Hmmm well checking a planner for numbers I got 29% Def ... That seems quite low to me but is it?
Not really.
I forgot the exact calcualtions.
But basically enemeies don't have 100% acc. I think it's something like %50 at even con
So you're 30%def is gonna give:
50-30=20% to hit chance.
It get's more complicated afterwards as you then get ly/boss/av acc multipliers.

EA is good!
why?
* U get mez protection below lvl10
* U get a nice end drain at lvl28, this one is very good :-)
* U'll become awesome from lvl38 (OVERLOAD) 
Just stay away from the resistance protections and go for self heal. the non-toggles are imho not worth taking, but this is a personal choice ofcourse.

Bear in mind you're going to need Energy Drain, Conserve Power, and Stamina, and possibly want to slot for end reduction in all of your attacks too. You'll want to run four toggles most of the time, all of which are very hungry.

I manage fine with just energy drain (3 recharge, 1end mod - the other two are going in there later) and stamina and two endreds in entropy shield and energy cloak. All attacks are slotted 2 acc, 2end red, 2rechargered, apart from total focus and energy transfer which are 2acc 1end, 1 rec, 1 damage and 2acc, 3 damage, 1 recred respectively.
I have no need for conserve power (except perhaps in some prolonged AV fights) but I just carry the occasional cab for that.
One thing i will say, taunt is highly recommended for EA to supplement your aggro grabbing, especially with a single target based primary.
Not using conserve power either, have a 6-slotted and drain and stamina

Here's a hint - drop three slots from stamina and jam them on attacks as end reduction instead - way way WAY more efficient

Yep, although with DM you also get end recovery via Dark Consumption. I have energy drain, Conserve power and Dark consumption, having 3 extra picks for power pools really helps round out my build.
