stalkers dont need fixing, they can be played very effectively when they can be seen and to say they are the only AT that has to take four powers is a joke...

IIRC my blaster has killed ur stalker more times in SC.. and just wait till im 30 and it has aid self too^^ (or for my spines/SR with tactics , shame it's just lv18 so far, but gimme a week or two)

spineys will be worthless in i7 .. gonna be funny when all the scrappers realise just how ploppy there builds are and just how cack spines is
blasters don't have much of a chance either .. spent a whole lot of time just killing silly blasters in RV.

Yeah this is whats anoying me .. with all the per atm the stealth pool for none stalkers is just pointless and the cap for none stalkers is to low.

yes but it's cause stalker are the one that are stealthy.other AT wasn't meant to be.
that furtivity is only usefull for stalker is false however, as any stealthed AT will not be spotted by player without +per (remember that even stalker have only two pool that can see stealthed foe)
in fact i find stealth to be enough. as for every AT that will take it, it's more for confort that for "still being what i am" i find it quite good.

i can't agree with that. ok you can survive but you will never be as effective as a rava or a blaster.
less damage, less life, don't forget that without being hidden you can't crit, that mean that rava and blaster will be able to 2shot or 3 shot you when you you will need 2 or more full attack chain.

You will crit if you have the "hidden" in up right corner. Whether players can actually see you at that point is irrelevant.

And what does 'rava' mean by the way?

Isn't it? Why not. Seems fine to me. Some people can see stalkers, other can't. I get the impression people are of the opinion that stalker should always be invisible, or in the case of this post, only visible at close range despite your perception bonus.

No, it isn't. What's the point in having an AT that's primary function is stealth and the ability to remain unseen, if they can be seen by most everyone in the zone? Perception powers are common, meaning perc can be capped easily, as opposed to stealth powers, where's the balance there?

anyway I don't think its a big problem..tho those SR scrappers do my head in since they 2 hit kill you sometimes:P (focussed sences) (you wannabe stalkers^^)

in i7 scrappers and blasters won't be 2 hitting anyone and i'll give you several good reasons.
1) 56% res on nearly all PPP shields S/L/Toxic/nrg/cold/neg nrg
2) everybody gets a hold and ranged attack
3) stalker dark set is nearly brute strength S/L/toxic res
4) some nice accolades which are 100% res to all with no end crash.

when a stalkers got 50% S/L and 30% toxic what do you think those spine scrappers are gonna do ?

i went 1 on 1 with a stone tank in granite and won with my stalker

Oh and nobody said stalkers get PPP shields .. i certainly didn't because i know they don't

Hi there, New to these boards, but been playing since early December. Anyway.

Now while this may initially sound like a 'nerf' post. please note that is not my intention at all.

In my oppinion, Stalkers (in general) in thier present incarnation are in the most part, 'beardy'. (A term i remember from my childhood playing Games Workshop. It's name came from the Dwarf army. The idea behind it, that if you built your army a certain way, your Dwarfs were basicly undefeatable. In other words it's summed up by "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should").

Well i remmeber my first time in PvP i got my [censored] handed to me by a Stalker (a particularly annoying one at that).

My response was to try and defy the stalker process and so i created the stalker im playing at the moment.

Now the 'interesting' thing is, in my VG (The Evisceration) alot of them have commented on how 'dumb' or 'foolish' my toon is, on the grounds that i have chosen NOT to take 'Placate'.

Now i have my reasons for this decision. My stalker is a CoX version of my AvP Predator Clan member from way back (don't know if anyone knows of any of the original AvP clans).

Well the idea was all about honour, similar to what "Kitty_Hellfire" said MANY posts back. My idea behind the toon is "is the kill honourable?". In a number of instances the answer is 'Yes', but this is not because of the 2 consecutive hits that Placate allows. In many instances instead it's an honourable kill because while playing in character i have removed my 'hide(aka cloak)' and taken the individual on 1v1. And in turn using 'hide' to get to the fight undetected, and maybe using it to remove the 'less worthy' targets.

Yes most of the time i loose in this way, but i don't mind. After all i don't play 'to win'. I play for the enjoyment of playing and for the community that my VG and others provide.

Also as a final note. There is no shame in loosing a PvP fight with a completly un-buffed toon (if anything i see it as the opposite.) There is a tactic in creating a character, and buying LOADS of inspirations to make your toon untouchable... well it's beardy.

stalker were design to kill ppl from shadows when you take that element out what the point of playing stalker if everyong can see stalker from 1 mile away simple. Plus they do not have the hp to fight like scrapers.

By that logic they could design an AT called the pwnzor (if you target it you get perma-killed), then be unable to change it cos of the original design and concept.
The whole stalker thing prolly has more to do with the survivability of squishies than stalkers though. They arent that much worse than scrappers, just more frustrating cos you can run away from a scrapper when you see him.

I am thinking then that random dice roll idea is best, if you're a stalker you can get closer than anyone else before the dice roll though. But do you make the roll like every 10/15seconds or only 1 roll?
