thanks for the build but theres a few things that strike me about it;
1) no acc in transfusion, i'll never hit with just tactics
2) no hotfeet or repel, so no stalker protection
3) I was planning to go 2 acc 3 dam 1 end in firecage as it will be my only damage attack in sirens, but i'll defo get it, kin is better on non-moving targets
4) Cinders can be useful to stack mag so long as it hits, plus i think it would hurt my PvE alot to lose it, with my recharge rate it's up fairly often.

Transfusion was a mistake. Simply forgot the acc, my mind must have been somewhere else:P
Im sorry to say so, AS protection isnt something the good PvP'ers use. They dont need since movement can protect you from AS. Standing still = death against good PvP'ers anyway. Hot Feet is awesome in PvE, but too end heavy for PvP. The only reason to considder it, is the slow which I dont find good enough at that endurance cost.
You should actually considder other options than the slotting I gave. You wanna spam as many immobs as posible to get containment. Immobs are simply a faster way than holds.
Here are your options IMO.
You could loose assault/tactics to get smoke (yes its good in PvP) and hot feet for PvE simply cause its that good.
In PvE you dont really need cinders. the Flashfire/firecages is so much better.

The build imaginary asked you to post is pretty much what i have now except for the leaping pool. May i ask why get CJ/SJ, which supresses, instead of IR which doesn't, esp with acro as late as 49?
I think i'm fairly set against leadership, i don't much like toggles and i don't think i'll get much mileage out of it if i still can't see stalkers.
Good to know smoke is good in PvP though, i notice you don't slot for acc debuff, which i think confirms my assumption that the debuff is piddling on it (and that it now needs acc).
Before i5 i didn't have cinders in my build, as like you say FF/cages is awesome. But post-i5 i find it a little lacking on it's own, and cinders suits my melee style in PvE (used it for about 25 lvls and i've always liked it )
Don't get me wrong i'm not totally stalker-paranoid, but i think i read that after i7 any damage aura will interrupt AS and/or hide? I suppose i wouldn't have to run hotfeet constantly, just when i park myself somewhere briefly (i already have bad enough RSI without constantly jumping around in the zones, sometimes i need to take a breather )
My other problem would be fitting in hover as well as all the other nice powers b4 30 (for sirens) as i love it too much to part with it.
Can i ask how well bonfire performs in PvP? I've seen other fire troller laying down bonfire for squishies to stand on, so is it another anti-stalker tactic?
Also, i've been told hotfeet is great for PvE as it does good damage with containment. Would 3 end 3 dam be best for this purpose then? (i do exemp on occassion and lack damage before the impses).

Smoke is autohit in PvE but needs accuracies in PvP (unless they changed it again?)
Cinders is not a must for PvE as you said yourself but it's really nice to have...pretty much useless in PvP
Hotfeet is absolutely awesome in PvE and I would recommend slotting it 3 end reds, 3 dmg, doesnt need accuracies in PvE. For pre i7 PvP it interupts AS because of the slow debuff (and the damage if it hits) but only the damagepart and not the debuff will interupt AS after i7 so if you take it put a accuracy in it.
As Nightbringer said you should always be moving and Hotfeet uses a massive amount of end so it's a matter of playstyle/priorities really.
Hover? Why would you want a power that makes you a sitting duck? Get something else.
Bonfire is fine if you plan do stand still all the time in it....don't get it!

As a Fire/Kin controller myself, is there a need for superspeed OR superjump at all. Siphon and IR would do this nicely anyway. Surely Invis with Fly/TP would be a better choice, unless you're going for the stacking option of course...

