Hi all, I have been messing aorund with many builds now trying to get the perfect one. And Iv'e decided to pick fiery melee/invulnerability for some reason.

So here's my build. Enjoy.

Not very creative with slotting I know, but neither is the ocjective of a brute. Your criticsm is very much appreciated.

One more thing, could someone please post a link to the latest CoX builder so I can put patorn powers onto it. Thank you.

With fire attacks for a brute you want an End Red in each, at least. Build up is fairly situational so you can take it quite late (it makes little difference and I use it to counter debuffs)

The attack chain doesn't really look full enough unless you're planning on Autoing brawl, but even then I think you'll have gaps

"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"

Not familiar with Fire/* but for Invul I would highly recommend you put 3 damres into Temp Invul and Unyielding as well as considering getting Unyielding a little earlier if possible.

Can't get at the exact link in work but try Google and/or CoH Coldfront for Sherksilver's latest planner.

Hey dude,

This is no critism, just my Point of View :

U sure like to jump like the best, CJ and hurdle, a bit overkill if U ask me :-)

Aggree on the build up thing, most situational, better make sure ur fury bar stays high, no need for build up when fury rocks!

Since Invul. is a heavy end eater, I'd like to suggest paste some end reductions on all attacks and give CJ an end reduction or if U like more defense an defense enh. I have some discussion bout the end reductions I use on my shields, I use 2 end red. on TI, UY and Tough.

A brute isn't a tank, so imho a brute needs to give damage, so get ur attacks slotted , kill them before they can kill u and ur team!

I have a lvl42 SS/INV brute and have no resist elements or resist energy, when U analyze the damage U'll notice over 80% is S/L which is covered by RPD TI, and Tough.

Dull Pain is a 6-slotter BTW, get it 3 recharge-3heals

U can check my build here :

CJ or SJ + hurdle is faster than CJ or SJ + swift, and it can get you over higher obsticals.

I wouldn't add extra slots to either SJ or hurdle though. You might arive slightly earlier but your combat abilities will be lessened.

I would put 1 endrec in CJ so you can run it most of the time.

I really should do something about this signature.

There's no point putting any endred in combat jump as it is the lowest endurance toggle in the game (I think it is something like 0.04 end per tick).

Agreed on not slotting SJ or hurdle with anything more than the initial slot. With both of them you bounce along at a fair old whack anyway.

I certainly wouoldn't bother slotting RPD, as you'll have stacks of S/L resistance anyway, and the slots would give you far more bang for your buck in Unyielding, which I'd slot with three damres. I'd also stick another damres in Temp Invulnrability and another defbuff in Invincibility.

Personally I don't bother with Resist Elements and Resist Energies, but lots of people do. Make of that what you will, but the slots in them could be used elsewhere, even if you do pick them as powers. I generally work on dealing with fire/cold/energy/neg damage mobs by taking them down hard and fast before leasurely splatting any S/L mobs they were with.

As for attacks, I've not played FM to any decent level, but for a brute I'd always recomend slotting an end reducer in each attack (take one out of your toggles if needed. Two is overkill on most toggles). A recharge or third damage would be good in your bigger attacks.

Also, stick three heals in Dull Pain, as well as the recharges. Works wonders when you use it as a combo heal/HP buff mid fight.

You can update Sherksilver's builder to include patron powers. If it comes up with an error while updating, make sure that the proxy server option is disabled in the options.

ok, I might try getting unyielding at lvl 16 then fitness powers. I'll also slot auto shields with 1-2 res buffs. Won't bother with slotting end reductions as I so far find no problem with using em. I'm also investing in dull pain, as it has saved my lfie loads of times.

Auto powers don't use any end, they're passive so you can't slot with end redux.

Most of all, it's been said, make sure you slot Dull pain 3 recharge 3 heal, ALWAYS 3 slot Temp invuln and Resist Phys Damage with Dam Res. An end redux will also help as Invuln is quite an end heavy set.

Basic attack slotting:
2 acc, 1 rech, 1 end

Basic Shield slotting:
1 end, 3 def/res

Follow that for any of your brutes and once you hit SO's soloing will be very easy.
