You advice please about 'Hurl'

I use my Hurl move from SS as my back up move to bring down flying heroes. However, I rarely use it though it comes in useful sometimes.

My question is, would you recommend that I drop it and take Air Superiority instead.

If I did so, I could also drop 'Haymaker' and replace it with AS in my fury-building chain (I believe that AS and Haymaker give about the same level of damage. Is that correct?).

Thus I would free up two slots and could take, along with Haymaker, either Conserve Energy or Hasten.

Can anyone give me advice on this?

I would say it depends on your travel power. If you are using SS or teleport (without TP Foe) you need Hurl. If you Fly you can get in melee range of flyers anyway, so AS is fine. Jumping, it depends.

I really should do something about this signature.

IIRC AS gives slightly more damage than haymaker, although it's been a while since I played my SS brute.

I had Hurl and Air Superiority for the longest time in my build. I droped Hurl though. Why? Because i went for Black Scorpion as a patron and the first power offered to you aslong a ranged blast is a ranged AOE -fly and -jump. Fairly fast recharge aswell. It doesn't deal damage however. I Loved hurl though, nothing like tossing a rock at a squishy dying from it as he, hopeless, try to leg it.

In your case i would grab Air Superiority it has the exact same damge as Punch, same recharge and a greater chance of KD. Jab, Air Superiority and Punch in itself is already a great attack chain with Haymaker here and there when its up.

Haymaker and Hurl does equal amounts of damage and are rated as"High" dmg attacks whereas Air Superiority is only "Moderate".

For Brutes it would probably be best to have Air Superiority (quick animation time and reasonably lower endurance cost to the latter) rather than Hurl to keep your Rage bar up.

And it's the fury bar, you should know that rage is a SS power

Hurl would be better for PvP, since it's ranged and those flying heroes can be hard to reach.

Air Superiority does the same damage as Punch (BI 2.7778) [more than Boxing and Kick, same as Jump Kick, and less than Flurry ].

Haymaker and Hurl both do BI 4.5556 damage.

Punch has a very slight more damage then air superiority , very very slight (Especially equel slotted), but its knockdown effect is almost none excistance maybe 30% ??

Haymaker is a must keep , cause its damage is definetly beter then Air superiority , its knockdown 70% versus air superiority Knockup 100% .

Hurl is multi usefull its damage is the low end of HIGH not moderate its less then haymaker , but definetly higher then punch or airsuperiority.

Hurl animation is 3 seconds , but it damage will register even if people run out of range / hide, so once you activate it , even if people hide behind a cornor the damage will be inflicted .

Hurl for a brute means a single target range taunt , while hurl for a tanker means a additional taunt .

edit: oh advise part if you have to lose something get rid of jab in SS brute , its damage is so worthless cause its on the low end of minor only higher then brawl .
Yes what about fury buildup , use brawl instead in that chain with 1 end redux , gets you almost the same effect for less cost .

Or one could ditch jab in favor of boxing to open the way toward Tough. Thats what i did in a previous build.

I have Jab once more in my current build. I like it. If my endurance is very low, alternating between brawl and jab not only quickly build fury but let me get some endurance back.

To the best of my knowledge, Hurl and Haymaker do the same damage.

Oh, and Punch and Air Sup are also the same damage for Brutes.
