Is it me or...

...is Union really, really quiet these days? I remember when you could pick up a team within five minutes, every zone would be buzzing etc, etc. Now, I rarely see another hero never mind a big group.

*tumbleweed rolls past*

Er, guess it is kind of empty

I assure you, it'll be ANYTHING but quiet this weekend. Servers are gunna blow Jim!

And if its quiet the rest of the time for you, just try to extend your global friends list, or join a nice SG.

Feel free to add @Amazing Shnyet to ur list. Im on quite a bit

You are right, though. I just got back after a 3 month enforced break, and it looks like everyone else left whilst I was away. I can usually find a team, but even PUG's have a few of the same old faces - not a complaint mind, merely an observation .

EU, Union mostly.

Well it has seemed a bit quiet lately but I just got off from playing today and I was getting /tells from all over the place inviting me to teams, if only it could be double xp every weekend...including Fridays....and some other week days... oh ok all the time then !

Summer was quiet last year too, i think it must be the sun drawing people away.

I just don't think that the game is in depth enough to hold peoples attention for too long.

I mean its nice to be able to choose skills and how much power (or slots) to be able to put into each skill. But you could do this with diablo. I realise that the dev's would have left out 'stats' on purpose but it does make for interesting customisation of your character and another thing to fiddle about with.

Of course, as soon as I had posted this, it's the busiest I've seen it for some time...Double XP weekend I suppose.

However, I'm not sure about concerns relating to depth. Personally speaking, it's enough for me. I don't want to become embroiled in endless item collecting/chasing. I also don't have huge amounts of time to devote to an MMO - probably why I've still to reach Level 50 with any of my characters... Still, it's nice to see the place a bit busier over the last couple of days.

Who mentioned item collecting/chasing? Not me and not anyone else in this thread as far as I can see!

Please explain!

Sorry for being ambiguous - some points are implicitly made.

What I meant was that there are other MMOs which are more ‘in-depth’. World of Warcraft springs immediately to mind. It seems a great many players are always ‘shopping’- looking for that certain set of armour, sword, talisman, etc, etc… What I like about the ‘City of’ games is that this activity is more or less absent. Perhaps what I should have said was that I find the ‘City of’ games suitably facile: they have a more immediate pick up and play value which I don’t think it to their detriment.

Maybe it was the mention of:

Where Item collecting is seen as a way of customising your character. In WoW and SWG everyone looks the same because they all go for the same 'uber' items.

You'd see I was talking about stats if you read the rest of what came before that quote.

Costume are great - but they are only looks - be nice to have more to customise than looks.

Give me good old fashioned strength, dexterity, health and mana any day just for a little tweak here and there.

I thought that what you wore affected your stats in most RPGs.

Bit like 1 vs 1 matchs to find the best PvP player. And every one they turns up on controllers screaming that they got da skills.
