fastest route to 50.. spn/rgn vs ma/sr
I'd say the spiney should level quicker. Herding+AoEs make warburg grinding really quick till 40, and after 40 turret farming in RV
Teams will always be faster xp due to built in xp bonus the larger the team. Irrespective of the fact that larger teams get progressively more synergistically powerful due to AoE effects.
THe problem is, getting into good teams. You will find that by the 30s, and certainly byt the 40s, that good teams are the norm, not the exception.
Therefore, I would suggest as you now hit the phase of the game where players are generally experienced, you should concentrate more on getting into good, experienced, and large teams. And focussing on AoE.
Unfortunately, scrappers are not the best choice for big teams due to their lack of specialisation and AoE. But spines are the exception. I would therefore advertise yourself as a spines AoE specialist and get known as a good team scrapper.
Of course, the fastest way to get a 50 would be to get 7 freinds and start from level 1 as radation defenders. Set mission difficulty to impossible and cream everything that you meet without pause.
thats some pretty good advice there cognito..
Also I think the idea of teaming with good players rather than some of the horror stories you get at lower levels could be very gratifying rather than sitting in the same mission over and over for hours at a time.
in regards to the aoe aspect of spines, is quills generally frowned upon in a group as an aggro thing? or does it go down nice for another aoe dot? Its something I would like to fit in and use for the sake of going down the aoer route
Quills is an excellent power, you'll actually find that it does a lot of damage without you noticing. It also makes it much easier to herd up groups.
well i found my DM/SR very fast to lvl via (BORING INC) pvp missions
but each to they're own
Quills is a truly excellent power. Thats why it has an end cost which is sky high!
Big groups = big xp
Big groups = big spawns
Big spawn = AoE heaven
Quills is excellent if you look at it carefully. The numbers arent big, but they occur a lot and really add up. The dvantage of toggle damage is that it doesnt interrupt your attack chain like spine burst does for instance. Thats right - it is in ADDITION to your regular attacks.
Slightly off track, but my advice in CoX (i.e. the one that I wish I had been given and listened to) is NOT to get hypnotised by the red and green numbers floating around in combat.
The "invisible" powers, like radation debuffs, force fields, -regen powers, Small DoT powers (like quills) are ones which dont slap one in the face as "t3h ub3r" but, to the observant, are actually far more impressive than a nice big heal. Quills falls into this category. You wont get a big "wow" of laying low lots of enemies with big hits, but take a step back and observe the wood (rather than the trees), and you will notice that for some reason enemies just die around you and you plow on from mob to mob considerably faster. Now why would that be, heh?
Fastest route to 50 is in a big team with people who know what they are doing, its not as much about the character.
Fastest route to 50 is to roll an FF/Psi defender and solo all the way. Remember to take Jump Kick and Provoke.
Honest, guv.
Also, if you want fast, go Fire/Kin controller. Blinding on a team and solo. Scrappers are limited in that they can mostly only pound on one or two mobs at a time, except spines - and to get the most out of spines solo you'd probably need to herd which can be dangerous and slows you down a lot. Fire/Kins can just go all day long with no breaks in the go to mob>immob mob>watch mob perish in flames>go to mob>immob mob...etc chain.
DON'T eat muffins while I'm developing you.

Naturally, but id keep jokes out of a thread that somebody might take seriously.
Meh should I delete my just created ff/psi then?
Just forget missions, take your spines/regen and go in hazard zones. Solo, it's way faster than any mission (unless you can find 4-5 people to pad then leave ).
Of course, the fastest way is to team. Pick a good kin/emp, then invite random people (doesn't matter if they're bad players), start with a insp tray full of lucks to absorb alpha, and go to town.
hi folks, im after a few opinions really regarding a character choice. I have 2 scrappers, a spines/regen and an ma/sr.. both of which I have enjoyed though lvl 32 seems to be somewhat a sticky point for me as they have both found themselves relatively crashed out on that level..

But if you have an opinion on it I would like your input. As I have no experience with the 32-50 end of the game. My current favour lies with the ma/sr as I am somewhat more fond of the character as a whole
I'm in a rush to 50, for a few reasons. One being, I'm a leveler. I come from a background of lineage2 and other games with harsh grinds and old habits are hard to break. My MA/SR went from 1-32 pretty quick, under a week anyway I imagine, I'd have to chat to some civ's to get an exact time. Anyway I really have my eye on a peacebringer, so my goal target and aim is to get my first 50 and earn one.
my progress usually happens solo, and usually grinding pvp zone missions. Personally I have found this to be the fastest way to level period, faster even than good groups. I've been more than happy with the progress I have made with this method, however warburg mobs are quite tough.. Not until I stepped out for a break and tried fighting some freakshow did I realise quite how tough the arachnos mobs in warburg missions are
Anyway, I'm drifting from the point. Now that both my scraps are 32, I was thinking which would be the better to take to 50. In terms of potential for efficient leveling.
Its kinda hard to decide, as I feel MA to be vastly superior to spines in a black and white kinda way. The attack chain is nicer, the attacks are faster, its a slightly better damage type and on a single target simply better damage.
The only real cause for my contemplating taking up the spiner again is the concept that aoe > all in pve. While I can completely understand this and the reasoning that makes it true, in my playstyle I find that the bulk of the time I am only facing maybe 1-4 mobs and with the not so recent mission changes alot more of them are lieutenants, which for obvious reasons will not respond to aoe damage as well as a larger group of minions would.
That all said and done perhaps the answer lies in hazard zone grinding as an aoer and no pvp mission grinding. Then I have to ask myself would the superior grinding method ultimately yield more experience than the large mission completion bonuses in the pvp zones.
Anyway, thats my thoughts. Messily spread across the screen in a fashion probably void of sense
Thanks
