Archery/Device Blaster (( For PvP Base Raids ))
If ur mainly a blapper then don't go for devices, it's mainly for ranged. But if ur a proper blaster who want to stay back then go for it, jsut make sure to go for the best powers for tactics.
Got my archery/dev to 25 now, PvE build atm but fared OK in sirens, and will be respeccing to total PvP build at higher level... It should be very nice for solo PvP, but I'm not an expert on base raids.
Well, I'm going archery/energy at the moment, but I can see how archery/dev would be handy. I mean, you can put mines in the corridors etc, and add the auto turret to any defences your base has, and also, i can see how, in a long corridor, maybe once you have a recharge in explosive arrow, It could be used to handily push some of your shquishier opponents back, and on their butts, in some of the smaller corridors. With archery/dev, especially if you take tactics, that and targeting drone slotted up will let you nearly skip accs in powers, if you take in mind the built in acc of archery, would allow slotting of more useful things. But YMMV.
I wouldn't totally skip ACC in powers for PvP build, from what I've seen TD and the inheret accuracy don't quite cut it against def-based foes, and tactics isn't that high buff for a blaster.
Yeah, but it allows for minimal slotting either way... say one acc, two at the most.

Nope, didnt say i was going to be a blapper i aint going energy this time, i want something with some good fire power, and help alot inbase raids.
Well I can see the advantage of setting up Trip Mines everywhere, and caltrops, would be really good.
Not sure on the Archery set, but Energy may be a good idea. Using the knockback too keep the enemies at bay, and even knock them onto trip mines etc.
But just a theory
Not done much PvP and no base raids but surely Ice/Dev would be good. With the turrets that slow stuff down sticking caltrops, Ice Storm and Blizzard in the same are should hurt a lot. Might be a very useful tactic for defending vital rooms like control and power as you should be able to cast them on the doorway with out being targetable. Plus Ice is usually though of as a good primary for PvP.
I find archery pretty nice, goes with the theme, got some nice area attacks and is fast paced. and also the wxplosive tipped area, blazing arrow, and rain of arrows fits in nicely holding people at bay inbase raids :P
Random thoughts. Most of it already said here I think.
Biggest problems with Archery:
a) Invulnerability tanks with capped S/L resistance before hitting their lv 32 power. Generally S/L is the most resisted damage type even in PvP.
b) Lack of any form of real control. It's a gank-or-be-ganked situation with only one attack causing knockback and another providing disorient 70% of the time (which you can back up only with Taser from your secondary, which frankly is poop.) Good thing about both these control attacks is that they're nice damage dealers, so you don't lose anything by using them in combat.
If you do want to play a "deal lot of damage and that's it" type of character, Archery is good. The single target attack chain you have is close to perfection.
Devices and Archery synchro provides you with great +ToHit and coupled with Aim, you actually should be able to hit almost all those pesky +def types with minimally (1 ACC) slotted attacks.
Speaking of Devices set - Targetting Drone + Tactics = Enough perception in almost all situations. Caltrops and Web Grenade, slotted with slows, are way too nasty a way to bring a well-oiled melee-machine to a grinding halt. Taser, as I already said, is pants. So is Smoke Grenade with all the +perception going on. Cloaking Device's uses in Base Raids is a bit limited, but going for a Stalker build, it could be made to work with Smoke Grenade, or maybe not.
Trip Mines and Auto Turret are instant base defenses on their own right. Never really managed to master Time Bomb, but it could be quite good if you know how to use it.
We need more /dev blasters for PvP

Thanks for the tips mate, but yeah i aint in or the damage and i just want this toon for base raids, and maybe the odd stalker hunting so could archery match upto an SR scrapper?

Ok, all i need now is a decent build but i dont recall seing many archer pvpr's so if any of you happen to have any build suggestions or a copy of a quick build from hero builder or how to slott some attacks etc. it would be appreciated.