Because in PvE once i hit my stride in a mission i have 2 siphon speeds on me all the time. That with 3 fly speed makes me very nippy indeed, certainly faster than running, and provides me the KB protection i need to use my kin powers.
Spent quite a while looking at my build last night and it seems i can't really have the best of both. To get what i want for PvP i'll have to sacrifice things i love in PvE, so i've decided not to spec this toon for PvP
As someone in another thread said, fire/kin is so damn good in PvE it seems a travesty to ruin it

Acrobatics. You need the leaping pool, so IR is kinda nice to have, but not nescesary. SS is a must, its the fastest combat power in the game. Dont PvP without it.
Fly is [censored] in PvP. You dont have the end to run it, and its too slow. Dont get it.
TP is an escape power more than a actual combat power. If you pwn your opponent, then why escape?

Errr one BIG thing imaginary and nightbringer's builds are missing is increase denisty. Thats a BIG mistake if you ask me. If your going for PvP don't leave home without increase denisty especially with the repel resistance. I would drop smoke and take increase density. It has a huge use in PvP and a lot of use in PvE.
Here's a modified version of imag and nb's hybrid build. Slotting you can totally vary, like take slots out of siphon power and move them else where, 2 acc 3 recharge is not essential... so play around with it, and give us your suggestions. The main thing i would really advise for PvP is get acrobatics because there are SO many knockback powers out there, acrobatics also will give you res to some hold albeit weak res. It will still res KB blow from a brute which is very handy imo.

Strange that everyone picks fire epics. I know that its attacks have the quickest animations of all, and that they dont root you... but specially after no more permahold in i7, powerboost can be almost a must
1) when your /kin you pretty much can have perma-hold
2) you don't need them held very long when a fulcum shifted containment fireball will wipe them out in seconds
3) concept, concept, concept

fireball does less damage then powerblast 2 (tested)..also way longer recharge and fireblast can't make up for the damage...its nice for pve if you are a kin but for pvp primal is lots better imo (kin's don't need consume either:P)

That might be because the former is an AoE It's the only epic with a good AoE attack, and it's very good. Containment+fulcrum shift=damage cap, so base damage really doesn't matter. With my crazy recharge with siphon and hasten i can do this every 10 seconds, like a nuke
Also fire epic has a much better sheild than primal. Fire/kin is an AoE damage beast, my other trollers however - ill/storm and earth/emp are both getting primal, as powerboost for them will be very nice.
Also, as i stated in an earlier post, i've given up on speccing this toon into a PvP build, fire/kin is far too good at PvE to warrant it, i have other toons for PvP.

But fireball deals more damage than fireblast (fireblast is the single target, fireball the AoE). It also has much quickest unrooted animation and quickest recharge ^^... and then again fire armor is better too, imo
Hello all, i have a few questions for those of you experienced with fire control in PvP.
I am looking to respec my lvl 50 fire/kin into a more PvP friendly build. By this i mean hybrid, as i'd never sacrifice her PvE godliness So a few questions;
1) Smoke - I've never hit with this in PvP, does it now take acc enhancements, if so how many would i want for PvP ? (assuming 2). I rather wanted it to be like the nightwidow uberpower, but it seems not
2) Hotfeet - I have repel atm but assume hotfeet is the better anti-stalker power? If so what slotting would be best? Does it need acc or is it autohit? Assume it'll want end red and possibly damage.
3) Travel powers - I currently use SS, inertial reduction and hover (combat). I know IR is great as it's unsupressed but would i be better off with hover, fly and IR? It can be annoying when siphons run out to be stuck at base hover speed again, but it's not a huge problem.
4) Leadership - I can't really see the use other than the small resistances it gives (seems to be very very small) to placate and the like. I don't notice much missing with 2 acc in everything and i hardly need a little damage buff with siphon power. Also any good stalker will be running hide AND stealth right? So either way i can't see them anyway.
5) Any use for stealth in PvP? I know it doesn't stack with SS in PvP, which is annoying, so is it any use to me at all or will hotfeet be adequate repellant?
Obviously i'm constrained by the number of powers i can get by 30 (for sirens) and wont want to give up my PvE powers. The easiest thing to change is travel power as either way i'll have hover and hasten, the prerequisites.
Comments please
