Clocktower Villains RP Meet Returns!

*digs slightly old and moderately musty thread up*

Well, I'm not sure where this post is going but I thought I should say that, due to an apparent lack of interest in the Clocktower meet, CT seems to have had its day.

Just thought I'd say thanks to those whom I RPed with at CT on a semi-regular basis.

I hope CT hasn't died completely but I think my involvement with it is over for the time being.

Sorry to come across so bleak and self-pitying but I felt someone had to post something about the fact that CT is, for all intents and purposes, no more.

Have 2 people in my SG eager for some RP action, told one of them about the CT but they seemed rather disappointed that it wasn't going near 24-7 like with GG (or whatever the heroes equivalent is). So if anyone does decide to get this started again let me know and I'll distribute the message to them. Thanks

Then they'll be equally disappointed about GG, which generally starts at around 9pm, same as CT

I do admit, the clock tower doesnt seem to have as many supporters as GG.

maybe the timing was a little wrong. starting it at the same time as GG means there will be a conflict between the two as RPers decide which one to go to. so, maybe if we start CT a little earlier, RPers can go to one, spend a nice time there and then choose whether they want to stay, or go to GG, so if we start it at 7 or 8, the rpers can spend 2-3 hours at one then shift to the other

Villains are weird from a RP point of view as it's often difficult to imagine some characters being friendly and sociable enough to turn up and get on well with other villains. I'd say that villains motives are far wider than a heroes, and many won't see themselves on the same side. This makes them generally harder to RP well and may put some people off.

I tend to RP my villains in the SG base, or Pocket D as my main places. I don't RP my villains much though as there seems to be less interest.

Pocket D seems to be gaining in popularity though. I've seen quite a few people roleplaying in it now compared to how it was when it first arrived. I've always thought it was a shame more RP didn't happen there as there is far more potential conflict in having heroes and villains in the same room. Plus, by having heroes present, it would potentially cause the villains to form a more united front rather than bickering with each other. Who knows, with the arrival of arena consoles to sort out differences, maybe Pocket D will become the place to be at last.

I have got to agree with Dante here. I have always said that Pocket D is a fantastic place to RP especially considering heroes and villains can interact. Also unlike the PVP zones this can be done by any level safely. I realise a lot of the hardcore RPrs are not overly keen RPing in Pocket D due to some of the inconsiderate types that pass through, but in fairness apart from a SG Base you can get that sort of unwanted attention anywhere.

For myself my RP is fairly casual or own forum based, but i can think of some great experiences bantering with villains and a snaptooth mish where the villains i persuaded to join me decided that they would go on strike halfway through the mish so i got a total pounding then they stole the glory(Harsh to me but it was funny)

To really help kick things off there needs to be more permanent contacts (Newspaper mission style) and maybe a visable cadre of Pocket D bouncers.

As for the clocktower im tempted to bring my villain down at some point but seeing as hes an anti-super bigot, i cant see him making too many friends!

Sadly your opportunity has probably passed... CT has basically run out of steam. Again.

Although you're quite welcome to take up the torch.

I dont really play villains enough for me to restart something like Clocktower, besides because of the nature of my villain hes more of a "drop in stir it up a bitfrom time to time" type of guy. Of course Pocket D is a different matter my villain has used the neutral ground for a number of face to face verbal confrontations with heroic, and villain supers at various points in the past.

Not techincally true. The point of the RP meets is to stand around and talk.

Such as shame CT never really took off. I gave Heroes a try and really i dont think i liked it, a day later you could say i quit the game tho im still subbed, just for the sake of it

I learned RP from scratch on Villians with Echo that is a character frowned upon most of the time damn good fun to play though. Like i said its a shame, i logged on recently got talking to a few people theres no established Villian heavy RP SG's around? i kinda see that as the problem, i mean theres plenty of people wanting to RP the 'bad guy' I started noticing CT's problems when it came to an end the first time, there was never any big plots you'd just make up the chit chat as you went along, nothing much to talk about really. I wasn't at the second CT i kinda gave in on the game if i knew about it i would of definatly logged on...

Anyways if you were to ask me, Villians needs a dedicated Villian SG not a 'Temp' one full of alts that mainly play Heroes, ive already tried to get up a group along with a friend it soon went up in smoke. Soon as i hear theres a half decent VG up that is pretty established and a few dedicated members ill be well keen to get back into the game.

Echo - try VGs, The Concorde, the Trinity and there was another one that's mroe instensive that the other two I can direct you to the leader but i can't remember the name of the VG

just send a tell @Quilla and i'll find the name on my friends list

Although the Concord is (last I remember) more a SG filled with alts though get rarely played due to Heroes, or Villains in other SGs

(the Concord can be classed as a collection of 'unafilliated')

How about New Mafia? Frankly I don't know much about it, just one or two people in it and that they are trying to instigate a feud with Silent Tempest (and are already at a semi-war with Militia).

At least one global to try is @Pious. (with the dot). I tried to mention this to you last night but due to fatigued brain and your quick reflexes I kinda missed the window.
