This one is for PvP. Mostly re-choosing my power pools and doing some minor cosmetic work. A Respec build, so don't pay attention to the levels the slots are taken.

Gotten rid of the GG pet peeve of Teleport pool and the later version's Superjump for some more traditional movement. The 32/35 power pool is making me a bit worried - should I switch the self-heal to ...

a) Stealth/Ice Storm (for +Stealth / AoE to bring out stealthers)

b) Assault/Tactics (To get the +perception)

c) something else altogether.

Some other stuff I'd like comments on:

Stun or Bitter Freeze Ray? I've had great success with BFR on Coldest War with the following slotting (followed by regular Freeze Ray to push through Acrobatics and keep them held), but Coldest has the benefit of Cloaking Device to keep him hidden while firing BFR. Stun could go with less slots I think, and I'll be going hand-to-hand a lot. Don't feel like taking both.

The Epic Pool slotting. No idea on is that a smart way to go. Don't feel like slotting up Temp Invulnerability too much. And is the EndMod worth it in Force of Nature?

I'd say a EndMod in FoN isn't worth it, slot that 3 RedRec and 3 DmgRes. As for Aid Self, I use that quite a lot in PvP zones and duels, with 2 IntRed it's easily used midfight.

Drop both Freeze Ray and Hover, and pick up Air Superiority and Fly.
Drop both Freeze Ray and Hover, and pick up Grant Invis and Invis.
Drop Freeze Ray, Hover and Conserve Power and pick up Combat Jumping, Super Jump and Acrobatics.

Just a few of the many options I would consider better for PvP without looking at the rest of the build too much. Not a lot of point of having just Hover and 3 slotting it if you have no other form of vertical movement.

Not dropping Freeze Ray, it's one of the essentials in the way I play there. Might drop Conserver power for Fly, but with suppression going you're actually better off with 3-slotted Hover than Suppressed flight. Planning on staying near the ground more anyways.

Oddly enough, I just respecced the Doctor into CJ/SJ/Acro after having had SS for over a year (I4-S4 build with 6-slotted Hasten ftw) - not so much for PvP reasons, more that I was getting really fed up with being spun around with Hover in the middle of groups of mobs whilst trying to take out bosses (Rikti, Council, etc). I did pencil SS back in at 49, though. I found trying to chase people with Hover somewhat frustrating - the best 3-D chase (and escape, for that matter) combo is Hover+TP, and whilst I did consider it from a PvP standpoint, I opted instead for the utility in PvE missions.

I'd say Stun, given the animation on BFR (not that Stun is the quickest, but...). Plus, with Powerboost and slotting FR 2 Acc, 2 Rechg, 2 Hold and Hasten going, I think (?) you should be able to hold bosses; with Stun and a bit of luck from Bonesmasher/Energy Punch (or Total Focus when you get it) you'll be able to disorient them too. I prefer having the utility of both open to me, plus Stun is an assured method of dropping Acrobatics on squishies.

I decided not to go for the standard of Stim-or-Aid Other/Aid Self with Gonz - Powerboost+Aid Self is so cliched for */En Blappers at this point, it almost makes me cry. I rarely enjoy soloing in PvP with him (I have my uber Claws/SR for that, jeje), and in a team situation I won't be expected to sit there and heal myself, I'll be expected to do damage. Instead, I went with Grant Invis/Invis - it works better in PvE than PvP, but still lets you catch the drop on people if you're quick about it, and Grant Invis has the benefit of keeping teammates, especially squishies, from being number one target. (And with the extra slots that frees up, I can now 6-slot Power Thrust with 2 Acc, 1 Rechg, 3 Kback for great amusement value ) Of course, YMMV.

lose bfr hover and conserve power for, combat jumping sj acrobatics. And if you want another hold lose the force epic and get elec epic. slot temp invulnur if u decide to stay with force. and i'd advise to slot for end reduce rather then recharge, or you will be out of end a lot.

Elec is a nice epic. Great shield (20% iirc s/l/nrg) and a very good hold (fast animation, great substitude for bitter freeze ray). By only taking hold and shield from epic, you free another slot (wich i took EMP).

