Fire/TA US build
Prolly ok lvling. I dont really care about that aspect.
Here are the PvP ideas.
Get both - perception powers. It can really [censored] some builds up.
Get aid self in there somehow.
Spam ring of fire/fire cages for quick containment. Its much easier than spamming holds.
Entagle arrow is used to -fly/-jump, not to immob. Added range is the best slotting. You have pretty good slows, and when you enable slow and -jump, your opponent cant move which makes surviving and killing a lot easier.
Remember this is for 1on1s.

Lvling be damned this is for pvp and yeah I could go fire rad but there seems lots of them out there.

I did have ranges in one of the builds I did, guess that must ahve been one that the builder crashed on I think I will put them back in. The immob/accs are in there just to prolong the duration of entangle to 30 seconds, it is actually an immob but thats not what I intend to use it for (as every man and his monkey has res to immob )
Glue arrow is perma (8 seconds overlap with hasten) and seems to be an autohit as isnt letting me get any accs in it which should be good Vs SRs which kins ahve a problem stacking slows on them.
My idea seems to be entangle, glue, disruption, oil slick and fireball the oil slick (should the pets not have ignited it and pets going nuts during all this time)

I dont see Acid Arrow, is -def not that helpful? From using it it also has a pretty good -res too

it is but what do i drop instead? its a tight build and I want a few more things in there too but i really need those pool sets

I'm not a fan of bonfire so that? Acid Arrow lasts as long as its recharge (which means justs needs Acc if you're saving slots, I'm stacking mine and slotting for debuff too)

Im keeping bonfire for stalkers but have tweaked the build and dropped fireball and consume for acid arrow and smoke. Any other suggestions owuld be greatly appreciated

What he said. Don't try and play fire/ta in zone PvP, you will die more than most other toons. As soon as you pull that bow out, you're basically dead. In 1vs1 you can lock down your opponent enough with things like Entangling Arrow and Glue Arrow to prevent them from getting any hits in, but in the zones there's usually several more people who are quite happy to run around behind you and hit you in the back.

I dont mind dying, just looking for something a bit different, as arena is usually quiet zones are going to be the place to find some casual PVP. I fully expect this one to be as squishy as they come but I hvae more than enough Alts with high zonal survivability as is
But yeah the draw times on the bow are worrying but what the hell, i die to much I get my scrappers/stalkers

I knew there was a thread on this somewhere.....I really like me Fire/TA lots of fun and defo soloable after you get your fireimps, theres a however however, something very disheartening keeps happening!
When you oil slick a mob and set it on fire the little imps jump half a mile away and just stare at the bad guys...why? Are they not fire imps? wouldnt the little rascals feel right at home in a shower fire? Instead they just hang back and look at the fire, like they've never seen it before
I rely on imp dmg to take down the mobs, so err...hmm..anyone got any explanation? I'll be happy to accept any explanation if its fun then i can at least say 'hahhaaa silly imps, you cant deal with fire because [insertrandomexplanation]'. As it is now team members just point their fingers and laugh and im left wondering whether to use oil slick at all, but i like it so! Not fair!
[insertrandomexplanation] = Cause it's bugged, and Devs don't care or don't know how to fix it right away.
They are trying to fix it but are currently a bit stumped.

theres some [censored] code in the system, it only burns them on indoor mission and not outdoors so it is clearly possible to get it fixed. I have sent off a number of petitions and details regarding this.
I try to use oil slick and hit it with a none fire attack to remove the ignition sequence on indoor missions before snding in the imps

Im thinking of my next build and fancied another controller, fire/rad and fire/kin are obvious ones but I quite fancy TA as secondary as there are some useful tools in there. Plenty of slows, -fly, -jump etc etc
The time drawing the bow concerns me as does the fact that the builders say disruption arrow takes resitance enhancements, is this a flaw or does resistance enhancements enhance the -res of the power?
Some opinions on the sets would be appreciated, ignore when the powers were taken as I was just throwing in all the pools that I wanted ready but the slots are about right
