  1. it's 5% so it's a bit better than those in isolation. on one hand it needs to hit, on the other, it does a lot more than just debuff acc...

OG decreases incoming pain by quite a bit with just a default slot acc enhancer if you're worried about slots/bluebar
  2. It's quite a novel build, I like it.

A big part of getting /DA to work efficiently is getting the best performance out of Dark Regen, and I think you could get some improvements by looking at set IOs such as the damage sets that offer things like acc/end, acc/rech and heal sets that offer heal/end, heal/rech or even end/rech. By mixing them up you could probably exceed the performance you are getting with one slot less, and improve even more with 6 slots.

The resist toggles I'd go 3 res/1 end reducer myself, they really are pretty cheap compared to everything else in the build.

You could probably easily get by with only one KB protection, maybe have a look at the +Psi resist instead?

If you really find yourself taking too much damage then consider either Cloak of Fear (needs lots of slots) or Oppresive Gloom which are really powerful tools and corner stones of /DAs mitigation.

Aside from that, quite a few sets offer small amounts of +recovery for 2 slotting, they all add up to help your end worries.

    Kat/Dark

    I have a 50 kat/da and it's a great scrapper!

IMO the slow down in damage from divine avalanche, and the restricted defence, makes it of questionable use, but it's definitely a case of YMMV

Mine runs tough/weave, cj and cod, and using only cheaper sets I have 25+% defence to all, and few end problems, plus i don't have to use dark regen so often

    IMO EVERYTHING /DA is good
  4. Acid and Disruption are worth taking when they become available and using often.

Entangling has a nice secondary effect and is useful against AVs or EBs

You won't need stamina unless you want to run a lot of leadership toggles

    IO's

    Good luck affording all that.

Psst, energy torrent over laser beams

    IO's

Only one of each of these types of enhancements may be slotted per power.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Does this mean that only one IO set enhancement can be used on one power?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can't slot more than one of each type of set IO into a power, e.g. you can't slot 6 crushing impact acc/damage IOs into one power, you can only slot 1 of them. You can put 1 in each attack if you like though. Some IOs are unique and you can only use 1 total on any character.

Before trying to decide whether Mako's is 'better' than Hecatomb you should realise that both of those sets' recipes tend to be either a) very rare or b) expensive or c) need expensive rare salvage to craft them. You would probably be better starting off setting your sights a little lower...

How about this at level 20ish?

Sting of the Wasp: 4 slots

    Bruising Blow: Acc/Dam, Dam/End
    Pounding Slugfest: Acc/Dam, Dam/End

That sees you with approximately a single origin worth of accuracy and end reduction, and 2 single origins of damage, plus a nice little boost to regen and recovery. That's BEFORE you can use singles... not bad, not bad at all.

Not only that but you have both a chance to find the recipes on the way to 20 and can likely afford what you don't find just by selling a few luck charms...

Then you can just upgrade those later depending on what you find and how lucky you get selling things you don't need.

I honestly wouldn't be thinking about things like numina uniques and purple sets be 'must-haves', you can get really decent performance out of the cheaper sets too.

Nightmarer gives good advice on using set IOs to either cover your perceived weaknesses or maximise your strengths, and you can tell he's put a lot of thought to maximising damage across the board. Despite all that he still knows he should have just taken Death Shroud like any sensible person

    Epic Pool

Picking none is not the worst thing you can do.

    Best debuffer?

Oh yes, the stealth, you can get some pretty decent team res out of that, particularly vs Psi and Fear which of course are really handy. Don't write it off for your duo.

Black Hole is the obligatory rubbish power in the set But then, rad has choking cloud which is probably only useful on a controller...

    Best debuffer?

Howling Twilight does massive -regen and you can have it up every 45 seconds easily enough, plus for the rest of your career its a great PBAoE stun, really great. Think of it as a mass rez after all that. People who use it only as a rez are getting 5% of the use out of it.

The fear is excellent for mob to mob use at least, one of the best AoE controls in the game I think, plus you can easily stack it and most AVs are pretty easy to fear...

The hold is OK, pretty good when stacked with the pet.

Dark's heal is way better than Rads, and stacks -regen with HT, plus, you can use it from range which is good for the melee pets while keeping you safe from any PBAoE attacks the AV might have.

The slow is OK for AV fights, you won't slow them much but still, the -res is decent. You can slot decent procs in it too. Most AVs will stay in it when surrounded by pets.

Dark's pet is good. Its AI is better than most.

For sure, you can't go wrong with /rad, but dark is equally capable vs AVs and IMO better and more fun for the rest of the fights you'll have. Obviously that's just personal taste though.

When duoing AVs you'll always find some easier than others depending on their abilities.

    Best debuffer?

I'd seriously consider dark -- Howling Twilight is an AV killer on its own. With only one toggle to keep on the AV compared to rad's three it can be a bit easier on the endurance in long fights too. HT is the big one though.

    Focused Accuracy

FA is sure nice to have but I definitely think it's overkill for the PvE game. I suppose a large part of the decision comes down to whether or not you can justify the end usage.

As you know NM, all my scrappers are /DA and /DA probably stands to gain the most from FA, especially DM/DA, what with the to hit check on Dark Regen, Cloak of Fear, Soul Drain and so. But even with all that I'm quite happily running without it on both my DM/DA and my Kat/DA.

For me, if taking body mastery epic, FA is less useful than either conserve power or energy torrent. I probably even got moe use out of laser beams...

...the combo Cloak of Fear/Death Shroud. Some people say these two nullify each other, some say the opposite, so I guess I'll give it a go and see how it goes...

  13. Easy this: grav/rad = good

Besides, I don't care who won, if our team ot the other one, my stone tanker has been lvl 38.1 for months, and along this weekend I've lvled up him to 42.4 (from 40.2 to 42.4 during this tf), so I've won anyway!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Well said

edit: P.S. Thanks to all on my team for a really fun TF and (for once!) a pretty decent recipe drop
  15. Shame it's got so complicated

    Let's see what happens
  16. Nah, would rather do it with the same team as last time seeing as that was nearly all friends

Don't really fancy it the way it is anymore
  17. Wouldn't mind bring my PB Scintillant Donna if you don't mind risking a cyst on Hami (level 38 by the way)
  18. any chance of running this at a high rep? we did this one on invincible in around 3 hours a few weeks back so the time increase is minimal...

edit: makes the malta mish a good suicide run
  19. The Grav/Kin is worth sticking with for sure. Grav/Storm and Grav/TA also are great fun, but seeing as you have the grav/kin why not stick with it?

The only thing with that toon will be it gets powerful later than most (/rad say), wormhole comes at 26, before you get wormhole crushing field is of questionable use really... and of course controller kinetics isn't really much use until 39 when you can get some slots into fulcrum shift.

Personally I ditched propel in the 40s and took earth epic pool to up the damage, the foot stomp stacks well with wormhole for bosses, and hurl boulder does TONS of damage after FS (with an activation time even longer than propel heh).

Like Wondergran I also ruthlessly picked on carnies, especially post 45, by then you'll have all the tools to make them a total walkover.

    Cloak of Fear

I like it lots on my DM/DA (45) and use it more than any other field, except when fighting nemesis when I turn it off and use OG... it looks great, and if it suits your concept go for it!

It does need heavy acc and end slotting though, with SO's. I have mine 2 acc/3 endrdx and that's WITH focussed accuracy too...

edit: I'll most likely add a thtdbf when I have a free slot (been slotting FA and Laser Eyes since 41)