I dropped boostrange and my medicine set for the whole leaping pool, took hover for the Jump problem (powerboost/3slotted its actualy decent fast and u can use the 'air hopping' in shadow shards). I do have ice storm/blizzard, mainly for PvE, but it seems to be quite effective panic button in PvP also.

I dropped energy punch, melee chain is my thrust, bone, TF, if needed a bitter ice blast and back again. And my 3 powerbars were full anyway

Thanks for the good pointers, everyone. Seems like I need to be hopping around with Gamma in the future as well (was sort of hoping to get rid of SJ... pretty pointless I guess )

Ice Bolt is gone, so is Bitter Freeze Ray and Force Epic.

Stun is now in to get some more Disorient done. Bitter Freeze Ray was more a damage opener (Damage pretty much equals Ice Blast if I recall correctly) with added mez for fun, so I have to hope damage output will be ok with these changes.

Switched Medicine for Concealment, but took Stealth instead of Grant invis as I can't get full Invis in until 49. This should compensate somewhat the loss of the protection gained from Force.

Superspeed at 14 to have a movement power there in case I need to exemplar down to a lower level, or get -jumped at later ones.

Slotted Swift to counter for Stealth's Speed decrease.. in case I for some reason use only Stealth and not Superspeed... not that I can think of one. But at least I have some movement increase while superspeed is supressed.

Hurdle and Combat Jumping were both Slotted to have better vertical mobility if down to just Superspeed levels and while doing combat.

No idea what's the reasonable ratio of Endurance Modifiers and Disorient Durations in the Blaster EMP, especially with Power Boost going (1 EndMod enough to bring things to 0?), so some help from the experienced there would be nice.

The Elec epic hold power does nearly the same damage as Bitter Freeze ray, its only DoT instead of isntant dmg.

Mind EMP recharge is serious long, in PvP its not _that_ usefull. I have it slotted atm with 3rech/3endmod (i use BU or Aim to get the acc), draining even lvl bosses instantly with powerboost running (note, it doesnt have a -recovery effect, but has a 10ish seconds -regen, what the actual %of -regen is.. dont kow). The disorient is 30 seconds base, with PB its 60seconds.
Now i though i first read it was 1000 seconds, nofuture however state it as 800seconds.

As for SJ, i would slot it with 2 jump/1 end. Makes a pretty big difference i noticed.

Overal i asume you focus more on blapping?

lose emp pulse and get ice bolt again and slot it. get some end reducers into bitter ice blast and energy punch. and get some tohitbuffs in aim and build up.

Slotting is quite easy and when to get them depends what zones you want to consentrate on. Team based and you can leave out med pool and go for something else like force mastery and conserve power. I dont really recomend stealth since the main strenght of ice/nrg over fx. elec / nrg is that it can keep laying high damage by having the best ranged chain in the game.
Another thing is if you plan on using this build in PvP you have to learn to constantly keep your ranged attacks in jumps. If you dont know what I mean send one of the PDs a tell in game and Ill log CoH and show you. Or send captain skyfire a tell I heard he is getting quite good at it

Hurdle 3 slot FTW ye, but CJ I think 3 slotting with jump makes like a 0.2 difference or something silly like that, best leaving it and just throwing a +def in the existing 1 slot, imo.

PS. You've got an Acc on Stealth, is that to make sure you don’t miss when you pounce on them – lol, nah think that’s just a [censored] up on the builder, well I hope it is anyways!

Thanks for the build ideas. I'll meditate on them for a while before looking at what suits my own playstyle best.

re: The purpose - Dunno. Maybe a bit geared towards life at the Arena since the current PvP Blaster I use is too optimized towards stalker-hunting in PvP and Controlling in PvE to be that much fun at Arena matches..

And yeah, I think I know what you mean with "keeping ranged attacks in jumps" means, even if I've really started practicing that with Gamma only since the last respec. The tactic before that was pretty much "TP in, freeze ray, toggledrop, finish, TP out" -style gankage with little use of the rangeds beyond the added damage, so I'm still in the re-learning curve

Yeah, the builder's export feature is bugged in my version, I keep getting strange stuff in my first slots. Usually they're just marked Empty even if I slot them with something... Sometimes things take a strange turn...
