Tough vs. Aid Other ?
Most people who are Energy Armor have the medicine pool and skipped the passives. I believe the same will apply for Electric Armor.
Edit - Properly slotted with interupt SO its a very reliable heal, granted there is not a mob of 10 npc wacking at you.
The advantages aid self has other tough is that it works against all damage types (except dot although with 1 reduce interupt duration it can activate in between ticks of damage). Properly slotted it heals 40% every 11 seconds so well worth having in your build

I don't think there's any doubt - if you're Def based Aid Self is the way to go, it's a substantial heal, quick recharge, lowish end cost and the interrupt is there but small. It's one of those power pools that you take and are surprised at how good it is rather than think 'omg this is awful' - a category that the Fighting Pool neatly fits into.
i was amazed at how much better life was with tough for my DA brute, but on my SR scrapper I found it less than usefull.

They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.

Hey,
I agree with what Filth said. If ur build has mainly defenses like EA, go for the aid self. I have a lvl40 FM/EA and respected tough out for aid self (slotted with 2 inter, 3 heals). I get a +520 heal when pressing it, never got interrupted :-)
On the other hand I have a resistance defense brute lvl27 (SS/INV), and here I'm very happy with the extra resistance, stacks nicely.
Hope this helps
Mad Fire Green - lvl40 FM/EA - Aid Self
Evil JImmy - lvl40 SM/SA - Tough
Evil Jared - lvl40 DM/FA - Tough
Mad Dave - lvl27 SS/INV - Tough

In which case no heal on earth could rescue /EA
DON'T eat muffins while I'm developing you.
Pants! Turkey Magnates! A man in a box! Rogue AI! Come one, come all, to arc ID 10107 - It's 'Not as long as some other arcs'!
Yeah, I'm going to go for Tough on my /Fire brute because I already have a self heal and don't need another to cut into my DPS. Same with my Regen scrapper. Tough is not awful, it's still pretty useful for those sets.
I agree though, for a defense set I'd go with Aid Self anytime.
See here for aid self info, and comparison to tough as well.
Cheers folks! Exactly the kind of stuff I was after...looks like Aid Self ftw!
I went tough on my Granite brute, for obvious reasons, but that one has been bothering me

There is probably a post somewhere about this, but I wanted to get a few people experiences
So the fact Tough is a toggle is no problem hehe, I'm looking at pure usefulness in combat.

For the armour sets without a heal, mainly Electric or Energy Armour, I want to choose 1 of these 2 sets...however I can't really free up the slots for both!
So first up ASSUME ENDURANCE IS NOT AN ISSUE !!
1) Which is better for soloing?
2) Which is better for teaming?
3) Which is better for PvP?
My preliminary thoughts are Aid other for solo, and tough for teams, but what are peoples thoughts who have used them?
