go sonic for the best st damage.
Something like Psi or Sonic is great because slept bad guys don't wake up when you use Fulcrum shift. Psi damage with FS, especially some of the high up attacks can be really powerful.

Kin/Elec is good for end draining but you must remember that it doesn't actually stop most enemies from attacking. That said, it does force toggle drops (Tsoo Sorcerer's Hurricane, for example) if you drain all their end away; but they will still attack again almost straight off. Its still a useful tool though. 
I'd go with Kin/Psy.
Kin/Sonic can be hard to use. /Sonic has very long animations (3,8s for Shout!), and Kin/ is intensive. I'd rather have the 2 1s big hitters of Psy.
On the other hand, /sonic has siren's song at 28, which is awesome for a soloing Kin, but you can get mass hypnosis at 41.

I must be rubbish, I'm still actually using it... Mental Blast? Yeah, I actually still use it alot... Don't seem to have many problems with it either, but, Lani's more of a support character, so I haven't really thought much in terms of damage powers.
Well im thinking and i guess i will go get a kin/psy hehe btw has anyone got a good build or some attacks that i should really have?
You'll have some interesting possibilities as you dont NECESSARILY need stamina or travel powers (personally took fly but not stamina).
TK Blast and Will Domination will be your staple Psi attacks, subdue and the snipe depending on taste...
You'll probably want everything from the primary really... don't overlook repel, it can be amazingly useful (permapin bosses/quants etc in corners...)

I use mental blast all the time
I don´t have many problems with it, but when I compare it to TK blast, and Will domination...well, then the flaws start to show themselves.
I would rather choose Subdue over mental blast though, I love the animation!

Ok im thinking of making a new defender most of my chars are scrappers and blasters (love damage dealing) im thinking of making a devious defender that will make the enemy go "oh fudge its him." I am thinking of a kin/psy cos of damage dealing and the unresisted psy damage. but im alo thinking of kin/elec cos of short curcuit mostly and the other -end to go with transference when i get there so i could drain a boss of lots of endurance right and keep him down low so he cant fight and the dam dealers can do their thing. So i have decided to make a kin/* any help on elec or psy blast?
