I whipped up this build for soloing. Is it any good? What should I improve?

Drop temp. protection (It's useless against anything but cold damage, which is very rare), pick up combustion instead.
Acro doesn't need that much EndRdx, it costs the same as your shields.
Where is blazing aura? You won't get much out of fire/fire unless you herd, you'll need it for that.
Grab fire sword circle as well, and slot it.

Remade the build, few changes (Combustion instead of Temperature Protection and some slotting things).

I think I like it this way.

Pointers: you forgot acro in that last one, i wouldnt take Burn since it has a repel factor wich totally negates holding aggro. (Change Burn for Acro)
and try to get Blazing Aura in there to keep aggro when teaming (its good to have for soloing since you'l want them stacked around you to use the AoE's) you could take it at 24 instead of BU and take BU some other time.

you could do with only 1acc in each attack, when soloing an AoE toon you'll want to take lower lvl enemies in big groups so 1acc will do just fine, wich will also ease up some slots for ya.

This is my current build with my Tanker, I'm not saying completly follow my build but this one has worked for me for a long time! Solo ability im not to sure about, he does drain alot of endurance but with hasten and some rchrg enhan consume pops up quite often. I've had my fire tank ages now and wouldnt rele suggest solo'in with one, they work better in a team due to the massive AoE! But solo is a possiblilty but would suggest herding 3-4 mobs solo so tht you can get good use of consume otherwise taking end from 1-2 baddies doesnt rele top you up enough ...hope this helps with your build!

Put endurance slots in attacks before armours for better overall endurance whilst fighting.
Dont slot anymore than 3 enhancements of the same type when you get to SO's.
When soloing, herd 10 and arrest 10 using all the aoes you can get for the best damage over time per endurance.
If you take haste you are better of loving it with 3 recharges, itll increase your survivability - faster healing flames, faster consume and offer greater dps from the more often faster recharging heavier attacks.
Burn is situational when you have combat jump.
The lower level attacks may come to be lesser slotted for better slotting elsewhere after early levels and the armours may have no end reds in them at all once you have used attack chain planner and if you think like i do.

I'd get either Blazing Aura or Taunt, preferably both, if you plan on doing any teaming. You will need some way to grab aggro, if you plan on Tanking.

quick question to Shannon... I'm trying to figure out how to slot Blazing Aura on my Fire tank, as it seemed utter [censored] at grabbing/keeping aggro when I played my Fire Tank. What would you say is the best slotting for it? I was planning on 1 acc, 3 dam, 2 end reducs, but after playing it for a bit I might consider changing those damages to Taunt durations. Is the taunt factor on Blazing Aura really that [censored], or is just bugged at the moment?

Its really not as good as the rest imo just cos autohit taunt isnt there. Secondaries can compensate however you have it. It misses and the taunt duration isnt that great, if a foe is out of aura ya may as well say its untaunted. I got 2 acc 1 end 3 dam atm and secondary taunt thats 2 recharge 2 taunt to help.

I'll be playing this more as a Scranker, so I'll be relying more on damage and I just can't seem to fit Taunt in before lv 44( I know.... I suck). So I was hoping Blazing Aura, together with Gauntlet and a healthy dose of Whirling Hands would be enough. I'll try slotting it 2 acc, 3 dam, 1 end. Probably take out 1 acc and put in another end, when I get Focused Accuracy.

It was known about before the patch went live over here, there were several threads on the US forums about it. Personally, I've stopped teaming with my tanks until this gets fixed. Hopefully Castle will get a fix in soon.

It was known about before the patch went live over here, there were several threads on the US forums about it. Personally, I've stopped teaming with my tanks until this gets fixed. Hopefully Castle will get a fix in soon.

On my firetank i left fitness till late, i get alot from hastened consume which is often just enough till you get to end drainers like the cabal but by then you could have attacks slotted for endurance, you could have an end buffer in the team, you could have a bigger team to arrest fast in comparison to a small team in which you would do most of the damage or by then you could even fit in fitness pool. My FTs first time at them i was sk'd up, i hadnt gotten round to putting end slots in the attacks and id say that was all i actually needed. Fight pool is what i intend to be without. Which would make me a bit more of an mickey alpha taker vs smash and lethal but i like a challenge and RotP is conceptually there to be unashamed in using. Well i think there is a phoenix symbol on the debt badges so i actually want them.

