sounds pretty harch.. it might just be a freaky coincident.. tho i can admit that never on my 18 months of CoX and surely 50-70 alts i made, i never seen a 'twin' out there, costumewize.... Names ive been stolen of, but again, i doubt it has been a copy-cat, but more a freaky coincident.. ie i got: .Dr Death and Lady Death as alts on CoV.. and ive seen another player with the same two alts: Dr De'ath and Lady De'ath lol.........
and yea.. if it now is regarding a copy-cat.. be proud.. u are a rolemodel and inspiration of others.. not really a reason to get upset about unles this person actually claims to be u and drag ur reputation through the soilpipes lol
I remember once in city of heroes joining a team and met up with them in the mission and low and behold there was my twin. Completly chance but was almost identical to my character apart from was slightly taller and had bigger boobs.

There are bound to be coincidences but if it's clear they're mimicking you then petition them. I don't see any obvious Positron or Synapse ripoffs (I presume we're not allowed to make them), so it shouldn't be any different with our own characters. It's still copyright breach.

At costume its just a coincidence, 1 of those things, but a same backstory, that is purposeful. Petition and see what they say, they are trying to steal your identity. Even though it could be taken as a complement i would get annoyed at it, if they physically follow you that IS harassment. You can just be EVIL and get them killed like was already mentioned, love that idea

Well...have you ever TRIED making identical copies of the signature heroes? I can't say I tried, but I did look for specific costume pieces for my chars. They arent there :P
Which is smart tho. Othwise we'd have a 100 Invuln/SS tankers running about with a name similar to "Statesman" in some way or another.

I have at several poins encountered people that looked slightly like me if you used your imagination such as a guy that kind of looked like sandro in the end of the eropean beta except taller and a guy with the same headpiece and height as sparkman.
heh, I remmember when that happened to me once. I was playing a different game and I noticed a player called 'Acenra2' I found it very funny that there was another person out there with the same desire for a name
it may be annoying when they have that sort of thing. in fact, it seems a bit creepy, but just be glad someone out there apreciates your ideas like we all do, but enough to be a hardcore fan. I'd long for that kind of thing when I publish my book

But the way I see it, is if they go round on a bad day abusing people, bad-mouthing etc, it will come back to you or at least include you/tarnish your name and so on.

Awk well i know that, cant even remember the other part of the guys name. All my alts have the Twilight in front them something like Gambit or Nightmare just to name two,Theres quiet a few other people like that which is ok by me i dont think Twilight should just be reserved for me, tho i will crack up if anyone copies my MMs thugs when i7 comes out.
I shall wage war on anyone that copies the back story, as for looks im not worried about im sure there will be a few people that will look that same cuz it uses some of the new costume options.
i Just wish some people would have a bit of imagination sometimes... i used my creativity..why cant they?
I had just came out of a newspaper mission and there was some guy standing there with exactly the same costume and a similar name Twilight (something), so i decided to have a look at his details.
To my shock and horror he had exactly the same back story but with a few minor changes, he was also a bot/dark mm with the same powers as me. he was only lvl 38 but still gah why?
i changed my costume to another, he did the same and his other cossie was the same as mine... [censored]!
now im not dumb enough to think that everyone will have a unique costume its bound to happen sooner or later but the same backstory, this is too much.
Has this happened to anyone else, ive had this same toon since the start of beta so im not the copying tard. some people just dont have an imagination!
