Dark Melee/Electrical Armor brute.

I'm thinking of making this Brute, I've played it to level 12 so far and it's quite fun! I'm a bit worried about my power choices come level 22+ though. And I'd like to hear your thoughts about various powers. Some powers I'm a bit fence-sitting on. (Grounded, Lightning reflexes) and would like to see some opinions on this:

I am totally undecided about my patron power pool, so left it blank. I'll think about that closer to level 40. :P

I believe 2 int redux in heal self is perfectly doable. Might want some recharges in your attacks to help with that fury building. Seems you might be standing about waitin for attacks to recharge, altho DM isn't so bad on recharge, I get by with a 4 attack chain.

There's a theory for brutes not to slot damage at all, or not run all 3 slots damage and slot for recharge and rely on the fury to give the damage. I prefer a mixture of damage and recharge, with the odd acc thrown in.

If lightning reflexes is at least half the power quickness is take it, love it, and dont let it cheat on you! For a brute it should be even more sweet

I'd echo the concerns about Shadow Maul. With that current setup you're giving yourself a 3 attack chain for 32 levels, which isn't a lot (Brawl & Siphon Life are only really 0.5 of an attack as they don't do much damage and you won't slot them for it anyway).

Timing wise it's doable, especially with Lightning Reflexes, but you might find yourself taking an age to down things.

Also remember that you get a *lot* of extra slots post-40, so it's worth looking at a PP now, even if it's just a placeholder.

You can probably get away without Stamina - Dark Consumption will fill your bar with 3 minions (unslotted) and has almost 0 cost (Though it is only up every 60 seconds). At the very least you can push it later and move Soul Drain or Shadow Maul up your list somewhat.

mmmm, possibly, what power pool attack would you guys reccomend for me? Air Superiority?

I am a bit worried about dropping stamina, but doing so would let me take loads more stuff I couldn't do otherwise!

Air Sup works really well for DM brutes cos there's no weapon to draw so it's just like any normal attack. I don't think I even have it slotted with anything other than accuracy though, I just use it for the minor control aspect. With full Fury it does decent damage, and you can usually get in your Shadow maul or Smite and Shadow punch which will get rid of most critters anyway.

My other question regards dark consumption - are you sure it gives enough of an endurance boost to warrant it being a stamina-killer? It's a bit like the transference argument. At least Power Sink auto-hits.

Mmmm, Air superiority I have on my controller, got it at 49 just so I can knock any flying enemies out of the air, it's a decent power and actually deals alright damage... For a controller. :P

Not on its own, but certainly with Power Sink.

Dont forget Touch of Fear for that 2nd way to skin a cat. Remember u dont have a high damage attack like most brutes, and fear is part of what u traded that high damage attack for. When u respec, put it early in ur build so u have access in sirens call. With SM left to 32 (I did the same in my respec build), u only have smite, SP, ToF, (siphon life), and punch as ur main attacks in SC.
