Brute PPP attacks and inherent taunt

So I FINALLY thought up a reason why taking a ranged single attack from the PPPs might be worth it!

That is, if those attacks inherently taunt a single target, like our set attacks do. (do powerpool attacks inherent taunt? I'm taking one, so wanna know that too)

That is... so I can inherent taunt a mob at range when taunt isn't recharged, or they're straying, and somehow got out of my mud pots when I'm in granite and rooted, or just granite and slowed. Just hoping it actually works to keep them focussed on me.

So, anyone know if this works or not?

On an unrelated note, does anyone know if the PPP pets are worth it if you only stick 3 recharge in them and call it a day?

So nobody knows the answers to any of these questions?

I'm not planning on my single target attack until level 47, so it will be a while before I can tell you.

I am not sure about a pet yet, depends on how much I like the single target attack and whether I want more slots in it.

I'd imagine not many people have the pets yet so hard to advise on, and there's probably not a lot of people with the attacks either, just people testing them out. so mighrt be a while before you get conclusive answers to both questionins

"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.

with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"

Ah, Eressos got her first powerpool attack already so I figured someone who goes here would've already.

What about powerpool attacks? Do those taunt inherently?

Dunno, but probably.

Dunno, but pets are probably best with 1 acc 2 dam 2 redrec and any other of your choice. Unless you only want to use it to take alpha strikes for you.

I really should do something about this signature.

The electric Fences might I guess but hard to tell cause they're infreequent

Powerpool attacks do work with inheret powers, so yes.

Another PPP question! >_> This one is easier. Do the PPP attacks take taunt enhancements?

Tanker powerpool and ancilliary pool attacks don't have gauntlet (revealed while the tanker attack = aoe attack bug was on test) - so i doubt that brute patron powers will have a taunt effect.

If that's true that's another big strike against PPPs, again. At least a single target ranged attack would be good for punchvoking.

*sigh*

Okay, searched a bit and i was partially wrong - Tankers don't have a AoE taunt effect on pool and ancilliary pool powers but a single target taunt effect.
So maybe Brutes will get it too...

clicky

Erm, am I missing something here? Brutes don't have taunt as their inherent, do they? They have fury. Or do they have taunt in their attacks as inherent too? That's pretty unfair to the Tankers out there if that's the case (which I'm pretty sure it's not). But Brutes can play at being Tankers by picking up Taunt, and slotting moves that have taunt as a secondary efect with taunt enhancements.

Gauntlet from a tanker effects the target being hit and 4 others around it, from a brute it effects the target only

I'd only take a pet for the "cool" factor, because at best (with 3 Recharges and/or Hasten/LR/Quickness/SB/SiphonSpeed) you can only have them up half of the time, and "dumb" pets can get you in lots of trouble

But then yesterday I saw a L47 Stalker, obviously with Ghost Widow as a patron, who had a Night Widow pet (and I thought they only got Blood Widows...) - so now I'd be very tempted to get that for my Stalker when he hits 47, both for concept and coolness factor, but also because Night Widows seem so damn annoying when we fight them. The only other pets I'd personally get for "coolness" factor would be an Arachnobot Blaster (love their shooting animation) or a Toxic Tarantula (huuuuuugggge spider!), but none of my characters who'd take Black Scorpion for concept reasons are anywhere near 41

I'd probably slot 2 Accuracies first, so they'd be useful against AVs/Heroes/EBs, then recharge and/or damage to taste, if I could spare slots - but I think I'd be prioriting my own direct attacks for slots first, so I doubt I'd have any to spare (on any of my characters).
