste the def buff for nothing?

The 'Mez' refers to any kind of status effect (Hold, Sleep, Stun, Immob..) and they increase the duration of that status, regardless of the power (you can put an Acc/Mez in Total Focus to increase the Stun duration, or in Char to increase the Hold duration or in Electric Fence to increase the Immob duration).

With 3 recharge/tohit/defbuff in Aim and/or BU you'll have the power fully slotted with only 3 slots (3 recharge + 3 tohit) instad of 6 so that sounds pretty good to me

Hmmm what happened to Fortitude=slotted for +tohit +recharge +defense buff think about that one works well for a emp some of them hunt for em

I picked up a Damage/Range, which is about useless on my empath - will gladly swap for anything that heals.

heh lotsa people getting damage ranges me included
