How fast can I go with no travel power? (ElcArmor)

So, just because I am sick of travel powers, how should I slot myself up for reaching that speed cap?

I think I read somewhere that Lightning Reflexes, Swift and Sprint with 2 run speed SOs each should be close.

Anyone got any hard numbers for me to crunch?

(I may take Fly somewhere in the late 30s...if i must)

Havent tryed it with the brutes but on a scrapper swift + sprint + quickness (from SR) works fairly well, it isnt superspeed, but its pretty good. Unless someone else has tryed it, be worth giving it a go with lightning reflexes + swift + sprint.

yeah... will hopefully try it once i get some levels.

How about if i throw hover into the mix, just for some vertical movment?

Lightning Reflexes + Swift + Sprint is very fast. Not superspeed-fast, but it should get you around quite easily (and somewhat faster than Fly on not too uneven terrain). I would consider some additional travelpower at some point (I took teleport), because - even if you managed to get around in Primeva (Nerva) - Grandville will make you cry without vertical movement.

I'd be very surprised if hover was sped up any to make it bearable. Best thing about going down this route is unsuppressed movement :P

yeah... i dunno... 3 slotted hover is like an unslotted fly. Add the bonus of swift+lightening reflexes... could be pretty decent i recon.

interesting thought, but if U throw in hover with 3 slots and swift with 3 slots, U use up 1 extra powerslot and 4 slots. Why not just go for Air supp (5 slotted, imho one of the greatest attacks) with fly?
Ok U use 2 powers, but U gain 1 great attack power

swift+orignal slot = 21mph
swift+ 2 slots = 24mph

Sprint+orignal slot = 22mph
Sprint+2 slots = 26 mph

Lighting Reflexes+orignal slots = 21 mph
LR+2 slots = 24mph

Unslotted run powers 21+22+21 = 64mph
Slotted run powers 24+26+24 = 74mph

This is what you'd think but hero planer says -
all orignal slots
swift+sprint+LR = 36mph

3 slotted
Swift+Sprint+LR = 45mph

That's the kind of number crunching I've been after. Thanks.

I think it wouldnt be a complete disaster to try this out.

I'm not too bothered about wasting slots really... just super sick of travel powers. I've always wanted a villain/hero that could just dash around at a reasonable pace, i might even take combat jumping and hurdle for some skillfull, catlike leaping.

Actually, I have a SS/Elec Brute myself, lvl 38, And Sprint, Swift + LR is "Speed Boost" fast. I five slotted them all with SO's, as a test. I don't really need a travel power, Hope that helps

CJ+Hurdle is rather useful as a mini travel power.

Another thing to remember is the proliferation of temporary travel powers in CoV. In addition to the mayhem jump and flight packs you've already got, you can pick up a goldbricker flight pack and a sky raider flight pack, which will give you a couple more hours flight time.

Might go down this route myself, as NRG/Elec is a fairly tight build.

It's not that fast and if you have a tight build you're going to want to spend slots of maxing out the run powers and will probably end up picking up hurdle/combat jumping...

...I'm only doing this cos i'm a fool... It's going well though

Already picked up Hurdle, cos I'm gonna get health & stamina.

I'll pick up Swift as well and slot it.

the run speed is nice, mine are all single slotted for run speed, dashing around nicely, just ran out of my temp travel powers, picked up superjump. however im gonna ditch the jumping line for AS and fly, means i can ditch jab or punch to free up a skill for something else, tight build and all that.
but just legging about with LR+swift+sprint has done me fine since lvl 22, only used the temp travel powers for vertical movement. only problem is if you do happen to charge through a purple con spawn they will agro you, unlike SS and SJ if u land in them for a pslit second :P
