Request for a PvP build
Well, Spines/SR is VERY hard combo.
First of all - the squishiness. I've kept the same mission for over three weeks now and considering deleting my spines/sr.
He dies.
He misses.
A VERY late bloomer.
PvP - your endurance will be running out like indians in a Texan bar.
(Or do they pwn? )
Well... my two inf.
And.. I'd consider something else. Try NRG Melee. Or something.. /nin
well energy melee is more of a brute's pwoer pool i think, and ninjitsu is a bit crappy, I''ve been told by a lvl 40 MA/ninjitsu stalker how crappy it really is. But hey, if no-one can gimme a decent build then I'll jsut have to make my own.
NOTE: I've seen spines/sr in pvp, they rock. And they mostly count on defense, not resistance, so yes they are squishy.
Spines/sr rocks very good combination for PvP, it'll be hard in PvE, spending most your time spamming impale until 26 where you finally have another attack to chain in.
You sure about having no travel power set? I think your looking to follow slyfes build, which is kinda gimped for sirens and bloody bay...(no elude)
First off, it does have elude, I seen his videos, and second, yesa I am copying his buils(hope u don'y mins slyfe). Now Then, can somone please post a build.
This is slyfes build (copied from his website) looks very hard to play from the start, its something you should prolly respec into if you want to follow it. My advice play spines/sr see what fits your own playstyle and suits you then decide...

Something i would change would be drop agile and dodge (they only give def bonuss when u r injured) and get a travel even if's just to avoid being killed, having already hasten, i'd go either for ss+cj or tp foe+tp (remember tp can still be used when u r held, too). That travel would make slyfe's play much safer IMHO
I think I will use this build, but drop either dodge or agile for SS.

Are you sure of that? Afaik Agile/Dodge gives Defense, and damage resistance, where the damres increases as your hitpoints go down. And i would say 7,8% defense are worth taking agile/dodge.

I agree. If you don't take Agile and Dodge then you might as well run a Ninjutsu Stalker and get some tricks. These two are what give SR its edge.

ehhh you sure? you can tp if immobed, not when sleeping-held-stunned-feared because those mezzes prevent you from activating ANY power (including tp)
"god, how many devs did hami have to sleep with to get ED?"

Somebody must be thinking of immobilize..
I'm seeing a lot of biased un-educated opinions here. Since when did Nin suck? I have a lvl 40 Nin/Nin, and a 32 NRG/Nin, and no. It doesn't suck. The defense plus the heal make it pretty damned good. Defenses shouldn't matter in PvP anyway, for a stalker anyway. Stalkers should be in, kill their target, and out. Which is why I suggest TP as your travel power, but YMMV. Spines/SR? Pffft...Spines isn't THAT great in PvP, infact none of the stalker sets compare to Energy Mellee. I find with my EM Stalker I can rip apart scrappers in two moves, and Tankers in maybe 4.
But, just my opinion. Some people really think they know it all though
I'd never say dodge and agile are useless powers, I just can't find other ones to spare in order to have a travel power, which i think is safer than having 1 or more toggles but having to walk. But well i understand not everyone share my opinion. In the end everyone has his playstyle.
Errm and of course u are write, u can tp urself away when immob, not held. Concept and word got mixed somewhere between my head and my fingers .
And well about the EM/* stalker, well i think it can do things that spines cant, but that goes in both ways. Em fiery dmg and stuns are nice for scrappers and tankers. Nevertheless, Spines range, -speed -rech give a great advantage against those enemies with PbaoE aura and */devices blasters.
Still spines can kill scrappers and tankers and EM can kill /devices and enemies with PbaoE, althout with more difficulties. In the end it's just a matter of taste IMO
you know what, forget it. I'll just pick another power set, anyone got any suggestions for the best PvP build?

As for the travelpower, i respeced my EM/SR stalker at 27 (to get the cash) and switched from SJ to fly, slotting hover with 3x fly speed (fly still 1 spd, no spare slots YET). apart from the low flight speed on fly (which will change once i get 2 spare slots) im very happy with it. i happened to duel a /SR scrapper in sirens call, all i can say is fly is pretty cool in pvp. some say "you gotta get out fast", but i say it does not have to be fast, moving all up where people cant follow does the job pretty well. dont underestimate true 3d movement in pvp. plus you become invis in another 5s, and youre free to pick the next target. that scrapper had hard time getting into close range with him having superjump, and me flying easily around avoiding his attacks.
as for the duel itself it was a bit uneven, im only 30 atm, and he was 50 and able to see me through hide. with both of us beeing /SR, i didnt get the chance to kill him though.
of course i cant escapce once im held/immob (hope that doesnt happen too often with PB stacked twice and hit & run tactics), and teleport could get me out in such a situation. but i personally dislike teleport in pvp, because you just _cant_follow_ people. as soon as the other guy starts flying/superjumping/or even superspeeding youre lost. i would suggest taking teleport as second travelpower, if you got some spare powerslots.

ive tried quite a few stalkers, including spines/ea, claws/regen, blade/sr, and now em/sr. i gave up on all of them except EM/SR, since its quite easy to solo. i play on relentless since 22 (first SOs), and now at 30 it gets even easier to solo with ET and stun. i find the damage output pretty good, along with decent defense from/SR and quick movement/recharge. i didnt want to take /nin because i wanted to max out defense and didnt want too many tools, so im very happy with my em/sr. my hero build currently takes use of all primary/secondary powers except barrage. if im not mistaken (im at work atm), along with hover/fly and stamina this leaves room for 1 patron power as well as stealth at 41-50.
Hey all,
I have a lvl 40 EM/SR stalker... and have taken all my SR powers and the EM is one of the best for both PvE and PvP..
.
The SR set has no bad power.... but with the EM u have two superior damagea ttacks in ET and TF... but like most people say in PvP ure job as a stalker is to go in AS go out.... we would not survive in a standup fight with a lot of heros...
thats what i think.... but ideal for PvP id say would be EM/Nin as it also gives u fear rez.... one thing that stops me cold in my tracks is either a dark mastery scrapper....
have fun stalking...
Right then, it's decided, I'll go with Em/SR instead, any posts for a build?
Hi, I'm mostly playing on city of villains now and I previously thought that stalekrs were cheap killstealing bastards who screw up in teams, but after seeing them in action in both PvE and PvP I now love them. I want to make a spines/SR stalker coz I've seen how much they own in PvP. But I'm not sure what buidl to take, so could some of you post a build for me so I can see which one to take?
And as a note, I would like the medicine and the stealth power chucked in, no travel power set. Thank you.
