Ok, if you where to design the perfect team what would it be like? i.e.

What size is the team?
How many of each AT is there?
Which power sets do you need to avoid in rpg terms?
How closely linked to the charecters need to be?

What do you think?

Wow, no-one has an opinion on this???

From an RP point of view.....

What size is the team? Doesn't matter
How many of each AT is there? Also doesn't matter
Which power sets do you need to avoid in rpg terms? Why avoid any? unless the team in question is a concept it shouldn't really make any difference
How closely linked to the charecters need to be? Well personally, my main rarely joins teams with people he doesn't know IC or OOC. New toons I'm happy to throw into IC teams for fun

The Cirque de la Lune - Dark Clowns team. (When we're all online)

What size is the team? 5
How many of each AT is there? One of each (Apart from Kheldians)
Which power sets do you need to avoid in rpg terms? I agree with Veskit? In our team we jsut took what we wanted. They just work though.
How closely linked to the charecters need to be? All members of the Cirque belong together. They are a family. (Though sometimes family argue.)

What size is the team?: 3+ (simply to actually make a team, rather than a duo).
How many of each AT is there?: Irrelevant.
Which power sets do you need to avoid in rpg terms?: None. The world/origins account for all of them.
How closely linked to the charecters need to be?: I'd be happy with just a reason for them to be teaming.

What size is the team?: 4+ to get some team dynamic going
How many of each AT is there?: Irrelevant.
Which power sets do you need to avoid in rpg terms?: None. The world/origins account for all of them.
How closely linked to the characters need to be?: I'd say closeness matters not, skill will out!

mostly stolen from stas... jsut becasue

To be honest, in a RP team a little of powerset mis-matching can be fun...

Mr. Rad the Rad Defender stomps feet and tries to slap Mr. Blastsy the Energy Blaster after scattering all the nicely clustered enemies 'round Mr. Toughice the Ice tanker...

etc etc

Some of the best RP teams I've been on were the Apache Longbow SG ones, where each member has one of the archery powersets ( either Archery or Trick Arrow ) and so is either a blaster, defender or controller.

These teams were huge amounts of fun, requireing a completly new way of playing for me (just look at my Sig to see why ) And made even the most mundane of missions in the starting zones immensly fun.

What size is the team? 2+. If I team-up with someone it's a team. With eight we get a right mayhem going!
How many of each AT is there? Uh, I'm glad to be aware of my own AT. And that is with my main only. So I don't really really care what ATs the others are.
Which power sets do you need to avoid in rpg terms? RP is about bringing in-character sense into game mechanics. Easily done. It's the RP'd additions that can sometimes be difficult to fathom.
How closely linked the charecters need to be? They don't, at all. But it helps.

And yeah, Longbow teams were fun. I play Coile as a reckless blapper but I try to have some sense into him. Freja, heh, she just charges the whole bunch of them, agros all the groups there is and opens a large can of whoopass in the best Stone Cold Steve Austin style. She's had two healers working full time to keep her up and in combat. Really priceless stuff.

Oh good ppl do have an opinion on this!

Thank you for your replies, you have given me some insight into the world of RPG.

RP teams are all about finding ways to overcome the odds stacked against you with the abilities available.

Personally I find teams that lack what most people would consider esential members and AT's a whole lot more fun to be a part of than the purpose built exp grinding teams (Tankers? Who needs 'em, lets just throw a bunch of Defenders in at the deep end and have fun, we might not hurt the bad guys much but we'll last a lot longer than they will, hopefully anyway )

You've never seen a really good Dark/Dark Defender at work, have you Ves?

Anyway, back on topic...
For me, RP teams require absolutely nothing besides more then one RPer and a couple of missions. If you play two, you can run the partners dynamic, which is always cool. If you play more then two, you have the team dynamic, which is always improved if the characters know each other.

No matter how many defenders you have in a team, you will always want a nice ice tank who keeps em all tightly packed in debuffery goodness and... debuffs them himself!