BA is still poo for acc when they fix the patch, the fact that there could be runners should imo be a bit meaningless to a tank with taunt as in some mobs there was runners/tpers ppl in team givin mobs kb away from walls anyway especially when ya went over the limit for the aura. Yes i tanked in this patch, yes my aura was seemably less effective, yes i still could tank but BA was poo versus -tohit anyway.

People complain about buggy taunt
Guys in EU left with decision - hold back patch (and all the content that came with it) until fix available or release buggy patch and have people complain about Tank bug

They couldn't really win either way, but I think they made the better choice.

Just a brief glance here and based on my fire/ice tanker build ..

Burn, I've slotted 3 dmg, 3 recharge - brings it up often - however with fire melle you have other dmg tools at your disposal so I'm assuming burn isn't as important - but its nice with 3 rehcharge nevertheless.

I have hasten. Everything is up sooner - not sure how you would fit it in, but when your in the thick of things its valuable and makes healing flames even more helpful than it is (After the changes).

Just on a final note - I see there are a lot of attack powers there and while consume is helpful with stamina - I think end may be a problem on occasions. Either putting some end redux in more of those attacks or dropping some altogether and getting some more shields like getting tough and weave (I have these in my build) - is an option I'd consider.

Dont expect any invites with that build.

A fire tank needs blazing aura as soon as possible. It is the MOST efficient way of making sure everything is attacking you and not mr. blaster behind you. Personally, Id get this by level 10 at least. However, with all due respect, a tank who hasnt got this by the mid 20's is going to be in serious serious trouble.

Secondly, at the moment, you DO need taunt in the 40's. Whilst many argue that you really need it much earlier (by the 20s at least) in order to truly tank (and I am one of the purists who do), the way the game stands currently taunt is a necessity to make sure that Arch Vilians are attacking you. Without taunt you will be very lucky to do this.

To be honest I was shocked seeing the build missing both Blazing Aura and taunt. Your job, in a team, is to make sure that YOU are attacked (and die) not anybody else. These two powers are your main (not only) tools to do this. Without them, you are fundamentally a low damage scrapper.

Its ok to be a "low damage scrapper", aka "Skranker", but fire/fire builds are all about AoE damage. AoE damage needs teams to truly shine. And you are going to be extremely unpopular for a team when, as a tank, you dont make damm sure you are taking the aggro.

Some tank builds are better to "scrank" - like superstrength which is nearly all single target damage. Fire melee is an AoE king.

Needs a serious rething imho. You could easily drop feiry embrace and build up for these powers. Burn is pretty useless these days without controllers/defenders immobilizing and slowing everything so they stay in the burn. You certainly will annoy a lot of people by using burn if you dont have taunt to bring them back (and even then...).

Remember, damage is your secondary, and your secondary priority. As a fire/fire you will be the highest damage tank you can get - but that doesnt mean you can neglect your primary role. If a team wanted an AoE damage dealer they would be far better off with a blaster.

Ooops, sorry. .

Well, if you are going strictly solo there may be alternative options. Fire Sword Circle, consume, combustion are all AoE so are of dubious value for solo toons (unless you plan on the grind of herding relatively low level mobs and unleasing AoE but I never found this particularly effective or indeed enjoyable). You may be better off slotting up the single target effects or even taking kick/punch/air superiority to finish of the chain.

Personally, I hardly ever run acrobatics on my fire tank when running solo. Its not worth the end cost. May want to consider that, or even go hover/fly so you have some pseudo kb resistance when push really comes to shove (and hover has, iirc a lot less end cost than acrobatics).

It looks a pretty solid build for solo to me. Personally Id drop combustion and replace it with stealth. I wouldnt have thought the extra AoE is worth it and it gives you the oppurtunity to stealth missions. And as above, id consider changing to hover/fly.

And could always do with hasten if any free slots come up, I suppose, for those pesky Elite Bosses.

Personally, id stick blazing aura in myself - its good AoE damage and would at least give you the oppurtunity to team if you feel like it.
