I think they just have to add a longer recharge for this power ...
I always use that like an emergency button ( when someone farm me or my comrades and some other cases ... )

Both powers you stated there though have very easy remedies, LoS or pure distance between yourself and the caster, cages/bubbles have no such counter...

Except LoS and pure distance between yourself and the caster? If I can't see you, I can't cage you. Or, you could just zerg me with the rest of your team every time you see me. It's what we tend to do to Force Bubblers/Empaths, why should a sonic cage/detention fielder be any different?

I think you misunderstood what i meant. If you hit me with a cage there is nothing i can do about it. You taunt me, or hit me with a rad debuff, i can.

LOL ur joking right? the dev's imo have no idea how the powers work or how people wud use them, if all powers are being used as they were meant to be there wud have been no changes to them

I must admit i find this a strange issue as some one who plays a sonic/sonic corrupter in pvp the times i use cage are rare, the times i have used it have been against certain scrappers and tanks and even then getting a hit on a spines/SR scrapper is rare, for me too its just a panic button to use to get me out of trouble.

I can see however how a team of /sonics could use this power to its advantage to win a battle but then a team of say controllers are as equally powerful if not more so than anything the sonics resonances set can offer. Just like every set it has its draw backs if you are having problems with being caged by a sonics team up with an Spines/ SR scrapper.

I just think its funny that some people who once thought that this would never work are now arguing that its unfair.

I also think its not great pvp - but it clearly works....or rather, it CAN clearly work.

what u suggested was using a whole team of defenders/controllers with some form of foe phase shift which is completely different

I think the power can only be used in a way that is exactly how the devs intended it. I actually see no other uses for it. I think the same goes for most powers that are abused. I do think that the devs will sometimes underestimate a players ability to utterly abuse something that works well though.

in the EU? No, not even close.
in the US? Judging by the posts, maybe, but I can't make a fair judgement based on people posting on the forums. So the only true way to judge this would be to play on the US servers.

Why exactly is this thread even here?

Its a pointless moan, its like saying, Oh I dont like it that healers have heals, stalkers have AS, ice trollers can hold you in ice etc.

Its one of an ATs powers. So it holds you, so what? You cant be attacked while youre in it so its not the end of the world, I could understand it if folk could hit you while you were held.

As it is, the game appears to be catering for close up fighters already too much, is it really right that you should moan about every other ATs powers to be nerfed, cos who exactly would you fight then? PVP zones would be just full of scrappers and stalkers.

As it is, for some stalkers and scrappers, you have a bad time getting something to hit anyway.

Sorry but it just looks like moaning for moanings sake as sonic cages dont actually do anything other than hold you and take you out of the game for a short period. So does a block of ice, maybe you can break free but you can also take damage with that.

Why not put all your efforts into actually playing rather than whinging over absolutely nothing.

I suggested using a whole team or using a team with about 4 bubblers in it...even just 2 could make a significant difference I think.

And I never mentioned using controllers. Their PS powers cannot be made perma.

I remember that, people rubbished it. I can't remember the reason given as to why it was so bad and the thread has been deleted.

Maybe because it wouldn't be taken seriously in PvP and any official matches you wouldn't be allowed more than 1 AT of a certain type (for Pentad) or 2 of the same AT (player self imposed rules on Monday Nights). Also it wouldn't be fun for either team, using powers to stop people from playing. I'm pretty sure that a team of defenders with bubbles wouldn't actually be able to defeat a team of experienced players with varied ATs. One scrapper with Focused Accuracy and high defence and the bubblers would lose pretty quickly. Elude ftw!

Not to mention the Ice Tank taunting them all.
Illusion/Kinetic buffing everyone and sending Fear and Phantoms after the Defenders. What are you going to hold, he's invisible.
Blaster Ice/Energy, even after the I7 changes this would be my choice. Stacked high with 3 Increase Densitys (which are 50% more effective than I6 allowing him to walk through any bubble).
For the Defender to round off this little Pentad I would have to go with Rad/Rad.

This whole topic is "evolution of PVP" builds, AT's anc certain powers are like fashion. they come and go, and so does the moaning...

Once this power hits mainstream in PVP in the EU, Im sure there will eventually be a way to couter it, bublers/sonics will then be target 101 all the time, rendering them pretty useless to a team.

Cast your minds back somewhat. Stormies were the evil ones. I remember the outrage of posts that came flooding in about these.. then people learned how to counter them, and eventually how to make them useless.

I mean I remember when Kinetics were not even wanted in pvp at all..now there one of the most important powersets other than an empath imo.

Same with rads and scrappers. - people screamed. - then they learned that foc acc was the way forward.. and so be it. the screaming stoped.

Now with Sonic Cages, Det feild, just need to learn a) to avoid them and to make them a target priority. - bubblers now wont even be a problem now ID from kinetic will offer walking up to them to say Hi!.

So whats a problem now. will soon be a has been.. but right now Bublers/sonic are the new storm. - learn it, learn them and move on.
