More RP on Defiant

Bit of a soapbox moment so sorry for the rant but I personally think there isn't enough RP on the Defiant server. I wasn't aware of the now apparent distinction between both Union and Defiant servers when I first started to play and now wished I’d picked Union for my character. I think the reason for this rant is the effort I’ve put into creating a creative role-playing super group and no one on Defiant seems interested. I been browsing the Union and RP forums and every serious RP player is Union based.

I created a quick test character on Union yesterday and straight away there were players in character coming up with fantastic stories.

Defiant we need more RP : (

I agree, I love defiant, but i also love RP.
I just find that going onto union and not having really much choice if I RP or not, is not something I want to fully sign up to.
A while ago we did try RPing, and trying to make an RP event every week, but, we found it only lasted a week and then nobody came again...RP on defiant takes a lot of courage!

My first char in this game is on the Defiant. I am a roleplayer as well (obviously, since I'm browsing this forum ).

If you've read my thread about the Project I-15 I can say that the Sg was originally created on Defiant but I re-rolled the same toon on Union as I was told that here is where all the rp:ing is going on. I might take up playing with him again if anyone is going to infest the Defiant with rp:ing

as there is no 'official' RP server, it shouldnt be a problem setting something up o'er defiant way!

I have my RP toons equally divided between Union and Defiant (all listed on the COX rolepayer list except for the two most recent Defiant ones Mystery Agent X and Mars Girl) and I would certainly be up for some more RP/IC on Defiant too.

You've hit the nail on the head... I think it's become common place for players to give up RPing on Defiant becasue of a kinda "Jack the lad" approch to playing (this is how it sometimes comes across). It's a shame because new players to the game who want to RP will be in the same boat as myself when they realise Union was the better server for PRing and it shouldn't be like that!

I've set-up a SG with a creative angle but requires a lot RP to esnure the creative story telling side is maintained. I'm seriously thinking about changing the aim of the SG with more emphasise on the RPing than the creative.

I'd love for people like yourselves to join and help put the RP back into Defiant:

i dont mind RPers but when they spam the MOST annoying binds in a mission i just get angry

I thought about it but for me its all about time. I haven't enough hours in the day or week to dedicate time to both servers with the same character. Running the SG side with stories and events just wouldn't be possible for me!

I RP on both servers too, and thought the Defiant role-play community to be fairly healthy.

Part of the problem I have found is that players are getting told by other players that Union is the role-play server. In fact some people have been quite offencive about it.

I started on Defiant with my first char and only made a role-play char on Union to see if there was more rp there...Which to be honest I have not seen more of.
